The Matterhorn Swiss RestaurantA San Francisco ClassicWithout a doubt one of San Francisco's hidden gems. There is no better communal dining experience than fondu and Matterhorn is the best you'll find. Add to that a killer bar and wine list and you've got a great dining experience. One of our favorite places to take out of town guests and to host group events.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMVery pleasant experience withVery pleasant experience with great food and warm, friendly hostess and wait people. Fondue is a simple presentation often done at home, but the cheese, herbs and garlic make this place's version special.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur fondue dinner was veryOur fondue dinner was very fun and very tasty. Lots of variety. The salad they brought first was delightful - unusual yummy dressing. The wine list provided plenty of good choices. Service was great - and helpful.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had dinner here to celebrateWe had dinner here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We ate here on our honeymoon originally. The food was really good. Very traditional Fondue. I wish there was a little more variety to the menu and wine list, but the food was great. The thinly cut beef that you fondue in the broth was excellent. It cooked up quickly and was very tender. There was also many sauces and extras to dip in addition to the beef. We'll go back in 10 more years!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been going to MatterhornWe've been going to Matterhorn for years now. My daughter loves spending her birthday there, and we always have a fantastic time. And it's fun eating fondue. She's now 25 and still enjoys spending her birthday with them. The owner is super friendly and accommodating, they recommend the portions required for your group so you don't over-order. It's a LOT of food. The cheeses are all amazing. The chocolate fondue - YUM, but their other desserts are also delicious. Just a great place to be.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful place and had soWonderful place and had so much enjoyment with Swiss food and wines. Was like being at home, again.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
