Had a 7:30pm reservation and at 9:15pm we were still waiting for our food. Two other tables left without eating which should have been our first clue. At 9:30pm we just got up and left. Not one plate of food came out of the kitchen for any table in all that time that passed. They won't last 6 months. Dreadful experience. BEYOND ACCEPTABLE.

Sadly, I can only rate Marlin and Ono with two stars. I was desperately hoping it would be better, as we could really use a great restaurant in the neighborhood! But, sadly, we were terribly disappointed. Though the wait staff was nice, they were a bit cloying, and the service was bad. We waited way too long for our bottle of wine to arrive, and the wait for dessert was interminable. And then there was the food - so disappointing. The burrata was tasteless and really could have used a dash of salt. The salmon had too much pepper and no other flavor. And the pasta with clams was equally tasteless. Only the desserts were delicious - we had the flourless chocolate cake and the bread pudding. But, sadly, not good enough to want us to come back a second time.

My wife and I walked by the restaurant many times, sad because Senor Fred's disappeared. We had a coupon and decided to give it a try, not expecting much. The food was reasonably priced (though there were some more expensive dishes) and I got the Artichoke, Hearts of Palm, Asparagus salad to start, and the scallop, shrimp and salmon main course with risotto (which was a very reasonable $16). I can always tell a restaurant is good if I actually like the salmon, which I rarely do. Everything on the plate was amazing, including the salmon. We really liked our server too. Dinner is served at a relaxed pace, but we felt we were well attended.

We came on opening night two months ago and it was a disaster. We dined there yesterday and it made opening night seem Michelin starred. Firstly, I want to state on both occasions the food has been very good, however the service is plain awful. We waited 28 minutes for our appetizer, 14 minutes for a glass of wine and the waiter only put our food dishes into the chef after I complained. When we got the bill after I paid, he offered a dessert. It was really poor timing and nothing was removed from the bill. We declined the dessert. The waiter had only 4 tables since it was dead and the chef was playing hostess. We'll never return to this restaurant ever again. It was a very awful experience. Kudos to the Chef though.

The appetizers are good, freshly sliced prosciutto and burrata. The salmon--a tiny tail end piece and scampi both overcooked. Only 3 other tables of dinners yet it took 45 minutes between appetizer and entrée. The server was skilled but appeared sheepish with the explanation of trying to recreate a european experience.

We each ordered a dish that contained salmon, and it was cooked to perfection each time. (Even grandma who has a habit of sending food back was happy!)

This restaurant is very new. We wanted to try something different. We went there last night for the first time. The decor is very pleasant. As a reflection of the staff's responsiveness, we asked for the heat to be turned up because we were cold. That request was granted, we were comfortable and it was on to the cuisine. Both of us had the salad of greens and the fettuccine with salmon. The size of each was quite generous. The main course was particularly very tasty and the salmon was cooked to my standard of perfection. The desserts were also very good. The coup d' gras is that one of our all-time favorite servers, Paul, formerly of Rive Gauche, works at the Marlin and Ono Grille and served us. We had not seen him in several years. His level of service was excellent as always. There is nothing wrong with corporate or other gastropubs. However, we like to support family-owned non-gastropubs. If you do too, this family-owned business is worthy of our collective support. We will be back real soon.

I had reservation at 9pm and it was empty, so really no ambiance. The food and wine was really great and the service attentive.

Very disappointing this time. Had the same entree as before - wild salmon w/brussels sprouts. Portion was much smaller, unattractively plated and arrived tepid. My friends had steak and it, too, was not appetizing on the plate. The 3 of us were there early - 6:30 PM - not crowded until later, so the slowness of the service was not warranted. Our server couldn't have been nicer. I will not hurry back - so sad about this.
