This would be a great place for a romantic special occasion, however parties larger than 2 do not get tables at the window with the best view. Not a good place for a group to dine. They are all in the mid to late 20's. it was quiet but not too quiet. I was respective of others dining and so were my kids. There was a couple dining close that asked to be moved. I think it was more personal than noise level. They were looking for a romantic evening and sitting next to our table wasn't their choice.
All in all it was an amazing dinner and the kids knew how special it was to eat at the Marine room. Amazing food, and a wonderful experience for all. My parents loved going there and I held up the tradition after their passing s last year. They were there in spirt.

It's one-of-a-kind. Excellent food. We loved avocado fritters, scallops, steak and cobblestone pie. Very romantic and unique as we were there for high tide. The experience of the ocean waves pounding against the windows was unforgettable. Staff is very friendly. Server went out of his way to give us tips on unique travel experiences in California and answered lots of questions about the history of the Marine Room. Make a reservation though. For $75, we got three courses with wine pairings. The added $25 for wine pairings was not a good value as the "pours" ranged from 2-3 ounces. In all, essentially a glass of wine (maybe a quarter more). Considering that glasses were selling for $10-12, and many bottles were priced under $50, we would have been better off with a bottle or simply ordering by the glass. My lobster with dill pollen was far too salty. My wife's lobster with pistachio crust was excellent. Dessert was wonderful - a trio of small dessert offerings. The panacotta was wonderful, the other two really good. The best course was the appetizer - a Humbolt Fog Brulee, which was exceptional. I had the tuna special and it was by far the best tuna I've had since moving to California a few months ago. My boyfriend had the diver scallops and petite filet mignon special and although the filet was petite he said its the best he has had! We had a very expensive bottle of wine and it tasted so much better because we had it at the marine room. We will definitely be back!!! We commented after the dinner that every bite of everything we chose was simply delicious. The Caesar Salad, although not prepared table-side as noted on the menu, was the best we have had in years. Ahi was amazingly delicious and the Butterfish was excellent.
Too full to think about ordering dessert.
