Diner Reviews
  • "This was our 4th visit to the restaurant and we drive in and stay the night. The food is well worth it and the service was wonderful! Jana who was the main waiter on our table was most pleasant and efficient."

  • "We used your restaurant as a belated Valentine's dinner and it was perfect."

  • "We have been many times to the Mantel. The food is great along with the service. However something little seemed to be off. While it was great, in the past everything had been exceptional. I thing that they just need to tighten their game a little. Still one of the best restaurants in Bricktown."

  • "The Mantle had a great setting and great food. A bit pricey, but its a great option for special occasions."

  • "The experience I had at The Mantle tops any other restaurant visit I have ever had. I had the four cheese totellini and I must say that I have never eaten a better meal. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it to impress the one I live the most. Thanks for the awesome experience!"

  • "We arrived for our 8:00 reservation on time and was left standing for quite some time while the hostess took a phone call and had a lenghty conversation with someone about another reservation. We felt she should have seated us first but we let it go. We were then seated near the hostess station which was near lots of activity. Our waiter was another story! I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was under cooked and just not that great. In the past, we have always enjoyed our meals here, but I don't think we will return anytime soon."

  • "I was excited to try this restaurant for a special romantic dinner with my boyfriend. I read their menu online and thought the lobster ravioli, duck and pork chops sounded really good. I ended up ordering the duck, by recommendation of the waiter. However, I've had better duck at the French restaurant in OKC. The duck at The Mantel was so bland. On a good note, it wasn't gamey, but it had no flavor whatsoever! And the bed of wild rice it was on tasted like straw!! Like I was eating straw from a barn! My boyfriend and I split the mussels appetizer and I was unimpressed with it too. The mussels were tiny and a bit overcooked. My boyfriend got the pork chop and it was just okay. I don't recommend this place at all."

  • "A very nice restaurant that is quiet, dim and comfortable. You can have a pleasant conversation without shouting over the crowd. Most dishes are excellent, a few still need work."

  • "Although the choice of seating was undesirable, the food, atmosphere and service was great!"

  • "The service was exceptional as well as the food. They were repairing the roof when we got their and several diners left. The management saw to it that the roofers stop immediately."

  • "I've been a fan of Mantle's for years, but Saturday night a friend and I ordered the brie as an appetzier and that was very good, but we had the strip steak.for an entree and It was tough, and no flavor. The vegetables looked as though they'd been wilted and standing in a pot for a long time. Not sure we would return for an evening meal."

  • "All of us loved the entrees! If you have a chance to try the halibut, it's amazing!"

  • "Nice restaurant but a little pricey for only okay food."

  • "Drove to OKC specifically to eat at the Mantel. Had previously enjoyed a 22oz bone in ribeye and was hands down the best steak I had ever eaten!! Unfortunately, these are no longer on the menu, but the bone in fillet was nearly as good. Still a great place to eat, great ambience, and service is spectacular."

  • "We arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes earlier than our reservation. I expected that we would have to wait, but the greeter (A very pleasant young man) walked us straight to a table. Our waitress immediately greeted us and brought drinks. It was our first visit and she explained every detail of our menu and answered all our questions. We knew there was a two hour table time, but we were never made to feel rushed. Our meal was a four course set up for New Year's Eve. The food was absolutely delishous from start to finish. My entree was the filet mignon cooked rare and my boyfriend had the lobster tail. I can never find anyone who can make a good raspberry gimlet until now. The entire night was excellent!"

  • "Highest quality food available, seasoned perfectly, cooked as ordered, wait staff courteous but not intrusive. Drinks well made and wine list one of the longer available in OKC"

  • "When you are in Bricktown, eat at Mantels. You will find excellent food and drink to please the most discerning palette no matter what you desire. We have been here several times and each experience has been wonderful, as a note I would suggest that you request a table out of the traffic area as this is a very popular and busy establishment."

  • "The good, nice waiter, took care of me when my Mantel Burger was burned to a crisp...I took one bite and it was charred. The next one was just ok, nothing special. I had ordered the Seafood Linguine but the waiter informed me they were out of mussels. I changed my order to the burger. My husband had the tortellini and it was ok as well. I remember going to the Mantel years ago and having an excellent lunch but not this time. It was a "special occasion" place for us in the past now I don't think we will make it a priority."

  • "Excellent food, service, mood etc.....our waitress was very kind to recommend dishes. We loved everything we ordered. Wine was excellent as well."

  • "Excellent. We were there on a cold night, and the heat had not caught up yet. It was a bit chilly"

  • "I wanted something lighter, so i chose the caprese salad and then a piece of ahi tuna on it, and it was not good. The tuna was dry with NO flavor while everyone else at my table was oohing and awing over their food, I was pushing mine down. So, stick with the items on the menu, the chef knows what he's doing. My husband wants to go back for regular date night. He loved it. He had the steak del monico, and I tasted a bite of it and it was beyond delicious, I goofed. Our waiter was AWESOME!! So nice to have great service."

  • "We had a birthday dinner for one of our friends and she chose The Mantel. The food was great for everyone but the guest who got the duck. I am a vegetarian and the chef prepared something for me that was awesome. Our wait person was attentive and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. This is one of my favorite restaurants."

  • "Our service was fantastic and our waiter was both attentive and very friendly. I think this is a great place to go if you are there to spend time with your group. Some people may characterize the service as slow (per other reviews) but I think this is really a positive in the days where get you fed and get you out is more common in the industry. I really appreciated this and it added to both the ability to appreciate the abience and the conversation with my date. My mahi mahi was very good but slightly dry. Salmon was good. Steak tartare was excellent. The "Sicilian sauce" was fantastic. The flavors for each dish were excellent and well put together. You can tell that they care about what they put on the table."

  • "We go to Bricktown once a year as a quick getaway and to witness the growth of oklahoma city. And for the last three years we have eaten at The Mantle. This year things have changed, There were fewer patrons in the restaurant. The steak was of lesser quality. We were offered a particular Fish for the special, a parrot fish, we asked the waiter to verify the authenticity of the species Of this particular fish as we knew it would be great. It couldn't be done. We were asked to refer To a childrens book to describe the type of fish we were given as a choice for dinner. Loved The Mantle the times before when we visited, just not this time."

  • "The Mantle used to be our favorite fine dining restaurant, but with so many new OKC restaurants to try, it's been awhile since we've been back. Dining there this week reminded me why we like it so much. It's cozy, great wine list, and the food was delicious and elegant. We'll be back soon. ."

  • "I would be violating the "terms of service" if I shared my actual experience with you. Let's suffice it to say don't bother wasting your time or money here. The food is awful among MANY other issues."
    Dined on 11/2/2013
  • "Small, quaint, good location. Parking could be a problem when events are in Bricktown. Food was great but keylime pie was too cold, like it had been frozen and thawed even though we were told it was made there.Salad (Caeser) was fair. The dressing was a bit bland.Salmon was excellent! We were called picky because we wanted to know what year the wine was. We have found 2010 Cabs are better than 2011s."

  • "Service was outstanding. Food was amazing. Its cozy and dim lit. I came here for a date with an old friend and it was exactly what I'd hoped for. I made a special request and it was perfectly executed. 10/10 Full package restaurant."

  • "Great little restaurant in bricktown. Small and cozy. Food is great. Prices recently raised, though. Not so sure it is worth it anymore. Quality as gone down too. A $30 NY strip with potato chips as a side???? OUCH! I used to love this place. Probably won't be back."

  • "Was looking at something off the menu but the waiter told us about the specials of the night. One of the dinners sounded very good and boom....it was great. Had steak, roasted potatoes, asparagas, and shrimp to complete the plate. It was marvelous! Recommend this to those looking for a fine dining experience."

  • "I had great expectations when I took my wife there for our anniversary and my expectations were more than met. The setting is good (maybe not the best), but I would sit on the curb outside as long as they kept serving the same quality. Really, the food was fantastic. Our server was very good as well. Both my wife and I loved the lobster bisque, my steak was very good, and my wife's seared scallions were out of this world. Overall this place will be a new go-to for special occasions for us. Expect around $35 per plate, but unlike most places I had no regrets spending that much for what we received. I would pay more."

  • "We really enjoyed our experience overall. No complaints about the food or service. Some of the other guests were obnoxious, and there seems to be something about the acoustics that makes it easy to hear what is being said around you. I guess they can't do anything about that."

  • "I spend a lot of time on the road for work, so finding a great restaurant can be difficult. This restaurant had great staff. I was extremely surprised by the 4 cheese chicken pasta I ate. It was probably the best example of that dish I have ever eaten. I was a bit put off by the price, but I was very satisfied after tasting the dish. Yes, the cost here is a bit pricey, but from the example of the quality of the food...You will understand why."
