I took 2 (young) seniors out for a special brunch and both had difficulty with the conversation due to the noise level. Is there anything that could be done with the decor to absorb the sound? I have been going to the Manor for years and have only noticed this problem since the most recent renovations. It really took away from our experience.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe worst part about dinningThe worst part about dinning in comfort is that most restaurants nowadays have overhead blowing cold air vents on one's head. Your place had none of this, and all air vents were blowing from the floor which makes more sense than having to sit for hours under a slow chill on the head and neck causing sinus aggravations for some and stiff necks at the end of the evening. Not many people know about this factor, and do not realize the side effects of this, so it was indeed pleasurable to sit in comfort dinning and socialzing in a sensible atmosphere.
Music = nice, not too loud, and yes I will certainly return and bring my guests as well. We were seated at a great table allowing the 4 of us to have a great conversation. The Chef here is probably one of the most creative in the City. Be assured his 'special of the day' will never disappoint and you will be treated to a very unique and delicious gastric pleasure. It was perfect for a quiet and quaint atmosphere. The food was excellent. We both had the pork special. The waitress was friendly and offered the perfect amount of service. Although the food and wine were excellent we found there not to be many choices. The wine menu is especially limited.
