  • "We chose The Manor for a family birthdy celebration and we were not disappointed! We were seated in a private room which was lovely and perfect for the 3 year old in our group. The service was efficient and friendly, food was delicious across the board and the cocktails were unique and tasty. We would definitely go back!"

  • "a friend from Winnipeg came to visit. On her last night, I brought her and a couple of friends who haven't been here. They were very satisfied with the food, service and the privacy of our little-last-night-gathering. The Manor once again didn't embarrass me. Thanks guys."

  • "I just wrote a note about the manor. I accidentally made the food five star. I would only give it 4 star at best. Was unable to correct my error."

  • "well worth the visit, the food is not complicated, yet satisfies."

  • "We enjoyed the atmosphere, the setting/neighbourhood and our server was pleasant. There were four in our party and we reserved the last opening for the brunch sitting. The food was good but we felt that the "complimentary fruit" was too little (not enough blackberries for each person for example) and that we were not asked if we would like more hot water for tea or refills for coffee. The restaurant was not very full at this point so those refills should have been, in my opinion, more readily available. That being said, I would love to check this restaurant out for dinner one evening!"

  • "The food was good and presentation nice, but not spectacular. The service was not very attentive. Did not fill our wine or water and didn't come to check on how the meal was until we were almost finished ."

  • "One of my favorite places to dine but this time was disappointed in the food quality."

  • "Great quaint atmosphere. The service was great. The food was great. Tried the Pumpkin Fritters for appetizer. They were much like Tim Bits in marmalade sauce. They tasted fine and made for some fun comments. The fish special was very tasty. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home."

  • "I cannot fault the lone server at all. he was running around on his own trying to managed the whole restaurant. The food prepared for my wife was interesting level rice, overcooked till crispy. It did get chnaged when we let the server know of the issue. The food is good but not exception in my booked. The tiramisu I can say desire the ranking but would be nicer if it was slightly less obvious with the liquor content otherwise I will say "excellent". Dessert defintiely stay in my enter my food listing."

  • "We were fortunate to sit in the separate dining room - with its red, black and white decor it has a vintage yet hip feel. It is quiet and private which makes for a lovely night out with friends. The menu has several traditional choices, all of which have been reinterpreted. The meals were all tasty, hot and well presented. The deserts were wonderful. Service was attentive and efficient. Ala in all a great night out."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner very much. Food was great, presentation was done well. Our server attended to our needs and was very nice. Being in a old house converted to a restaurant made for a great ambience."

  • "If you are looking for great food and service plus great ambience and a sense of European style, you should try the Manor Casual Bistro. Centrally located, it offers a charming set up, with a mix of the old world and the new vibes. Very relaxing and the quality of the food is excellent."

  • "Visited our favourite restaurant for Valentine's Day and, as always, it didn't disappoint. Set menus can be a gamble but they do take away the endless pondering over a menu. Began with raspberry garnished rose before digging into a flavourful tomato bisque; then a crunchy creamy brie and scallops phyllo pocket followed. A lip smacking sorbet cleared the way for the entree; delivered piping hot and delicious to the last morsel. We opted for beef tenderloin wrapped with boar bacon giving it a smoky twist and the salmon perfectly prepared atop wilted kale and an amazing quinoa pilaff. Our meal concluded with a delicately beautiful edible chocolate bowl filled with rich chocolate mousse, whipped cream and strawberries. Divine at every course!"

  • "Small but not crowded, a charming room. Food is well prepared and quite delicious. Unfortunately they do not have a well stocked wine selection but do look forward to returning."

  • "It is rare that we can have a great meal in a unique place in Edmonton and in Alberta. It was great to find a place that is not a chain, which serve excellent food at a reasonable price. I was surprise that I did not hear of that place before last week. It was even more impressive that my girlfriend did not know that place, when she works in the best restaurants in Calgary, and tried almost every great restaurant of Edmonton, where she grew up. Bravo at The Manor, it was great."

  • "Fast becoming our favorite gem of a Restaurant in Edmonton. Our lunch, again, was second to none in all of Edmonton mid to high end dining establishments. One of our guests followed a Celiac style of life - and they were more than accommodating taking the time to come and talk over the menu with her. She was absolutely delighted to have t his attention. Love this place!"

  • "The food here is pretty good. The spinach salad with goat cheese and honey Dijon dressing was excellent. The duck was quite tasty - crispy skin and a delicious sauce. Things were a bit salty, and the risotto was overly cheesy. I would come back for the service. I liked the beer and cocktail menus as well."

  • "I book the Manor Cafe for our special event lunches. We have always been treated so well, with excellent service, wonderful food and of course the ambience is lovely as always. We felt like we were in a Christmas movie this year, or perhaps inside a snow globe as when we arrived the snow was softly falling, the music from High Street was in the air and then we walked inside to a warm, inviting lunch. A perfect Edmonton moment!"

  • "I've been enjoying this restaurant since it was called Emory's over 20 years ago. The menu has changed considerably since then. The food is a lot simpler now, but still quite good. The Caesar salad is one of the best in town."

  • "I previously booked our staff christmas party at The Manor when I worked for Canterbury Coffee (the manors coffee supplier). It was fab! When given the next opportunity to chime in for where to go to celebrate the holidays with my new employer I immediately thought of the Manor! It didn't disappoint! Service, wine and food was excellent! Will be returning again!"

  • "The duck tastes too strong. And the rice for another dish is too dry. The waitress isn't friendly either. The plate on the table even has a stain on it..... Our overall impression is bad and we won't recommend this restaurant to our friend."

  • "Both myself and my Plus One enjoyed returning to the Manor with each other - this time. Quinn was excellent in the Service he provided and all was done timely. We appreciated the "no rush" as we enjoyed after dinner coffee. Desert was great tasting and fun!! Thank you for allowing us our romantic time :-)"

  • "Two items were served not hot..coffee and soup Famous pear salad not on menu..a dish two of us were looking forward to. Quinoa salad was full of peppers, lthough that had not been identified as an ingredient in the description Very limited menu"

  • "Love this restaurant. Recommend highly! You may not want to book the corner table by the fireplace at lunch though - the noise of other people made it very difficult to hear at this particular table - it was as if the noise was trapped into the corner - first time this has happened there - never experienced this before there."

  • "I'm not sure if it is just what I ordered but I didn't think you could go wrong with a burger. It was so over spiced that it almost tasted like it had gone bad. It was definitely a required taste as one of the other people we were there said after he tasted it (and also said he would not order it again). I ate a quarter of it and then moved on to my fries to fill me up. Everybody else seemed to enjoy their food. The waiter was fairly good but kept forgetting what we had ordered and getting our drinks mixed up. Even for dessert he brought me the wrong thing. I personally wouldn't return to this restaurant."

  • "I have been to the Manor several times for lunch and it has always been a pleasant experience. As usual the food and service were both good but we were the only customers which felt odd. I fear we might lose a nice quiet lunch spot if more people don't support this neighbourhood gem."

  • "Was not that hungry when I arrived at the restaurant and ordered an appie. Was told that would be too small a portion and that I should have ordered something else. Wrong! Appie was filled with cheese, fried basil leaves & very filling. Salad was tasty but also substantial and we all ended up with take home bags. Food was tasty - both the Caprice appetizer and the Caprice salad flavoured with slivers of salted charcuterie - a nice contrast to the freshness of the greens, the acidity of the heirloom tomatoes, and the light dressing. Mains were slightly more expensive than many restaurants, but interesting in description."
