Manor Tavern is always one of my favorites but I was a little disappointed this time. I ordered my filet medium rare and it came out well done. Sent it back and then waited a very long time for my meal. My companion had finished his entree before mine arrived. Normally the manager comes by to ask how things are. This time he didn't. I will still dine at Manor Tavern because usually the food and service are top notch.

With the exception of the fried green tomato appetizer, the food was bland. Service was mediocre at best. By 6:30 PM on a Saturday night they had run out of their beef special. Noted for their fresh vegatables, we were disappointed in both outr meal's offering. Overcooked and bland. We ordered desert to give them one more chance..bread pudding was so dry it needed to be washed down with the last bit of water on the table. Not going back.

We have not been to the Manor Tavern for years - but it won't be years before we visit again. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We had the braised short ribs and the artichoke cakes and both portions were delicious and plentiful. The server convinced us to give the creme brulee a try and I am sooooo glad she did....best I have ever eaten and a perfect ending to a fine meal. If there is a complaint it would be that there may be too many tables squeezed into the dining area giving it a crowded and slightly loud feel, but it was very busy the night we were there and I suppose the owners were maximizing. But the pros far outweigh that con - go there and you will leave happy!

Aft 2 regrettable meals (+surly bartender)at MT, I was not thrilled when I was asked to go there for a birthday. Earlier we had the disappointing crab cakes. Current choices are deep fried, fat-heavy, BBQ drenched or the dishes have a funky ingredient and are too expensive to want to try. ($24 beer can chicken, $19 artichoke cakes.) MT offers one menu for their both lunch/dinner in the hope that a frustrated diner will order an lunch entrée of $25-39. We ordered house salad, French Onion Soup and $18 app of Fried Green Tomatoes with crab. Salad dressing was heavy and tasteless. Soup was ok but in xs crock. For a restaurant that bills itself as farm to table, MT should add more light and healthy menu items that reflect the seasons bounty.

The Manor Tavern has really been hit or miss over the last few years. We had stopped going for well over a year. Our latest dinning experience at The Manor Tavern was surprisingly fantastic. Our waitress was an absolute gem, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and attentive to our needs. The atmosphere has always been lovely at the Manor Tavern but the real standout was the food. From a succulent seared tuna appetizer, to the artichoke cakes and ending with the decadent flourless chocolate pie, the whole meal was a delight for the senses. The Manor Tavern catered our wedding and hosted our rehearsal dinner 8 years ago. We couldn't be happier to see it thriving and better than ever. We look forward to dining there again, soon!

We had not been to Manor Tavern for a while and will not return again soon. Manor salad was very fresh, but dressing bland. Bison was unattractive and not very flavorful. Shrimp and quinoa looked appealing, but lacked flavor and was barely lukewarm. After requesting a quiet table on our reservation, we were placed beside a birthday party and could barely carry on a conversation for our 30th anniversary dinner. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with too many tables and, in order to take care of the party left us for a while. Decaf coffee was barely lukewarm, apparently something wrong with the water system. The chocolate decadence (flourless torte) was the only redeeming factor, but our coffee was gone by then.

We had a note in our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but no one acknowledged or offered anything to make the occasion special. There was an all-day event outside the venue that had probably taken its toll, but, our waitress Sh****n did not seem to feel the need to merit a full tip. For example, we asked for more bread when our main course arrived, After >5 minutes, the manager, who was wonderful, greeted us and asked about our experience. He returned in a very short time with a bread refill after we re-stated our request. In general, there was not much follow-thru by our waitress. We will return again - we're never disappointed by the kitchen - the food is great here! Be aware that the menu is somewhat limited.

The crab soup was pretty good and nice and hot.....everything went downhill from there - the hamburger (ordered medium rare) was medium, and the beer can chicken sandwich was very dry - which is extremely unusual for beer can chicken!!! Our server, Julie, was very good, however - pleasant and responsive.

We had dinner reservations for 6:00 pm. The unfortunate part of early dining are children with families tend to eat early also. The last time we had dinner at the manor tavern we were among a noisy table of children. I am not talking about dinner chatter. What I did not appreciate was after the children ate their parents allowed them to get up, play clapping games and run around. These were older children. On the other hand, a table with two young boys were very aware of of the other diners. I would recommend later dining if you can. Most importantly, the food was great and plentiful. Service was outstanding thanks to Jaime. Ask for her if you go.

We enjoyed our recent dinner at the Manor Tavern. It was our first experience and it was delightful. My daughter enjoyed their French Onion Soup. The mac n cheese slider appetizers were very tasty. My husband ordered a plain cheese burger while I enjoyed my scallops and pork dish, consisting of 4 large scallops and an ample helping of a tender pork butt BBQ. Both of our dishes were very succulent. Our food and service was good during this busy evening. My only complaint would be is the noise level. With our party of three l, it was almost impossible to hear each other.

We often come here and usually enjoy our visit. Last week 4 of us came. It seems that a table of 10 had switched from outside to in and our waitress was burdened with 10 extra people. She was quite pleasant and did her best but we found ourselves looking for her and our next course often. The manager helped her which was nice. All 4 of us ordered the three course restaurant week meals. Appetizers: zucchini cakes excellent, salads with goat cheese, etc. so so, Thai salad good. Main course: seafood medley excellent, pork, good taste, a bit dry, braised beef ribs, not very good. Needed spices. Dessert: key lime custard excellent, peach cake ok, chocolate cheesecake good. A bit disappointing as these were guests and we wanted it to be special.

Have been a long time customer of Manor Tavern but this visit was disappointing. Entrees took over 1 hour to arrive without explanation. There were no "bus boys" attending to us, so our server was very sweet and experienced but very busy. Water not refilled, one of the diner's food in our party was luke warm at best. Manager did cut our check in half, which was very appreciated but did not get a clear explanation as to why the issue with the delay. From our observation, it seemed like there were many disgruntled customers that night. Maybe they need to schedule more staff. Food was good but not worth the one hour+ wait. Chocolate cake was delicious and highlight of long meal but even that took a long time to be served!

You must decide to go to "The Tavern". It's a beautiful, bucolic, drive with twists and turns thru forests, rolling hills, horse farms, estates and farm houses...go Dulaney Valley Road to Manor Road to Old York. That's half the fun! The other half is "The Tavern". The menu has a wide variety of delicious offerings and specials. It's not "gourmet" a la Milton Inn, it's much more eclectic from hamburgers to a wonderful soft-shell crab special with an interesting bed of fresh corn and aioli. Try "The Tavern" and see if it's your style...be sure to wear your casual Ralph Lauren Polo knit shirt.

We went there for restaurant week. 2 people ordered coconut curry shrimp. They reported the shrimp had neither coconut or curry flavor. I ordered a Thai salad. It was shredded zucchini with peanuts. Little or no Thai sauce. 2 people had seafood jambalaya. They said it was ok. I had what was billed as artichokes made like crab patties. All it was was fried or broiled artichoke hearts shaped into a patty. No seasonings like in a crab cake. Waitress did bring over a shaker of Old Bay. Other diner had pork but it was so red she couldn't eat it. Desserts were delicious. Manor tavern is beautiful and in a very peaceful setting.

It had been more than a decade since my last trip to the manor tavern and now I want to go every season. Inspired by a great menu for restaurant week we decided to head to Monkton for dinner. So glad we did. Everything was great! The food was fresh from their garden outside and they support alot of local farmers including the amazing pork my husband ordered came from the owners farm. The cocktail was yummy, good start to the evening. The waitress said their menu is seasonal and I have to try the crab soup. Very welcoming staff, the manager checked in on each table to ensure al was up to their high standards. Thanks Manor tavern for reminding me I dont have to go downtown for a great meal.

We all had a choice from the restaurant week menu and each one of us really enjoyed our meal. Food was delicious and side porch is a lovely setting. Might be good to figure out how to lessen noise coming from Manor Rd. Service still needs tweaking. Water glasses never get refilled unless you ask. Wine bucket showed up at dessert time. Next course was brought each time before plates from course before had been cleared. Perhaps busboy training is in order?

The outdoor porch is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. The food was delicious. Not sure if they were understaffed, but service from the moment we arrived was abysmally slow. Manager noticed and offered free dessert. We decided to pass on dessert and he instead reduced our bill. This was very nice, but waiting 15 or more minutes to talk to a waitress, having to ask every time a water glass needed to be filled, etc gets irritating.
