  • "We wanted to love this restaurant, but the food was not great. Our breakfast potatoes were old (dry and ricey), cornbread was not cooked through, soup was bland. Basically, the brunch items seemed like they had been prepared early in the morning, left out, warmed for two minutes and then served later in the day. Bleh. Maybe we got the chef on an off day. The service, however, was excellent and the atomosphere was cozy. We might give it a try for dinner; brunch may not be their thing."

This time service was perfect, we were seated promptly and the menu offered a varied and enticing selections. It was truly an enjoyable dining experience.   • "The appetizers were the best part of this meal. We had the Ahi Tuna, Crispy Calamari and BBQ Beef sliders. The beet salad was just ok, nothing out of the ordinary, but good. The entrees were good as well, crabcakes, pork chop (least favorite) and rockfish special (small filet with shrimp). There was nothing that would make this restaurant stand out in a crowd, but the food was good, service fine (even though it was a very busy night) and we were satisfied. That's what it's all about, right?"

  • "My wife and I dine out about twice a week and "the Manor" is by far our most frequently visited spot. The new ownership and new management have done a really fine job ---- we like the menu; the servers are friendly but professional, and Sean always stops by to say hello and make sure that we are enjoying our experience. There is a real wood fireplace (two of them, actually) which my wife likes during these frigid months; in the warmer seasons they have a wonderful garden where they source their herbs and vegetables. Old timers will remember when "the Manor" was quite good and then went into a long, slow decline (we stayed away for a couple of years) but the new owners have really made it an inviting and enjoyable place again."

  • "After several years of not going to Manor Tavern, we learned of new owners and improved facility. Both times in 2014 my food has been excellent--fish and chips, gumbo, eggplant powerhouse sandwich. Each time a guest (different ones) has ordered the beer can chicken sandwich and gave only a polite "it's good" to my inquiry of how it was. One said chicken was tender but lacking in flavor. There was a large group this week. The servers were focused on them, so our service was slow. A huge issue was the cost of the hot tea. We asked for refills and got hot water only. When the bill came, we saw that each teabag rang up at $3! That's insane and annoying. At the least provide a new tea bag--or at least offer one--at refill time!"

  • "This restaurant was a great find for a somewhat fancy dinner. It is fairly expensive but the food was very delicious. The staff seemed to have a great time interacting with the guests and cared about our experience. This would be a great special night out, but not an every weekend place to dine just because of the prices."

  • "I was at the Manor Tavern on a Sunday afternoon. The crowd was moderate which was a surprise. The food was excellent. I had the broiled crab cakes. They were loaded with crab meat, almost no filler. For an appetizer, I had the gumbo. It was outstanding! The gumbo was spicy without being over loaded with tomatoes. Anna was my server and she was fantastic!! I highly recommend the Manor Tavern for any occasion, with any crowd."

  • "This is a Tavern so check the menu before you show up. The menu is small be exceptionally prepared. The sides are not an after thought but are deliberately crafted to enhance. The service was spot on. Attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic without being forced, fake or intrusive. We will be back in the spring to enjoy the temps and outdoor dining options."

When were sweatshirts and baseball hats introduced as acceptable dinner wear? Haven't been there for a while, and won't return until things improve."

  • "I went on Valentines day for a romantic dinner. I have not been to the Manor in 10 years. However, they changed the inside layout drastically since I last remembered. Unfortunately, the changes were not positive. The place use to be a warm romantic location. It now reminds me of an everyday restaurant. I was very disappointed with the aesthetics. BUT, the food was fantastic and as usual, excelled in every way. Service was ok. The waitress could not give a recommendation for food because she said she has not tried it all. The waitress was very nice but did not know the food - other than to say "everything is good and the crab cakes are good. the food was very expensive when compared to other similar restaurants."

  • "The menu here is much better than it has been historically. Had the standard burger and the bison burger, both were very good. French fries are delicious! Would like a little more variety in the menu, as it hasn't changed in some time. We eat there with some regularity now and are glad that things have improved!"

  • "Crowded, noisy and understaffed. Although our waitress was very attentive when she could be, she was overwhelmed by the number of large parties she tended. 45 minutes before taking our order was out of the ordinary. Their signature 'Steak & Onion' was a disappointment as the steak was cut in 4 pieces and buried under the crispy onion rings and over-cooked. The prk chop although huge was very dry."

  • "Cold and flurrying outside but the gumbo warmed us all. It was part of the brunch menu and was oh so delicious. I should also recommend the burger with bacon and egg. Bottomless Bloody Mary's and Mimosas...no pressure to move.on...we stayed 3 hours. We are coffee freaks and that was weak..only complaint! Waitress friendly and attentive. Dining area warm ...love boothes. Perfect venue to sit with 4 friends and catch up."

  • "We started with the restaurant week appetizer: a crab mac & cheese made with gouda and topped with panko bread crumbs. It wasn't horrible but it was dry with way too many bread crumbs and not enough cheese. Next I ordered the steak and onions which was steak tips over mashed potatoes and topped with fried onion straws. The mashed potatoes were VERY wet, almost soup like, the steak was flavorless, and the onion straws were soggy. I was not happy with my meal. The only reason I didn't give a lower rating for this place was because my husband's meal was excellent. He got the Beer Can Chicken Sandwich which he claimed was one of the best sandwiches he had ever had. I tried a bite and it was delicious. Maybe they should just stick with bar food."

  • "Overall, our Restaurant Experience at Manor Tavern was good, but not enough to merit return visits. It's a journey from Baltimore, and it's overpriced for what and where it is. Service was friendly, but not skilled; with every course, items and diners were mismatched, and entrees came while all four of us were still working on our appetizers. My beet & burrata salad was very good, apart from the chunk of serrated plastic in it. My shrimp & quinoa risotto was also good, but very tomato-heavy, swamping the other flavors. The black forest bread pudding, though dense, was excellent. A greater attention to detail and a more robust beer list (it's lengthy, but mostly filled with macro brews) would help make Manor worth the drive and the cost."

  • "Breakfast with Santa was awesome! The food was incredible & full of flavor- Chef Travis & his team were making omlettes to order, the crab tortellini was to die for & the salads were tasty. The use of local ingredients in all of the dishes made for a wonderful flavor on every buffet dish. Our service was flawless!. Everyone was so friendly, from the front door to the service team. The owners were taking pictures of the children with Santa & giving free copies for each family take home! A wonderful touch! "The Tavern" is getting a much needed facelift & the restaurant looks amazing, from bathrooms, to the dining rooms to the lobby, the restaurant looks better than ever! KUDOS TO EVERYONE AT THE MANOR TAVERN! YOUR HARD WORK HAS PAID OFF!"

  • "Your experience at The Manor Tavenr often depends on which server waits on your table. If you get one of the "good " ones the place is a fun environment with good food. If you get one of the "legacy" servers prepare yourself for long waits for cocktails, missed orders and an overall poor experience. The food however is consistently good, often they have excellent specials from local farms."

  • "Went for dinner with a friend to explore the restaurant week menu. Restaurant was practically empty for a 6:15 reservation. Wait staff was extremely friendly and manager walked around to make sure everything was ok on multiple occassions. Our appetizers left little to desire. We ordered a scallop/lambchop and a crab mac 'n cheese. Scallop/lambchop combo were delicious and prepared very well, but the chop was the smallest piece of meat I've ever seen and left me somewhat disappointed. Meanwhile, the mac 'n cheese was an extremely large portion, but lacked seasoning and cheesiness. Steak dinners were cooked perfectly and desserts were both delicious. Overall a good experience, although next time, I'll aim to order off of their standard menu."

  • "this is a nice restaurant but it is over priced for the limited menu they have. its fine food, its nothing out of this world but be prepared to spend a pretty penny. we really only enjoy going when they do a mystery dinner theater night then we are def. there. other than that we have been a few times on a "regular" night and it was ok. now we are down to going only about once a year when they have the mystery theater. good martinis by the way"

  • "1st timers, there for our anniversary. Given the occasion, we would have liked a better table, as we were seated right in front of the stairs and every table seated afterwards was walked by us. We heard great things about the food, so were excited to be there for prime rib night! Staff was very kind, and when we experienced some timing issues with the main course following right after the first course - directly after first bites - the manager swiftly took care of everything and we made a great friend in the process. Food was delicious, and the prime rib was a healthy portion to also take some home. They also sent a cupcake with a candle home with us, and we toasted with some bubbles so it felt very special! Will definitely come again!"

Beware…there were at least 6 deer on the roads on our way home so mind your wine/beer consumption. It is the countryside! Our service was perfect. Food came out quickly and everything was amazing. We look forward to seeing the gardens in the summertime and enjoy a cocktail on the outdoor patio."

  • "My husband and I had New Years Eve dinner at the Manor Tavern. It seems a lot of other people had the same idea, but the crowd in no way adversely affected the ambience or the service. The meal was excellent! I don't eat red meat, and was very happy to see a meatless option of mushroom ravioli among the choices. My companion had crab cakes. Both meals were just the right size, not a mountain of food suitable for 3 people, or the tiny three bites many "fancy" places serve. (I'm a runner; I eat more than tiny bites!) I know the area is beautiful in the daylight. This is horse country- lots of rolling green in every direction. For our night out, we were seated next to a Christmas tree, close to a roaring fire in the fireplace. Very nice."

  • "My husband and I went the Manor Tavern for New Years Eve. We had an excellent meal. There were so many yummy things to choose from on the menu that it was hard to choose. To start we had the seafood flatbread. It was covered with crab, shrimp and lobster. For my entree I had the rack of lamb and my husband had the crab cakes. Both were enjoyed. We had the creme brûlée for dessert. It was a wonderful celebration."

  • "We had a great meal at Manor Tavern. Started with the ahi tuna and French onion soup. The tuna was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The onion soup had good flavor. For dinner I had the sea scallops over pulled pork but on top of fried green tomatoes. Seemed like an odd combination but I was willing to try it. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Each element of the dish was good but I didn't love it all together. My husband had the ribs which were delisious. Fall off the bone good. Coffee was fresh and the espresso cheesecake was rich and delisious. All in all, great meal."

  • "After a pleasent ride through Northern.Baltimore Counties countryside we arrived to find our table for four next to the fireplace was ready and waiting to receive our party. From the hostess to our waitress, the service was excellent, warm and welcoming. The food weordered was exceptional and served in a timely manner. And finally the bill. For the quality of food and level of service the bill was very reasonable and a pleasent surprise."
