I hate live music while eating dinner. So we asked to be moved to a quieter spot.
As a result none of the servers thought we were their table apparently. They saw us, but no one spoke to us. We waited for like 10 minutes until finally I went to the bar to get my own drinks. Then they figured it out.
The menu is mostly Italian, and the food was quite good, but definitely not amazing. The service was very good once they got it straight. Our party of six sat at the chef's table and enjoyed every bit of our dining experience from the authentic Italian salads, seafood, steak and fresh pastas. Both the lamb and veal porterhouse selections are unique for this area and are the best in town without exception. The food is what I would expect to get in a large city not here. This eclipses the old Mango Tree, Yellow Dog, Chart House, Dove, Continental Flame (or Dijons) for the food by far. The ambiance of the Yellow Dog is a bit better. The only surprise was that I was charged for the glass of wine that I knocked over but seeing that it was my fault I can't fault the restaurant. I surprised my husband for a special anniversary. I had been there one other time with my Mom and the waiter remembered before I said anything which was very nice. Allen was our waiter and he was fantastic! We had the Italian Black Truffle Paste Bruschetta which was so decadent and delicious! I had one of the specials - the NY strip with a balsamic reduction and Hawaiian Sea Salt - it was melt in your mouth incredible. My husband had the Mezzaluna pasta with caramelized onions and truffle oil - amazing! After dinner we went to the bar for dessert and limoncello. We had the Carpacio d'ananas - one of the best desserts we've ever had! We highly recommend The Mango Tree! We live in Ormond Beach and had some friends coming in for the day on a cruise ship. So we made a reservation at the Mango Tree. What a delightful surprise. Everything...and I mean EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. From the steaks to incredible pasta and desserts...our entire party was blown away with how good the food was.
