  • "While we had friendly service, we wouldn't return because the food was poorly prepared. This was especially surprising because we were there on a Sunday night and there were only six other tables, so there was no pressure at all on the kitchen. I think our entrees must have sat under a heat lamp or something because we took our time with the appetizers. My filet, which I ordered medium rare, was served medium well, and the kale and potatoes were cold. My partner's gnocchi was overwhelmed with pine nuts and burned on the bottom. The waitperson was very apologetic and accommodating, replacing my overcooked filet with a properly cooked one and comping us a dessert and espressos, but there really should be no mistakes given the prices."

  • "My wife and I came to the Maine Harvest to celebrate our anniversary. We had a wonderful meal and our wait person, Carlos, was outstanding and full of information. He helped us choose a bottle of wine and he recommended Treana red wine from Paso Robles. We had never heard of it before but true to his word, it was excellent. We started by sharing a Caesar Salad that was cold and crisp with excellent dressing. My wife ordered the simple steamed lobster and I ordered the fillet mignon, medium rare. The meat was done to perfection and her lobster was excellent. The garlic infused mashed potatoes were very tasty. For desert we had strawberry rhubarb pie with ice cream. The crust was like a pastry. Service was unhurried. Highly recommended!"

  • "We had not been to Maine Harvest in a while. We were very pleased with the choices and the food was very, very good. We shared shrimp coctails and then had the Filet special. Everythng is very fresh and locally sourced and you can taste it. They accomodated dietary requests easily. Our waiter could have been more attentive and a tad friendlier but otherwise a nice dinner in a nice location. "

  • "We had a gathering of family and friends at the Harraseeket's Maine Harvest Dining Room this past weekend and couldn't have been more pleased. Our waiter, Carlos, was excellent and very knowledgeable about both wine and food. He was attentive but not intrusive and made several excellent menu suggestions. Try the Spiced Lamb Surf and Turf with lamb tenderloin and jumbo Maine scallops, it was fabulous. Bananas Foster for dessert...prepared tableside...just the perfect ending to a perfect meal!"

  • "We always try to go to the Maine Dining Room in February when they offer their special "game menu" but had not been for a few years. Delighted to say that it was as good, if not better, than ever. Our party tried the Elk Osso Bucco; Cornish Game Hen; and Pheasant Pot Pie - all delicious. Fantastic desserts as well. Highly recommend."

Might have to do with being a Monday,and being understaffed but had a long list of disappointments: no menus on arrival, cocktail had less vodka in the glass than I usually spill. Asked server if the lobster/chorizo/spinach special was served in a sauce- answer was yes, butter. Starters eventually arrived and were tasty. My wife ordered the rib eye steak with bernaise medium rare and it arrived well short of rare. Oops no problem. A fresh plate arrived 15 minutes later with the beef done medium well. We often visit just for dessert. A chocolate souffle was more a diluted soggy bread pudding. Having to ask for change (oops)sealed the night"

  • "Our waitress forgot our coffee & lines were long for popovers/prime rib otherwise I would have given 5 stars for service/ambiance. This was our 2nd time. Celebrating my b'day weekend. We were here a year ago & absolutely loved it. The variety of food from lobsters, prime rib, eggs cooked in various ways, dansom plum champagne infused smoothie soup with creme with mint to the absolutely yummy chocolate decadence cake, blueberry pie & so many other desserts are only some of food served at this delicious Sunday brunch. We will definitely go there again next time we're in Freeport, Maine. It's in the Harraseeket Inn. I've had Sunday brunches at other 5 star hotels in USA including Hawaii, Europe, Japan & Canada but this brunch beats them all"

  • "It was a special evening celebrating our 3rd Anniversary. We like to go to the Maine dinning room frequently for special occasions. The food and service is amazing. We had the lobster stew for an appetizer and then our entree was the rib eye and filet mignon. Both cooked perfectly with the perfect seasoning and flavor. We ended the evening with their souffle. It was delicious...also they gave us a white rose for our Anniversary. :)"

  • "Our reservation was at 730. We did not receive our appetizers until 820, and the rabbit confit was overcooked and dry and the porkbelly was so smaller than a piece of Bacon and also overcooked. The entrees were good and cooked well, however we did not receive them until 915. Dessert was ok, but the creme brulee was undercooked. All in all it wad not good quality for the pro e and the service was abysmally slow. We were a party of two and dinner took close to three hours."

  • "We came here for the first time on Valentines Day in 2012. I was concerned about being out on this busy holiday as we have been celebrating this one at home for years. The staff at the Maine Dining Room showed little strain from the crush. Our server was always available when we needed him but not hovering. We shared the Chateaubriand and the table-side preparation was very professionally handled. The meat was done perfectly and of an outstanding quality. We prefer to patronize establishments that serve local, organically raised meat and vegetables and this place fills the bill with class. We will be back!"

Its nice, but a little stuffy for my taste. It is the kind of place you take family to. If you are looking for an upscale trendy gastronomical experience this isnt for you. But if you are looking to quietly dine in one of the most beloved dining rooms in the area, you'll enjoy it."

  • "Fantastic!! We arrived late (9:30 PM) which was closing time. Instead of turning us away, they were very welcoming and seated us at a beautiful table. The waitress Christine was wonderful. She even suggested dessert when we were the only people left in the restaurant. Beautiful room, great food (best lobster bisque ever!) and wonderful service."

  • "My husband and I loved the Sunday brunch. We were both in heaven because we could eat lobster and prime rib. Of course, we had our veggies. And the apple crumb cake was yummy as was the lemon cheese cake. We had to take a stroll to help digest our brunch. It filled up soon so I was glad we made a reservation. We were so glad we went. We were debating whether to cancel because we had eaten a very rich meal the night before. But imagine we would have eaten more on Sunday if our stomachs weren't still busy digesting the night before's dinner. It was reasonably priced for a very nice Sunday brunch. It had a nice variety. Oh yes, we both tried the baked brie=delicious."
