Diner Reviews
  • "We went there for Father's Day, but 1 day early. It was our 2nd visit and we remembered that the food was very good last time we went. I am a prime rib lover, when I go out that's what I search for. The prime rib was excellent, and all our other meals were very good too! I love that they have a "King Cut" rib available for people like me. The draft beer selection was very good also, about a dozen choices at least. Very comfortable with great tasting food and drinks. It's about a 25 minute drive for me but I'm looking forward to my next visit. Try it, you'll love it!"

  • "We had a very enjoyable dinner, the staff was excellent and very accommodating. The food was very good, the entertainment was excellent, and the beer selection was great."

  • "Great, casual meeting spot for a reunion with friends. We each drove 2 hours to meet up and it was well worth it. Folks, they have mastered the art of the fried pickle - juicy inside/completely crispy outside - horseradish & ranch dipping sauces. The BBQ Brisket is tender, delicious and uniquely presented thickly julienned atop garlic bread with BBQ sauce and a side of tender/crisp, perfectly seasoned asparagus. The Meatball Sliders are as tasty as they are adorable (super mozzarella) and the Build Your Own Burger" was a treat. Our delightful waitress patiently waited 30 minutes for us to place our order...hey...just too many great items to consider. We didn't imbibe so we can't comment on bar offerings, but we all drove home happy."

  • "This was a nice dinner here. I had a chopped salad which was very good and some sliders also very good. My hubby had a small salad and fish n chips which he enjoyed. This place is reasonably priced and the food is good. It was a nice find from Open Table."

  • "The Main Pub Restaurant is a great place to celebrate any special occasion---that is, if you like a wide variety of delicious foods, an interesting beer and wine menu, and excellent service. Open Table recommended this restaurant and they were right on!"

  • "The service was poor. We walked in with RSVP and no one cared to ask. Order a drink and drink had no or very little alcohol . Ordered app and when it was brought was told the chicken pcs were not done correctly and would have others brought to us and it never came. When meals arrived we were sopose to get salad before and was never brought until we asked. The waiter said oooh sorry I thought I did that already. "

  • "I have been enjoying the Main Pub's food, drink, clientele, and staff for almost ten years now. The menu is A+, the beer and wine selection is top notch, and the service is second to none. Bartenders Ron and Ashley are standouts in the industry. The musical entertainment is some of the best you will find between NYC and Boston hands down. The owner, Keith, is a gentleman and one of the most welcoming, honest, and sincere guys you will ever find heading up an entity of this kind. Memories are certainly made at The Main Pub with each and every visit."

  • "Was very pleasantly surprised by the Main Pub. We went in a group of 4 for Valentine's Day, purely because it was close by and they had availability. They definitively rose to the occasion and impressed- excellent food, great ambiance, great service. The restaurant is split into the bar and dining room, each with its own ambiance and crowd of people. It's a great place to take a date or group of friends!"

  • "We love coming to The Main Pub Restaurant. There is a lot of variety on the menu, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is fun and energetic. With three separate rooms, you have the opportunity for a quiet meal, meal with a group of friends, or a vibrant bar experience. The Main Pub has it all!"

  • "I've been to this restaurant once for lunch with 2 other people. Lunch was so good for all 3 of us that I had to invite 5 other people there for dinner. The food is terrific, especially for such a large, diverse menu! Everyone at the table raved about the food! I will be going back there again very soon!"

  • "Food was very, very good and the service was outstanding. The music room is a relatively small venue, but the atmosphere is very comfortable and, again, the service is excellent."

  • "The Main Pub is a great place to go for fun food and great music. This is our go to place when we want pub food and a band. The best part is that the restaurant is separate enough from the bar that it's not too noisy even when the live music is on."

  • "Service was good as always - but I think the waiter was alitlte taken back - as I had surgery on my left hand and elbow the day before and was all wrapped up due to surgery when we came in for 11 on Thursday night - I think the waiter thought I was beaten up by my honey do and seemed alittle hesitant while taking our food and drink order?????? Not sure if you get a lot of business from Manchester Hospital as its around the corner - but my surgery was planned and not a surprise beating from my loved one!! Maybe if the regular waitress was there - but we didn't see her!! the fried pickles were undone - could of cooked a few more minutes before bringing them out."

  • "The two things I liked were the fried pickles which I had never eaten before. I also especially liked that the salmon they serve is wild caught and not farm-raised."

  • "I was very excited to see a new menu with hopes that this great pub was reaching out to a new dinner spot.. The appetizers were great but the entrees not so much. I would definitely come back for drinks and the apps. They should stick with the great pub food because they do that well"

  • "I have been to the Main Pub many times for lunch, dinner, just a beer, or dessert. The food is good and comforting, always enjoyable. The staff is always very pleasant and accommodating. On the days when there is no band playing the noise level is low to moderate."

  • "Quiet lunchtime, service was ok, needed more attended at table sometimes, example more water served , had to ask, food was just ok, one person in group did not care for for chili served with saltine crackers???? I had fish taco's excellent. Mom and Dad did broccoli soup, they liked that. Overall just ok, really did like the atmosphere, and would maybe check out other things on the menu, give it another shot! Debbie"

  • "Had the best fish tacos ever! Bob, our waiter was not only attentive, informative and friendly, he was hysterically funny. Price was right on target; atmosphere was great. Looking forward to going back. Did I mention how good my clam chowder was? Excellent, full of clams. They have a full bar and it's Martini city - a wide variety of martini's, seasonal and favorites. Parking isn't the best, but there's plenty of street parking. The Main Pub in Manchester is definitely worth the trip!"

  • "We were headed to the theatre in Hartford and had an out of towner with us. We decided to have dinner east of the river and thought of The Main Pub. The food is always good and this time it was better than ever. I had the kabob special that had Shrimp on one kabob and very tender steak on the other. My wife had the small cut of prime rib and ordered it med-rare and that was the way it came. The out of towner had a massive salad with walnuts and apples along with the appetizer platter. The manager came over and asked how everything was and if he could get us anything and at that point we decided we needed another round of drinks, he was the on that brought it to us (not handing it over to the waitress). We will definitely be back."

  • "We came here for father's day and to hear to bluegrass music. The service was amazing. The meals probably not for the diet conscious but it's ok to just have some yummy food every now and then. The music was a lot of fun and it was just a nice friendly environment. I would definitely recommend this as a place to come to just relax and have a good time!!!"

  • "Overall food choices were fairly extensive for a pub-bar and good. I had a spicy chicken pasta which was spicy and flavorful. My wife had the blackened tilapia, which was too oily. It drowned the fish and the taste. The Sausage soup was very good (also spicy). Very nice selection of beers on tap."

  • "We were a party of three, and one person arrived about ten minutes prior to the other two. He was seated and a drink order was taken, but not served until 15 minutes later. The other two people also ordered drinks on arrival and waited 15-20 minutes for delivery. It then took another 15 minutes to order meals, as the waitress did not return. The restaurant was not busy, and another waitress took care of other tables quite readily. When our meals were finally delivered, they were lukewarm and the food was only mediocre, at best. Very poor service and low quality food."

  • "Best of the experience: Staff was very polite and friendly. Worst of experience: glad we got there before the band started playing. Someone was warming up the drums for about 10 minutes and it was very loud even out on the sun porch. Went there with my 86 year old mother so glad to get out of there early. Food: Ok. Fried pickles were delicious, pastrami rueben was ok. Meat was tasty and tender but bread was soggy - a killer for a reuben. Wife really enjoyed her salad but the calamari was rubbery and the marinara - what are they using? Indescribably bad. Mom got the Monte Cristo which she liked. Two things I always look for in with pub grub are a good rueben and good fish and chips. I'll try that next time to see if this is a keeper."

  • "Good food, beer selection and energy. I wish the website mentioned that the bar would be closed for a show that night because we usually like to go to the bar and have a drink after dinner, but the bar was only for people with tickets to a show. If you go on a night there is a band, it can get very noisy."

  • "We go for the music - totally. It's great! If Don Cinetti wasn't there we wouldn't go there. Food is just ok. Service is friendly but extremely sloow."
