Great food, wonderful service, and a very pleasant atmosphere all in a circa 1912 farmhouse in Woodstock. The brunch is not to be missed! We had a party of 7 ranging in age from 4-75 yrs. and, everyone found the food delicious and the service from Marie was delightful. If you can make it to Woodstock and The Magnolia Thomas, you won't be disappointed.

We have driven by Magnolia House many times but never had the interest to stop in. We finally did and we were pleasantly surprised how quaint it is. The waitress was very attentive, the food was very good. Great for couples night out or for dining with a group of adult friends. Will definitely add this to our places to eat.

WOW! This restaurant is a hidden gem! My husband so impressed with the ambiance, the friendliness, and especially the very delicious food! The fireplace and the scenery outside with the nostalgic home feeling were so peaceful and charming. The white table clothes with the candle centerpiece was so tastefully decorated. Of his weekend celebration, he said The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant was absolutely the best!!!

The food was exceptional & the waiter was excellent. The only thing that is a negative is the time it takes to get the food. We had 4 people in our party (this was the third time) and one was a child. Our entire dining experience was 1 3/4 hours. That is much too long, especially early when they are not busy. Wish this would change and we would go there more often.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant It's an independent restaurant in a lovely old house in a wooded setting. It's out of the way for us; we don't get up to Woodstock much. But we made a decision to make the drive up 575 for a Sunday buffet brunch. We sat outside on the porch on a lovely October afternoon. We had a sweet waitress who explained the process and took very good care of us. The buffet, as all buffets. had some good choices and some that didn't stand up to sitting in a chafing dish. The fried chicken tenders were surprisingly crisp and delicious. The salmon was dry. Fruit and lettuce salads were pretty and fresh. You can also order some dishes from the kitchen, like eggs Benedict and Belgian waffles.

There was no wait, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was quiet and relaxing--exactly what we wanted to catch up with an old friend. The food selection was excellent, the presentation was good, and the portions were large, however my duck was over done and dry--not the light pink, with crispy skin I expected. My wife ordered the Chicken Gourmand which was mediocre. Our friend recommended the Fried Green Tomatoes from his past experience, and they were blah. The black eyed peas on the top over powered, and the we couldn't taste that tang from the tomatoes that we expected. Our server had a great personality, attended to us well, and made the evening enjoyable. The quality simply did not match the price.

Several reviews had mentioned the high noise level, but we found it very pleasant with a talented guitarist providing background music. We heartily recommend the Fried green tomato with black eyed pea salsa appetizer, Nut Crusted Pork Medallions with whipped potatoes and grilled okra and the grilled mahi-mahi chef's special with asparagus and mashed potatoes. For dessert don't miss the Creme Brule and Tirimisu, delectable! The atmosphere and service were perfect, with our server very attentive but not hovering. It was a special surprise treat when Magnolia Thomas treated us to complimentary champagne and strawberries with whipped cream, drizzled with blueberry sauce to celebrate our special night. We will definitely be back!

We dined here for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary and feel like we have discovered a neighborhood gem we did not know about. The restaurant was very romantic, wait staff helpful and friendly, the olive oil-honey-sage dipping sauce served with the bread was to die for, food was delicious. My husband said the fried chicken was incredible. Afterwards we walked around the property and they were setting up for a Wedding as well as serving a large party in the side room. Very pretty and nice set up!

    1. Chef needs to meet Mr. salt and Mr. pepper.......brunch lacked seasoning. 2. No signage to identify selections on serving table. 3. No employee to keep serving area clean and neat......messy serving spoons. 4. The cost of the brunch is high for the selections available. 5. The omelet was skimpy and the presentation left a lot to be desired. Eggs Benedict was a joke....hollandaise sauce bland, lacked flavor. 6. The best thing on the brunch menu was the scrambled eggs, the grits were runny...everything needed salt.

Beautiful setting in what looks to be a turn-of-the-century house, the food was excellent, and service was great. The baked brie was wonderful, the salmon (with a blackberry infused cream sauce) was perfect, and the flourless chocolate cake was outstanding. Fine dining in the Atlanta suburbs. Trust me as your neighbor. The Magnolia Thomas House is a quaint, cozy, tasteful option for an affordable but quality brunch. No need to rush or heap food items on your plate. The buffet is well stock with a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes. The cook constantly monitors it and will answer any questions. The staff is very customet service oriented and are attentive to their tables. You won't be disappointed with the atmosphere, service, food or price. A trustworthy indicator of a good restaurant is their consistant positive reviews and staff who are friendly, confident, and remain employed there for long periods. I should get a coupon for this raving review! Actually, the more people influenced to eat here, the better.

My opinion is not likely to change! It is really nice to have such a cultured, gourmet restaurant right here in Woodstock, and it is so quiet and unassuming that from the street one might assume it is a residence. Excellent and creative food from an intentionally small menu. I normally go for brunch, you can't beat it for the price.

It can be difficult to find a low-noise dining option around Downtown Woodstock. I enjoy the food at several other places, but the high noise level is not a great fit for conversation. I have been pleasantly surprised both by brunch and dinner - the food was delicious and the ambiance is relaxed and conversational. How they manage that while still being so busy I admirable.

I would have never tried this restaurant had I not purchased the living social coupon because it is not on the main roads that I travel...which is how we usually pick a restaurant to eat at. This place is a gem. We had a great evening. The food was delicious (my husband thought the menu was limited but found two more items he wants to try on our next visits). The portiions are large enough to satisfy those with larger appetites and plenty for an envious lunch the next day....just as my co-workers. The service was pleasant and professional. We were there early in the evening and it was quiet but were seated by the front window so we could view the of the front lawn

There were 7 of us for brunch at 1:30pm on a Sunday and although the food was OK, the problem was that the buffet was rarely replenished and many times we had to wait to get anything we were looking for. I was disappointed. I definitely would not do brunch again there, especially later in the afternoon. Maybe if we had been there at 12:00pm it would have been better - simply not sure.
