A word from The Madison Bar and Grill
The Madison Bar and Grill is filled with an ambiance and class that is usually reserved for Manhattan eateries. The formal dining room is cleverly decorated in a 1940s style reminiscent of a chic roadside inn. The décor works an evocative, magical mood, with bare wood floors, wainscoted walls, soft lighting and subtle touches from a bygone era.

Patrons can also enjoy The Madison’s eclectic American Cuisine at the bar, or, from April-November, outdoors in an al fresco cafe that wraps around the street corner.

Be sure not to miss The Madison’s Weekly Events, including the Sunday Jazz Brunch, First Seating, Tuesday Night Martini Madness, Thursday Taco Night and Endless Happy Hour. The restaurant also offers Private Parties and Off-Premises Catering.

The Madison Bar and Grill is a great place for families, professionals, romantic dinners or anyone who likes to unwind and enjoy great food, drinks and service in a sophisticated, comfortable eatery.

We ate there on a saturday night with two small kids outside, it was beautiful! the good was good, but I felt my dish wasn't quite as good as I remembered their food in the past. I would still go back though, I think I just didn't order the best thing (grouper). We really like this place and they have a good kids menu, but the kids really disliked the mac 'n cheese.

The Easter Brunch was OK. The food was fair and they did not refill the serving dishes too frequently. The brunch price included a drink, but the server never said anything about it and we only realized it when the bill came.

I spent over $160 plus tip for a truly awful meal. Food appeared to be prepared in advance and in bulk. Seemed to have been warmed up in a microwave, not sure, but it was one of the most disappointing "special occasion" dinners I've ever had.

I've been to Madison's several times (each time being consistent and delicious) and this time was for my birthday dinner. The food was just average. I thought the wasabi grouper was totally lame - there was a little pile of wasabi on the plate which hardly qualified as being "wasabi-flavored". The massive and mushy pile of rice reminded me of food served in a soup kitchen. The portion was entirely too big. I loved the oysters as an appetizer but the quesadilla was also lame. It didn't have that cheesy inside that you want - just dry and under seasoned. Overall, this was disappointing. The service was good but not enough for me to go back again.

We were there on a Thursday night and 2 of us ordered from the Mexican menu (Thursday taco night). It was some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. My friends chicken dish from the regular menu was decent. The onion soup dumplings were the best thing. Based on my food experience not sure if I'd go back.

I've been to Madison Bar and Grill a few dozen times, but particular time they missed the mark. I think they were understaffed becuase it took forever to get our drink order, forever to get our appetizers and then my fish sandwich was served cold (including cold fries). Generally a good place to eat though.

We were a group of 6. The restaurant was crowded early on a Friday evening. A lot of young families were eating near the bar. We were seated after the hostess confirmed we would be 6 (only 4 had arrived). The warm focaccia and dip were a treat. Our drinks arrived promptly, and everyone enjoyed their food. Our group had everything from sandwiches to the risotto special to fish dishes. We didn't try the first seating menu (before 7), but it looked like a good value, so we hope to try it next time.

On a busy corner as you enter Hoboken, this restaurant greets you. The outdoor tables have a nice privacy from the street..iron railings and flowers. We had salads for lunch...two different types and they were both wonderful. The service was great and very accomodating. Although there was a lot of activity going on around us, we had a lovely feeling of being connected with the exterior and yet enjoying our own space. Madison Bar and Grill is a place you should experience....I don't think you will be disappointed.
