A word from The Madelyn
Overlooking West Third Street, in the heart of Greenwich Village, The MADELYN, offers a beautiful setting for cocktails, shared plates, dinner and all types of parties. The MADELYN is a great setting for a fun night out!

With the historic West Village as the backdrop, The Madelyn offers an animated and sophisticated re-interpretation of American cuisine. The restaurant has a sleek modern look with a magnificent fireplace, giving The Madelyn a warm glow. The menu focuses on twenty shared plates including homemade Veal Ravioli, Lamb Lollipops and fish tacos and about 10 reasonably priced main courses.

  • Terrible Experience

Came here on a Saturday night with some friends and we were the only people in the entire place. Food was tasteless and terribly small portions for the prices, even for shared plates standards. The most plates came with quantities of 3 but they refused to up charge us to have 4 even though we had 4 diners. We were starving after ordering 5 or 6 dishes so we ordered one of the pizzas, we compared it to "roller skating rink" pizza, tasted like it was frozen and microwaved! On the upside, our waitress was very friendly and did a nice job.

Overall this place is just fine. I had a Living Social coupon. If I didn't, I would have left. We arrived at 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. It was not busy however we waited 20 minutes before being approached by a server and another 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. The martinis are made haphazardly and were quite warm. We had the Lamb Lollipops and they were delicious but not good enough for us to make a repeat visit. Duck Fat fries were undercooked and underwhelming. This was not my first visit to The Madelyn. I have had drinks here before and again have to say service was very slow and inattentive.

Loved the ambiance....cozy place for a cold, snowy evening. We were fortunate to land a spot by the fireplace. We had a few small plates, all of which were good. Loved the short rib beef tacos and the lamb lollipops. Unfortunately, they were out of several things....both in food and wine. But it was a snow storm after New Year's Eve...so will try again! Overall good experience.

Went to the Madelyn sight unseen and am happy we did. The tapas were great, highly recommend the blue cheese stuffed dates, they were fantastic. The music was the best mash up I'd heard in years, seamless and mood appropriate. The staff was friendly, couldn't have been happier with our choice for the night out.

We arrived at 8 pm on a Thursday evening, and we were the only people there. The ambiance was very nice, like a classy lounge but it also had dinner tables. Music wasn't too loud, the football game was on one big TV (which I prefer over having 20 TV's surrounding the whole place). A handful of people had arrived at the bar by the time we left. The food itself was excellent, and I would definitely go back just for that.

The food came out cold and undercooked, the drinks were meh, and the service was horrid. Don't come here to eat.

The Madelyn has a great ambiance, it's beautiful inside, reasonably priced, good food, and the staff is great. I would definitely make this place a staple in one of my favorite places to dine.

Just be mindful that the paella is priced per person, with a minimum order of two portions! Everything is great though!

The location is great. A lot of vibrant little places around and this place i just perfect. Service was lovely and amazingly fast. Portions are small but enough to not leave hungry.

  • Beware!

We went in the summer for a birthday party. The AC doesn't exactly work. It was definitely a sticky situation. It took 35 minutes to get our first round of drinks and we asked to order a bunch of things for the table to share. The waitstaff was not helpful at all and did not tell us that the food portions were small. When the food came out it was not enough and we had to order another round of food. The manager did come to apologize and they did send us a free round of drinks but by then we were sweaty and annoyed. To top it all off - each credit card used to pay at the end of the night was charged multiple times. Big mess. Diner... beware!

Group-on deal for a dozen oysters and 4 martini's! Martini's were great as well as the oysters and we got a flatbread pizza which was good as well!

Adorable find! So happy they opened this place! Great for a night out with some friends. It's a mix between your favorite local bar and a trendy restaurant, very reasonable prices, friendly staff, have big screen TV's to watch games.
