Also featured will be a Southern Style Brunch on Sundays, all day, all night....

The bar at The Lucky Well features a top-shelf whiskey collection, which naturally compliment the flavors coming out of the kitchen, along with craft-brewed beers and classic cocktails. Cocktails will include some of the ingredients used in the cooking process.

This was our third visit to The Lucky Well! Each visit has been on a Friday night as was our past visit. The restaurant and bar were energetic and a nice place to be after a long week. The hostess and server were both very polite and accommodating. We ordered the Hush Puppy appetizer with what I believe was a pumpkin butter...Excellent! For dinner I ordered the St. Louis Pork Ribs (Half Rack) and they were phenomenal! Very tender and flavorful. My wife ordered the chicken, which had a very good flavor (hints of sweetness), but some portions of the chicken were a touch dry to her liking. The Lucky Well has an excellent selections of local craft beers to choose from as well! The owner, Chad, never fails to walk the floors and check in with customers satisfaction...Great to see! See you again soon :)

It had been about a year since we last dined at The Lucky Well. When the opened I must have gone 5 times in the first two months. This last time, however, will be my last. I will continue to search for consistently good BBQ elsewhere. The brisket was dry and the usual "au jus" was not there to help add moisture. Smoke was good, however, the flavor was otherwise lacking. St Louis ribs were also dry as were the wings. I sincerely hope ours was but a one day fail and they continue to have loyal and new clientele, however, we will not count ourselves in those numbers.

Quiet lovely early dinner. Started with yummy Pumpkin Old Fashioned - like boozy pumpkin pie in a glass. Then the trout appetizer which was amazing! Especially the sliced carrot side. A WHOLE trout filleted and laid out - enormous for a starter! Then, of course, had to have my favorite wedge around. What makes this one special is the grilled red onion rings they top the crisp wedge with. Was working an event x street, hence the early dinner, so we ended the night by going back to the Lucky Well for a nightcap. Almost empty, musician had packed up but lovely bar service and great whiskey!

We live near The Lucky Well and have been rooting for its success since it opened. However, the clever décor and hip atmosphere could never overcome the badly uneven food and service. Our last visit was just that -- our last visit to this place. The hostess jammed us in elbow-to-elbow with other diners despite the fact that the room was almost empty. The specialty cocktail was overloaded with simple syrup, ruining what could have been a good combination. And the appetizers were just sad: skewer shrimp that were rubbery, tasteless, and cold, and deviled eggs that had the taste and consistency of cold yellow Play-Doh. We left. It's a shame, but the next time we eat in this building there will be a different name on the door.

We went to the Lucky Well for a birthday dinner during the weekend. Our table was ready for us right when we walked in and the first thing that I noticed was that the restaurant was decorated beautifully and was extremely clean. Our server was very nice and patient (it was hard to decide what to get!) and all of the employees that we encountered were also very nice. The meat was so perfect - it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a very nice restaurant and I would definitely go back there soon.

We came to Ambler for a play on a Sunday afternoon. The Lucky Well was recommended to us by a co-worker. We couldn't of been happier with the restaurant. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant we were impressed. Clean, well lit, great ambiance. We were quickly greeted at the door and taken to our table. The waiter came right over a few minutes later and warmly welcomed us. He explained all about the menu, specials and made recommendations. The drink and food orders came out very quickly. The food was great. Well presented on the plates and the taste of the BBQ was amazing. We had a great time at this restaurant and would definitely return. We just wish it was closer to south jersey.

We had been to most of the places in Ambler so finally got to TLW. I am not a big fan of barbecue, but the menu had other options for me. Their Well Burger converted my wife - a non-burger eater - but I have a feeling it spoiled her. The place has a nice design but after further review is simple to keep with its barbecue roots (and the clean-up from it). I saw a number of families with small children. Their main dishes are gigantic - ordered the half smoked sausage and the thing still took up most of the plate. Cannot believe I was considering the full. It is A la carte, though. I probably should have stuck with just the sausage but the fries were calling me too.

I think this restaurant is a great different flair for the area. We are from the south and if you want a taste of southern Bar-b-que and some flavorful food and venture away from the norm of italian/chicken wings/pizza that all places have up here this is the place for you. The decor is really cool and has a nice open feel. Try it, you just might like it.

Went here with some friends for the Eagles Colts game on MNF. While not a sports bar, the bar area at TLW worked perfectly. Big flat panels were strategically located in 4 different locations so every seat had a view. The tap list of craft beers is long and well put together. Home made spicy peanuts to munch on and the best Q in the Philly area to chow down on. Couldn't ask for more. If you weren't into football, the dining room is nicely segregated so you can have a nice sit down restaurant meal. Owner/Chef, Chad Rosenthal, serves all the classics but either with a neat twist or just taken up a notch so it's simply better, and a few originals. FYI, they also have a long craft whisky list. There is simply no reason to not eat here!

Four of us went for our first time on Saturday night. I am originally from the South and have consumed plenty of good BBQ. The BBQ here was very good. The pulled pork shoulder and St. Louis ribs were excellent. The choice of sides was not extensive but what we ordered was good. Being Southern I like fried okra and black eyed peas, but understand these are not staples around here. The decor isn't exotic but appropriate for the theme. The owner/chef walks the floor and seems to be concerned about his guests experience. I always find this to be a plus. If you are a Bourbon drinker there is an extensive menu and reasonable prices. We will definitely be back soon.

A tremendous addition to the Ambler dining scene! The unexpected combination of creativity coupled with good old-fashioned southern food is one well worth the trip. We had the gazpacho du jour and the roasted beet salad (sweet beets, black berries, toasted pecans and a jalapeno dressing to add bite), a brisket that would have been at home anywhere south of the Mason Dixon, and a shrimp po-boy that was as good as any we've had in N'awlins. Service was attentive and personable, we were seated immediately, the selection of beers and whiskeys was extensive. Definitely recommended for a relaxed and excellent dinner.

I had the beef brisket sandwich and the meat was a little tough. The reason I had it is because of the reviews. I am use to other type of Brisket which is very tender. I also did not care much for the smoke taste. The other people that I was with said it was ok. Not my favorite place.

The Lucky Well is the closest to authentic BBQ I've encountered in the Montco area. Wings were the highlight of the meal, pulled pork shoulder is also great. Ribs are St. Louis styles could have been more tender but the other choices made up for it. Drink list is also strong, with plenty of whiskey and bourbon options to choose from. The only negative is that half of the restaurant consists of high top family style tables where you can seat yourself. I recommend making a reservation for a more relaxed low top table.

So came back 9 mths later and it much improved! No wait to be seated (w/reservation), contentiously attentive service, hot food! Had yummy "special" fig cocktail. Had tater tot special which was tasty but sort of "trash can" tots with stuff purchased from Ambler Farmer's Market that day. A little "too much of a muchness" I had good brisket. Nice and fatty and moist. And a very yummy wedge with grilled red onion rings which was a great touch!!! Hubby had pork sandwich and was bummed as were more cubes vs. the pulled or chopped he is used to and topped w/the trad N.C. coleslaw so kind of weird. I tried the wings someone else ordered and they were yummy. Other tablemate had burger which he devoured. Dessert so-so. I will def go back.

I really don't get some of the negative reviews I saw of this restaurant. We had a fabulous meal here. The kitchen could do nothing wrong. Everything tasted great. The meet was fall off the bone tender. The appetizers and side dishes were delicious. Absolutely loved the beet salad, brussels sprouts, grits, and sweet potato mash. The Texas Poutine was out of this world and worth going just for that. The beers on tap really complemented the meal. Our waitress was attentive and made good recommendations. We liked dinner so much that we came back the next day to try some other items! Just one warning: the portions are so generous that you really have to share almost every appetizer, side dish and entrée.
