  • "When paying Four Seasons prices, one expects commensurate service. We arrived 15 minutes early for brunch, so we waited in the lobby outside The Lounge. Firstly, there was a young man lying on one of the couches, sleeping. (Reminiscent of a homeless person sleeping on a park bench. So much for decorum.) Thus, we had to sit in the other area, which had crumbs and water all over the tables. The ladies room was too warm, stifling really, and there were no hand towels in the stall. The hotel is clearly understaffed. When I was at the Ritz in LA twice over the past year, everything was spotless and well-stocked. The staff of The Lounge were top-notch, including Anthony and Jihan. The food was fine, but not as good as Williamsburg Inn."

  • "Treated my sister and her friend (both med students) to afternoon tea and it was lovely. They seem to seat all the afternoon tea parties by the open window overlooking Logan Square. The scones were warm and delicious. There were 5 different finger sandwiches and each was quite delicious. The clotted cream, lemon curd, and raspberry/strawberry jam were also great and the staff were happy to refill our (originally generous) servings. Staff were attentive yet not bothersome, happy to refill our teapots with more hot water. There were two different birthday parties for younger girls flanking us and the staff seemed very accommodating and great at handling those groups as well. One lady behind us had chicken noodle soup that smelled amazing."

  • "I reserved high tea on a Sunday for my birthday with friends. I made the reservation but found out after I got there that they only do high tea Mondays through Saturdays. They were very accommodating, but we will have to go back another time to do real high tea. I wish I had known this when I booked!"

  • "We took our parents and 7 year old for Sunday brunch. Of course, the atmosphere was delightful. We loved the food--there were so many delicious choices and those of us with food preferences (vegan / vegetarian) were more than satisfied. If you leave hungry, it's no fault of the Four Seasons! Of course we all overindulged in the simply phenomenal desserts! We thought the service was good--they were very fast with clearing the table; the only criticism from our 2 hours there was it took a long time and several requests for coffee, which seemed odd. We thoroughly love that they in no way whatsoever rush you. They were great with our daughter, too. We wanted the parents to experience the very best...and everyone agreed they did."

  • "This used to be the Sunday brunch in town! A rearranged food display display during brunch gives the Swan Lounge an airier feel. These positive changes do not make up for the inatentiveness of the wait staff and the slight yet appreciable decline in quality of the food."

  • "I come often to afternoon tea at the Four Seasons and usually the service is impeccable. This time the service was very poor even though there were many waiters on the floor. I tried many times to get their attention and was ignored. It seemed to be a different group of waiters than the usual staff. The food and the tea were outstanding but I actually had to get up and go across the room to ask the waiter for the check. I got it and then never saw him again. I wanted to pay by credit card but he never came back so I finally just paid with cash and left. A couple at the valet window were also complaining about the poor service."

  • "While the menu at this fine restaurant (housed at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel) is delectably varied the price for said brunch was way overboard. I know they charged a "special" price for Easter but said price was way over the top. However, the Brunch dining experience was an excellent one. I only had one other small issue with my dining experience. The restaurant did not have an egg station. You had to order your eggs at your table and the waiter would bring the eggs to you. This process took too long. But other than the above the service was impeccable and the food (sushi, crab claws, veal, chicken, pancakes, etc.) was to die for!"

  • "This was a lovely setting for a big hotel buffet brunch. Some of the food was excellent (the crab cakes, the beef wellington) and some was fine (the breakfast sliders were OK, the waffles had too much cinnamon in the batter). We had a very nice time, but the only major problem that while the waiters were quick to re-fold our napkins, nobody came to refill our coffee, water, orange juice, etc. And, even though the bar was up and running, nobody offered us the opportunity to order any beverages from the bar. Of course we could have flagged someone down to request this, but then again I was busy trying to get refills on my coffee."

We all appreciated the opportunity to sniff out the teas before placing our order; it saved some of us from ordering a brew that we would not have enjoyed. The sandwiches, scones, and lemon cookies were, to many of us, the standout dishes. Some of the other small desserts had mixed reviews among our party. All in all, we had a lovely time and would return again for another special occasion."

Got to restaurant, gave reservation name, waited to be seated (10 minutes) and nothing else. So, while food was very nice and very nice serving presentations, service and follow-up, so-so.   • "This restaurant in The Four Seasons Hotel was open on Christmas. It was a wonderful and fancy meal for our family. I was a little stunned when the bill turned out to run over $150 per person (including gratuity). We did have drinks and there was an add-on of a flower bouquet (which was a misunderstanding that it was going to be an extra charge. We were the last seating of the day and it was explained that we were just taking home the one ordered for the table that day) Since it was a special event day, (there probably weren't the usual flower arrangements) and there was no children's menu. My son only had rolls and hot chocolate (for $150!!!!). Although it sounds like I am being negative, we had a wonderful meal."

  • "We splurged for my birthday; hadn't been to the Swann for brunch for about 15 years. There no longer is a jazz band. There were lots of families with young children running around, which is expected for brunch. But not welcomed for the elegance of the restaurant. In France, the children would have been quiet and better behaved....and, to top it off, it wasn't brilliant. Service was good. There wasn't anything bad, or off with the food, but no stand outs, nothing creative, just the same old brunch fare at a high priced establishment. For $73 a person, I expected much more as far as creativity. Omelet station, waffle station, meat carving station, BORING! Shrimp & a whole lot of protein. Not worth it."

But, I have to say, service was less than stellar. Our server failed to bring our condiments (clotted cream, jam and lemon curd)and it was quite a while before she bothered to check back and we were able to ask her for it. She was very apologetic, but never really checked back again and we had to flag someone else down for tea refills. Just expected better service at a Four Seasons establishment."

  • "We took guests for the Sunday brunch and while the quality and variety of foods was outstanding the service was not quite what was expected in that empty plates were not being removed promptly and in fact we bused ours occasionally. We not only had to wait an undue time for our check also for our car to be retrieved. Otherwise our guests were delighted with the experience and we would take other guests in the future."

The prices are reasonable, they are per person and you get a nice selection of finger sandwiches, scones and desserts. It was something fun and different to do as a family. We were late for our reservation and they were completely hospitable and did not make us feel unwelcome in any way."
