  • "Nice touch to have our name on a chalkboard at our reserved table! The menu for the day was on the reverse side. Our waitress, Chelsey, told us every ingredient in each item on the menu and explained how each was prepared. My husband and I both chose the snapper and split the beet salad. The fish came with puréed carrots and an assortment of mushrooms. Everything was delicious. We each had a draft beer, a stout, that was very good and was a bargain at $3 a glass happy hour price. When Chelsey found out we were visitors, she gave us a list of some of her favorite restaurants in Charleston. Thank you again, Chelsey, for your service and your recommendations! We will definitely return to The Lot the next time we visit Charleston."

Cute to walk in to our reservation and had our name on a blackboard at the table :) Waiter was laid back but good, Atmosphere was cute Bohemian-like.Small menu items to choose from but everything was locally grown/ harvested. Portions were perfect and nicely presented not to mention ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS !!! Definitely will go back for dinner and try again since the menu changes continuously :)"

  • "My wife and I really loved the atmosphere. It is "cozy" and has a lot of nice touches. It is very small so it was a good thing we had a reservation. All of food I saw come out had nice presentation and looked very good. The chef was very accommodating to requests. We are both vegan and heard that they would make vegan entrees so we decided to leave it up to the chef. We weren't specific at all; just ordered vegan entrees. The meal came out in one huge pan and we shared it. The vegetables were all really fresh and well-cooked, but that's all it was - a mix of seasonal veggies. Overall it was very good, but I would have loved to have a grain like a rice underneath. Next time we will be more clear with the request. A little expensive, too"

I was definitely not disappointed and highly recommend a trip to The Lot! The food was outstanding and it is an absolutely charming restaurant. Though the Pourhouse next door can be a little loud, the food and the service at The Lot are so good you don't notice or care! The farmer's vegetable plate was amazing - if it is offered when you visit, do not pass it up!"

In fact during the decision making process we asked our server to repeat several of the items again and she accommodated beautifully! Our group has been to several other restaurants that claim farm to table, The Lot IS farm to table! And the preparations were really excellent. One girlfriend had the trout and proceeded to recommend it to a neighboring table when they were ordering. The neighboring patron decided on the trout and then the two of them had a quick mutual admiration society going after the meal. The Risotto was EXCELLENT!! Worth a return trip to Charleston to experience again!"

Also, because they had a big holiday party, they brought us a complimentary dessert of warm hazelnut cake and ice cream and apologized for the slower than usual service. We didn't even notice that the service was slow! So that was a nice gesture. We'll definitely be back."

  • "This was our second visit to the Lot in two weeks and again, we loved the food. Very different and very tasty. But the service was not as good as the food. We ordered a second round of drinks to enjoy with our entree and the drinks never came. We cancelled the drinks and they were still on the bill which we caught and the bill was adjusted. This experience will not keep us from going back. We really like the Lot."

  • "Good food, pleasant service, and decent wine selection made an enjoyable meal. The loud music from the Pourhouse, connected by a wall, was annoying at first. Luckily our timing was good, the band finished and the next wasn't for a couple of hours. So be warned, this isn't a conventional restaurant, it's the other half of a live music venue with loud bands. The desserts were just okay, but both the appetizers and main courses - bavette steak, and fish, were very good."

  • "What a pleasant surprise The Lot is! We drive by at least twice a day, but until it was recommended by a friend, we had never considered dining here. The building exterior, as well as the bar next door, led us to believe it was perhaps a bit of a dive, but we were quite wrong. The interior is smallish, but comfortable and quaint with local art displays. The food, however, is the real story. We had incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, vegetables to start, followed by kale soup and house-made kielbasa. Our server was enthusiastic and exceptionally knowledgeable re. the menu. We will definitely be returning soon and often."
