"This is a small, out-of-the-way restaurant that often can accomodate a large group well. The view is excellent of Golden Peak. The food is great and there is a nice wine list as well as a full bar next door. This is away from the main parts of the village, but it is very nice. We would go again. They were so helpful with our kids - got us warm milk for our baby and really whatever we needed."

"We loved the dining room -- cozy, with a roaring fire. Some of us liked our food (the duck and the crispy trout), but one of our diners had overcooked salmon, and was very unhappy with his meal. The kids' menu offers more than the usual fare, and has some healthy choices, which was nice. The service was very slow, and there were only us and another table in the restaurant most of the time. We had to wait a very long time for our cocktails, and then again for the food service to start. Overall, food and service was uneven, but there were some definite bright spots."

"Excellent food with wonderful presentation. The menu is limited and there weren't any specials on the day that we went. They offer full plates and half plates of the main courses and this was actually a plus for me since I don't have a large appetite. I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection and others in my party had the steak and pork tenderloin. The desserts were especially good. Very quiet; not many people were in the restaurant."

"I had been there a year and a half before and did not realize the chef had changed. The staff was arrogant and condescending assuming we only came for the special - which we did not- and a tip was added onto our bill of 20% without our knowledge, when asked they said it was policy for 2 for 1 special, but we were never told. But all that aside, the food was just bad. Not ok, but bad. I have been coming to Vail for over 25 years and have never been this disappointed in a meal. And it was not cheap! For the money we spent we could have gone to one of the amazing restaurants this valley has to offer. Just a complete waste and disappointment."
