Diner Reviews
  • "We love dining at The Lobby. Food is beautifully presented and so delicious. The service is friendly and "sot on". We return on a frequent basis. Great place to have a meal before visiting the Night Market on a Friday."

  • "While the dinner was adequate, it was not outstanding. Both of us ordered the rack of lamb. Portion size was adequate. Although we ordered from the three item Menu, when it came to dessert, the waiter did not seem aware of this and di not bring menus. The waiter was pleasant, though she did not seem to be particularly interested in our dining experience. I would say that overall, the meal was adequate and reasonably priced."

  • "The food was bland & in particular the Halibut Meal ... The Fish had no taste & the portion was ' rather too small ' for the price .. The accompanying Veggies in my opinion were from Cans as I expected the Corn to be fresh as it is in season .. The Chicken / Chirozo Penne Pasta was too dry & lacked sauce ... Overall the quality of the Meals was sub standard & needs radical improvement. ... I am a fan of the Pale Ale Beer that was served & the Melbec Wine was great as well. ... The Service was superb ... Will I return to this Restaurant - The Answer is NO unless you can prove to us that the Meal Experience will be upto standards. ..."

  • "bought a groupon for this restaurant and had a pleasant time there. service is great, the location is good, one block away from the Lonsdale Quay. Had the mussels and bison carpacio for appies and both were yummy, especially the carpacio. the dessert (choco mouse cake) was amazing, the bottom of the cake isn't made with dough or graham cracker, it's actually choco meringue! never had that before Entrees is where they can improve a bit, they were chain-restaurant quality like Earls, Cactus....For $30 bucks an entrée, I expected a bit more."

  • "We found the service was very pleasant and helpful. The food was tasty and plentiful, actually more than I expected. We especially liked the 3 course special on offer as it gave us a nice choice and the price was more reasonable than ordering 3 different courses separately off of the menu."
    Dined on 8/20/2014
  • "Service was prompt and efficient. We had a limited time for lunch and we received our food pretty much at the same time. Our server was friendly and organized. Food was delicious."
    Dined on 8/19/2014
  • "The quality of food was great for fine dining. The portions were huge and unexpected, we couldn’t finish our appetizer and entree. Everything tasted delicious. There was also live entertainment which made the ambience very nice. After dinner we went for a stroll along the pier and there a live band playing outside. It made it great for a date night."

  • "We were not impressed with the prime rib dinner we had. The meat was fine but not hot. Potatoes were warm. Veg. were non existent practically and Yorkshire puddings were cold (not warm, but cold). Very disappointing as we had looked forward to this dinner which had been recommended to us by a friend."

  • "Always a good meal and experience at the Lobby. Makes for a nice night out with Night Street Market in lower Lonsdale and the Jazz music at Lobby lounge bar."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "I didn't like the food there. My potatoes were undercooked. There wasn't enough sauce on the meat. Presentation was bland. Wasn't worth the price. I was expecting a view of the water but there wasn't. Only thing i liked about it was the live music performance on the Friday night... other than that, I would have preferred to get some food at the night market and hung out by the water..."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "I notice a change in the spice on some items. I had Cobb salad and chicken seems more flavourful. The other night I had halibut and the sauce seemed too much for the fish"
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "Had the 3 course dinner option. Great value and excellent food. Highly recommended."

  • "This is a friendly and upscale restaurant with nice menu choices, excellent service and ambiance. It's location near the Lonsdale market an the shipyard with its gorgeous sights and frequent special events make it special.it is overpriced as almost everything else in Vancouver."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "I felt the waiter was good to a,point and then the service fell off. He was not consistent with his attention letting other service staff pick up the slack I felt the halibut was excellent, but vegetables too spicy and overpowered the halibut."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "We went for lunch and found the service excellent. It had a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, where you could actually have a conversation with the person across the table from you. The food was good and the price comparable to other mid-range restaurants. I have also heard from a friend that the Sunday brunch is very good too. I definitely see us returning again with family and friends."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "It's a solid restaurant choice for the area. Service is good, as is the food. The restaurant itself doesn't have a lot of atmosphere, and could certainly benefit from some outdoor dining, but we would return, and would not hesitate to mention it to others."

  • "Brunch disappointing and very average. Thought there was buffet as an option, but none available. Not really a brunch in the classical sense. Embarrassed in front of our guests. I should have done more research. My fault! Menu incomplete....for example, fruit or berry bowl or side of bacon available but not on printed menu. Food not heated enough. Bangers awful. Do not order additional fruit with waffle..$5 for a couple of blackberries and strawberries which were hard to find on the plate. Brunch potatoes drab. Hostess had no idea what half and half was compared to cream for coffee. Inexplicably, not nearly as good as it was a year ago. Too bad. Not worth a trip on the seabus to have brunch, sadly. Service was ok, though."

  • "Service was slow and confused. Servers didn't know who was serving us. Took 15 minutes to get coffee. Was told we had to wait 20 for the buffet was open and the kitchen was closed for the regular menu items even though the other guests had been served off the menu. Eventually was allowed to order off menu but food arrived after buffet was open. I have been here twice before and had a better experience but now not sure I would go again."

  • "My wife and I took my parents here for brunch on the Saturday before Mother's Day. We weren't seated until about 15 minutes after our reservation time and there were far too many kids in the restaurant. I can't stress enough the importance of outlawing babies and screaming toddlers from higher end establishments. Other than those two things, the food was fair, the service was fair and the price was somewhat reasonable. I would not return here because I don't want to eat while kids are screaming and crying. "

  • "We went here specifically for the Sunday night Prime Rib special and it was good. Nice portion size served with mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. Could have had more gravy (it was pre-poured on the plate) and also was not served hot. It's obvious that it is pre-cut and probably set aside under warmers... not bad, but not super moist like a fresh cut would be. Overall, a good meal. "

  • "This is always a good place to meet friends. I also have dinner there, but not as frequently. I find the gluten free menu good, but look forward to a few new items. I usually order cob salad which is good. Have had other items, but always come back to Cobb salad. The service is good and considerate Patriciacoker"

  • "Took Mum for her 80 something birthday. The food was very good, the service was excellent the ambiance not quite what I would have been looking for for an older couple. The piano singer was too loud, the scene is primarily 50 something. Fun and would recommend but not for an intimate dinner."

  • "An average dining experience at The Pinnacle. Food was pretty good, and our server was delightful. Due to the volume of reservations they had tables set up in an overflow room (perhaps a room meant for larger reservations?) which had little ambiance. It felt removed from the rest of the restaurant and was sparsely decorated. Other than that they had a blues band playing which was really good."

  • "We had a wonderful Valentines dinner at the Pinnacle. It was a set menu but good choices and the food was delicious. They had decorated with roses and rose petals and brought in a small band which played some good music. We were very pleasantly taken care of."

  • "As it was Dine Out Vancouver, I decided to try your restaurant because I had never been there before and I read the menu and thought it sounded good. The booth was great, cozy but not too small. The food was excellent, the cheese, beet, fig and orange salad had the right combination of sweet and citrus, crunchy and smooth. My main course was what made me want to go there. I loved smoked steelhead and the asparagus was great. The gnocchi could have been a little lighter. Dessert was fabulous. I will come again and would like to try a lunch next time"

  • "The Dine out menu was excellent! Perfectly done from appybto entree to dessert. Service at the lounge was great but restaurant service so so... Nothing great at all the waitress barely spoke to us. There was a loud abnoxious table near us that ruined the nice quiet atmosphere we started out with... Very annoying... Not the restaurants fault. Would definately go back to try something different , the food was so good!"

  • "My husband and I live in North Vancouver and decided to try The Pier @ The Pinnacle. The table was perfect and Andre our server exceptionally accommodating. I'd advised on Open Table when I made the booking of my husband's allergies to nuts. When we arrived, our hostess greeted up and repeated this notation; very good on our part! I did the wine pairing which was an excellent way to try my various choice of appetizer/entree/dessert. I know you normally during Dine Out need to "turn the table" with 1 hour 45 minutes, but we didn't feel rushed at all! I truly can't wait to go back for appetizers on a Friday evening and enjoy the live music! This retaurant a definite keeper!"

  • "What a lovely find on the North Shore. Food was not only excellent but the serving sizes were generous! Great plating. Service from our French-speaking waitress was exemplary. The orchids and candlelight on each table helped to enhance the romantic feel of our date."

  • "Attended for my evening birthday meal with my family on a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was virtually empty @ 6:00 PM. 2 TV's were against the open bar, making it more like a sports bar atmosphere. We had the Pasta specials (good deal @ $16 for a pasta entree and a glass of wine). The food was generally good, although 3 of my mussels were uncooked, which I pointed out to the hostess. Service was superb, with an attentive hostess. Overall, the cost of the meal in relation to its quality and the service seems like fair value. The Lobby Restaurant should have better ambience and a higher food experience standard in relation to the stature of the Pinnacle hotel that houses it."
