Great for Lunch
Took Mum for her 80 something
birthday. The food was very good, the service was excellent the ambiance not quite what I would have been looking for for an older couple. The piano singer was too loud, the scene is primarily 50 something. Fun and would recommend but not for an intimate dinner."

We had a wonderful Valentines
dinner at the Pinnacle. It was a set menu but good choices and the food was delicious. They had decorated with roses and rose petals and brought in a small band which played some good music. We were very pleasantly taken care of."

An average dining experience at
The Pinnacle. Food was pretty good, and our server was delightful. Due to the volume of reservations they had tables set up in an overflow room (perhaps a room meant for larger reservations?) which had little ambiance. It felt removed from the rest of the restaurant and was sparsely decorated. Other than that they had a blues band playing which was really good."

As it was Dine Out Vancouver, I
decided to try your restaurant because I had never been there before and I read the menu and thought it sounded good. The booth was great, cozy but not too small. The food was excellent, the cheese, beet, fig and orange salad had the right combination of sweet and citrus, crunchy and smooth. My main course was what made me want to go there. I loved smoked steelhead and the asparagus was great. The gnocchi could have been a little lighter. Dessert was fabulous. I will come again and would like to try a lunch next time"

The Dine out menu was excellent!
Perfectly done from appybto entree to dessert. Service at the lounge was great but restaurant service so so... Nothing great at all the waitress barely spoke to us. There was a loud abnoxious table near us that ruined the nice quiet atmosphere we started out with... Very annoying... Not the restaurants fault. Would definately go back to try something different , the food was so good!"

My husband and I live in North
Vancouver and decided to try The Pier @ The Pinnacle. The table was perfect and Andre our server exceptionally accommodating. I'd advised on Open Table when I made the booking of my husband's allergies to nuts. When we arrived, our hostess greeted up and repeated this notation; very good on our part! I did the wine pairing which was an excellent way to try my various choice of appetizer/entree/dessert. I know you normally during Dine Out need to "turn the table" with 1 hour 45 minutes, but we didn't feel rushed at all! I truly can't wait to go back for appetizers on a Friday evening and enjoy the live music! This retaurant a definite keeper!"

What a lovely find on the North
Shore. Food was not only excellent but the serving sizes were generous! Great plating. Service from our French-speaking waitress was exemplary. The orchids and candlelight on each table helped to enhance the romantic feel of our date."

Good place for lunch for anyone in
North Vancouver. Food and service was very good but were disappointed in view. We expected to see view of water and downtown area but windows overlooked shipyards instead!! Convenient underground hotel parking, especially when raining!"

Attended for my evening birthday
meal with my family on a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was virtually empty @ 6:00 PM. 2 TV's were against the open bar, making it more like a sports bar atmosphere. We had the Pasta specials (good deal @ $16 for a pasta entree and a glass of wine). The food was generally good, although 3 of my mussels were uncooked, which I pointed out to the hostess. Service was superb, with an attentive hostess. Overall, the cost of the meal in relation to its quality and the service seems like fair value. The Lobby Restaurant should have better ambience and a higher food experience standard in relation to the stature of the Pinnacle hotel that houses it."

My wife and I chose this over
going downtown for a date night and dinner out. Both of our meals were excellent and very reasonably priced. We did the wine pairing and three courses. My wife had the ahi tuna and it was done perfectly. I had the quinoa salad and it was great and nicely portioned. For mains we had the duck and black cod. Again, both very tasty and well portioned. Finally we had creme brulee. All with very nice wine pairings. Service was very good throughout and we had an entirely enjoyable night in a neighbourhood gem. We will be back."

My daughter and I were in
Vancouver in March and chose to have dinner here as we were staying at the hotel. It was an excellent meal with fabulous service. Would definitely dine here the next time I'm in Vancouver."

I was told that lunch starts at 2
when the brunch finished. Turns out brunch was served till 3 which ended up OK, but I thought my Dad would have wanted seafood from the lunch menu. . Waiter took about 10 minutes to bring a menu and greet us. I didn't want to make a fuss but it was embarrassing as I was the organizer. The noise level was high. Not sure why but it felt like being in a cafeteria. The chair cushions were frayed, all of them. View was of the parking lot. Food was fine. Nicely presented and generous. Not a great starter menu, but it was brunch. Was overcharged for one item and it was solved, but again, it takes away from the experience to have to complain. Won't bother going back, even though I live close by."

Service, presentation, flavour,
quantities were outstanding. Delicious wine."

Complimentary parking offered -
nice. If you love a jovial ambience, being able to tell a joke and laugh out loud, then this is the place. I had the steelhead salmon and it was fantastic; the other members of our group had other dishes that were healthy, very tasty, and nicely done winter veggies are included. Service was very good the entire evening! BUT if you are looking for a spectacular view, then this is not the place. The Lobby has everything to offer except a view. Other than that, all was a great fun evening!"

Salad was good but did not come
with a salad fork, and the dinner fork I used left with the empty salad plate.. I saw pacific cod was used for the fish and chips on the menu; this is a recent substitute name for Hake, a scrap fish, that I would not think of eating myself, although it is nowadays used extensively. I believe better wines could be offered on the list, than were, and at the same price The scotch whisky list had many well known brands that were of better quality previously, than nowadays."

This restaurant never fails to
give excellent service. Most helpful in accommodating a food allergy. Perhaps their sister restaurant at Pier Seven should take some lessons from the Pinnacle staff."

Another great meal at The Lobby at
the Pinnacle Hotel. Duck was terrific and so tasty! Cooked perfectly. Highly recommend The Lobby for ANY meal!"
Dined on 12/7/2013
I am a vegetarian so I asked for
vegetarian sandwiches, I got a cucumber bite on a very "hard" bun, actually unedible. I got a cream cheese and sundried tomato wrap (bite size) - then I got an avacado topped crustini (the best bite of the lot) and lastly a boccini/tomato bite. My friend had a variety of ham/cheese, smoked salmon cream cheese and turkey bite size sandwiches. We both commented that there needed to be more "savory" snacks than sweets. I enjoyed the scone with cream and jam - but otherwise I would have to say for the $26.95 price tag, it fell short of afternoon teas I have experienced elsewhere so niether of us would come back for the tea service. We will definitely be back for brunch or lunch - it never disappoints. Thank you."

This is a super restaurant in a
great location. Our server was exceptional and attentive. The scallops were fantastic! The only down side, as with most restaurants, was it was too noisy. Would go again though."
Dined on 12/6/2013
Took a friend there for her
birthday lunch. She was impressed. Love the food, just enough of a variety to order off the menu. And when the food came, it was delicious."

First time at this restaurant -
very pleased, especially with the service. Attentive without being intrusive. Presentation of menu items added to the meal."

OpenTable 4 star rating let me
down this time! Will not be returning..."
Dined on 10/25/2013
The food was good, tasty and hot
and overall, fairly priced. My only criticism would be our waiter who did an efficient job but was not as friendly and genuinely engaging as he could or should be. I recommend the restaurant often as I like the single price menu as an option and the range of items on the menu from basic and affordable to more gourmet and expensive. Keep the wine list reasonable and I will continue to come back."
Dined on 10/19/2013
The only complaint was that the
service was very slow. I was there with a group of women so luckily we were not in a hurry. However, it did take quite a while to receive our food. The food was very good and the atmosphere was also good. You also changed the channel to the hockey game when i asked so that too was good."
Dined on 10/11/2013
The service we received from Andre
was impeccable. He made suggestions that we took and proved his intimate knowledge of the menu and wine selections. The mussels in white sauce were fresh and absolutely the best mussels we had while in British Columbia. The wine selection was broad and included many local wines that we would not normally get to try. Burrowing owl wines Cab Franc 2010 was the perfect pairing for out meal. Halibut with a mango curry sauce was simply the most moist succulent fish I've ever consumed. Highlights of this meal were the garlic bread crostini served with the mussels, and desserts! I highly recommend this restaurant whether you are staying at the Pinnacle hotel or not."
Dined on 9/20/2013
The food here was excellent. I had
the halibut entree and my partner had the black cod. Both were perfection! The Sangria was ok but it contained too much mix; I would not recommend it. We sent both back and ordered wine instead. I gave ambience a Fair rating because given it's on the waterfront, the restaurant was designed with no view. Being a local and given its location, I expected a view. Instead it has large beautiful windows overlooking an old shipyard warehouse and cranes. The architect would have served the restaurant better by putting it on a higher floor to take advantage of North Vancouver's waterfront view of downtown Vancouver. In my opinion, and obvious error or oversight."
Dined on 9/29/2013
There needs to be some soft
surfaces, ie carpeting, drapery, dividers, etc. to absorb the noise level. Everything seemed to reverberate off the hard surfaces of the floor, etc. I don't mind a certain amount of noise as it does add to the ambience of a restaurant, but this was not enjoyable. I think you really should consider a re-design of the area. It really did feel like we were in a lobby of a hotel and not a particularly comfortable one."
Dined on 9/21/2013
We had a generous gift certificate
for a dinner at the Pinnacle. We had heard that the food was good but were dismayed when we arrived to find that there was no separate area for diners away from the many people having pre-wedding banquet drinks and a large birthday celebration. The noise level was so high that we were unable to converse effectively or hear our waitress. She was excellent - attentive without being overbearing. We were very disappointed with this special evening out because of the noise. It seems to me this is a fixable problem."
Dined on 9/15/2013
We went to the Lobby Restaurant
for my husband's birthday. The ambience is very nice, service was excellent and the food was well presented and tasty. The fish I orderred was done to perfection as was my husband's steak (and he is fussy about his steak). We thought the look of the restaurant was perfect, featuring an upscale, chic, modern look without looking cold and stark. The price was reasonable for a restaurant of this calibre. I enthusiastically recommend the Lobby."
Dined on 9/10/2013
I started with the scallops in
white sauce - superb and a huge serving. For many people this would be enough for an entree. My only suggestion would be fresh bread rather than garlic toast as an accompaniement. The garlic toast is almost too strong of a flavour with a light white sauce. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection and carnivore that I am [and as good as the beef was!] the potatoes were even better. OMG - I could have eaten a plate of them! T had the artic char preceded by a green salad, both of which she raved about. Her 3-course meal came with creme brule which we shared as dessert. A very fine, slow-paced meal for our anniversary celebration."
Dined on 9/8/2013
The food was good and the portions
were very generous. Value-to-money would probably make me bump Food Quality up by a star. The service we had was some of the best in the city - friendly, knowledgable and extremely helpful without being overbearing. We'll definitely come here again!"
Dined on 8/19/2013
The food that we were served for
brunch at the Lobby restaurant in the Pinnacle Hotel was like that of a cheap joint. We pity the hotel guests who are find themselves trapped there. Cheap ingredients with little idea by the cooks of how they might be best prepared."
Dined on 8/18/2013
We had a wonderful time with our
friends from out of town. The food and service was superb. We will definitely be coming back."
Dined on 8/4/2013
Tea in pots arrived lukewarm and
had to be replaced. Service was slow, although server was gracious. Food was mediocre and not worth taking home anything not eaten. Quite disappointing overall. Definitely would not recommend."
Dined on 7/27/2013
Went for breakfast with our
breakfast package from the hotel. Made reservations online easily, had a wonderful breakfast with eggs Benedict, salmon, spinach and Feta. Our server, Anton I think his name was? Was amazing and very forgiving when I had misunderstood the menu and had ordered the wrong thing. (regular eggs benedict) I was in a hurry to get to a class for work and I made it on time. I tipped the server even though I was told gratuity was included, it was that good!"
Dined on 7/17/2013
We were looking for a local
restaurant to celebrate our out of town guests anniversary. It was pasta Tuesdays and although the menu was good most had seafood pasta which was delicious with just the right spiciness. the spinach salad was the best salad I have ever had! The service was professional & attentive. No view but close the waterfront."
Dined on 7/9/2013
This was my first time at The
Lobby. Went for a friend's 40th birthday. While a bit loud, the food and service was good. Would definitely go back."
Dined on 6/19/2013
It is usually difficult to find a
restaurant for special occasions, like Father's Day, that caters to young children. The staff at this restaurant were patient and friendly to our children. Their meals arrived quickly and crayons and activity place mats were provided which kept them busy. My husband and I enjoyed the brunch as well."
Dined on 6/15/2013
I took a client here for lunch.
Being from Vancouver she found some difficulty finding the place, but once we settled down it was a very enjoyable experience. It was ideal for a business lunch."
