  • "I was blown away by the quality of desserts presented for the Sunday Chocolate Afternoon Tea! The food wasn't sugary as I thought they would and the service was great! The servers were quick and friendly!"

  • "Took my friend here for her birthday for afternoon tea. We were three friends that enjoyed a lovely experience with excellent service and beautiful surroundings. I recommend this to anyone who deserves or is looking for a special treat!"

  • "If you want to forward my note to the F&B Director and team, they might appreciate the feedback: It was a full house, I didn't mind that. There were at least two big parties - a bridal shower and a children's party. Customers with children should be strongly advised to watch their children. This is common courtesy. The kids were playing around the chocolate fountain area, touching the food, which probably led to staff members cleaning-up the area prior to closing (this was around 3:15). My guests and I were still eating. The staff brought out a big, blue trash bin and started to throw out food! This, at best, was poor form. Food should have been carried to the kitchen and, if needed, disposed off discreetly. This visit was a disappointment."

  • "The Lobby Lounge is wonderful for a full tea with delicious scones, sandwiches, cakes, desserts. It is Old World elegance. The service is impeccable. Often there is a pianist. Overall, very relaxing when you just need a little escape from all the hustle and bustle. The house tea blend and the green passion tea are my favorites. Get away from it all and enjoy. Valet parking is validated."

  • "This is a fabulous experience start to finish- the chocolate teas are simply lovely ( and so flavorful), the sandwiches and pastries are ( no other way to describe it) decadent and delicious. My mom and I had done their regular tiffin tea ( superb) and decided the rest of the family needed to taste it- the males were leery, but ended up really enjoying all the flavors ( and who doesn't love unlimited champagne?!). They also have an oh so refreshing elderflower rose lemonade if you aren't interested in the champagne. I am definitely coming back for more!"

  • "it's a really good place for enjoying afternoon tea, but there were just two people to serve all customers. It was too slow to serve everyone there. "

  • "The hotel is hidden in the neighbor of San Marino, limited parking on the streets with permit. We got valet parking from the Lounge. Food was eye-catching, deserts were too sweet. But overall a nice place for girls chat and photo shoot. Too bad the picture bridge was under reconstruction and we missed it."

  • "Took my mom for a mother - daughter afternoon tea date at the Langham. She loved it! Beautiful decor, great service, and good food. The tea was good too, but it's the setting that really makes the experience memorable"

  • "I celebrated an early Mother's Day with my amazing mother-in-law. We shared High Tea and everything was perfect. The tea and treats were delicious, the tea outstanding and our day was never, never rushed. This was an amazing place to sit, share and enjoy! Thank you"

  • "loved tea at the Langham. food was wonderful. I would have preferred one less scone and more sandwiches, but I am being picky. The desserts were amazing. Tea was good. I would also prefer to be able to pour my own tea, but the service was great. Hope to come back again."

  • "I'm afraid they have not upgraded the Tea Room in 20 years! It is looking very dated:-) The Tea sandwiches were fancy but the bread was stale. They did not offer a very large selection of tea. We did enjoy the Pianist and the view! The server even put in a sugar-free request for us on the dessert."

  • "I have been to tea at the Langham many times and this was, by far, my least pleasant experience. The service was poor; the food was below average. Our party of six was seated at two tables of different heights that had been pushed together. So, 2 of us were sitting on a fairly low couch and the other four were sitting in regular chairs. It was very awkward. And, of course, this is not an inexpensive dining experience. Not sure I will return."

  • "The service was very slow, had a late 2PM Tea Reservation, and other then a menu we received no attention for a half hour, the tea was brought and we did not receive our tray of food, for a hour it was after 3PM and we still did not receive our tray . Other who came in and were seated 20 minutes after us, were served before us. We were we hungry because we did not eat lunch since we were going to a afternoon tea, but the flow of the afternoon was ruined as we were almost ignored, they were only serving about 6 tables between 2 servers, so I have not idea what the hold up is. The tea should be left on the table so guests are not left at the mercy of the servers coming back and pouring..by the time we had our 2nd pour the tea was lukewarm."

  • "I invited a few friends to tea for Christmas. It was their first time and they enjoyed it. Great ambience and food presentation. Our waitress was nice but seemed inexperienced as the service was extremely slow."

  • "My two friends and I had a wonderful, memorable afternoon for the Christmas tea. The tea was delicious and so were the dainty tea sandwiches and deserts. We enjoyed the piano music and were relaxing in the beautiful ambiance while laughing and talking about everything. I can't wait to do it again. We loved it!!! Plus we browsed the little gift shop and spoke to the ladies there. What friendly and accommodating people work at the hotel. Love it!!!"

  • "We enjoyed a ovely afternoon tea in a lovely stting at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena. Yhe sandwiches were freshly made and quite creative. I would have preferred the scones to be warm, but they were quite good at room temp. The service was excellent with frequent refills of out teas."

  • "We have held our annual holiday tea get together at the Langham for several years. This year did not disappoint. This property is beautiful and the ambiance in the Lobby Lounge is wonderful. We love that we are not rushed out and have time to chat and catch up. The food is always lovely, however, this year it seemed a little ambitious and we left several pieces on the server. Loved the tea choices and we will be scheduling again for next year."

  • "I was always looking for a nice place to have traditional English High Tea in LA. The High Tea in Langham hotel was really nice. Both tea and food were so good. Me and my friends all had wonderful time there. The place was so beautiful. We'll definitely go there again."

  • "From the moment you're seated you've entered into a world of classic luxury. There's low classic jazz playing in the background, warm & inviting natural light, & best of all it feels private. The staff was friendly & attentive. We did the Traditional Tiffin Tea. The Langham blend is perfect if you like black teas, & the Kyoto Rice tea is also very good. The table spread, assortment of pastries, & savory sandwiches are displayed beautifully. The smoked salmon, shrimp, & prosciutto sandwiches were my favorite. All the cakes with berries & chocolate, especially the passion apricot cone were so good. I'd definitely go back again for a special occasion with close girl friends. It's truly a special experience every girl should try AT LEAST once."

  • "I have read about the Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Langham Hotel for years. It is very expensive - $59/person. I had great expectations about the quantity of choices and the quality of the food . My friend took me there for my 45th birthday, but I have to say, we were both disappointed. For the price one pays, it seems, the food tasted like leftovers from brunch, the sandwiches were dry, the toppings on the sandwiches were dry as if they had been sitting out for quite some time. The chocolate sauce that was used for the fountain tasted like Hershey's bottles liquid chocolate you place on ice cream - in other words, cheap and very artificial. The place is beautiful, but the a quality of the food was just not up to par for such a hotel. :("

  • "I took my Mom and sister here when they visited for my Bridal shower weekend. We had tea service at lunchtime and it was completely dead in there. It was beautiful, but almost too quiet. I would recommend for small groups since there was no lack of space or tables. It's a little pricey for tea, but the tea was exceptional. The finger sandwiches were tasty and plenty of desserts!"

  • "With live piano music, delectable delicacies, and wonderful service--it can't be beat. My wife and I have been to numerous tea rooms, but Tiffin at the Langham (afternoon tea) is by far the best. :)"

  • "This tea was one of the finest I've ever attended. The location is stunning and picturesque with bridges and places to sit and take in the beauty of nature. The staff was outstanding and very attentive. The food was scrumptious. Every bite was a delight. The atmosphere was relaxed. We could really engage in lively conversation because we knew we could talk as long as we wanted. The music for the event completely enhanced the experience. The artist picked pieces that flowed together well and played beautifully. It was a pleasurable, enjoyable, and measurable experience. I will be recommending to all my friends."

  • "The beautiful ambience of the Lobby Lounge made me decide to bring my two teenage granddaughters here. It's set up with comfortable chairs and sofas, all with nice tables. Only the Chocolate Tea is served on Sundays and that was our only day, so we did it and it was really fun for all of us! It would have been nice to be able to choose the other Tea too, but the girls love chocolate, so it worked. We were not rushed and we all enjoyed tasting everything. We each liked having our own pot of tea, too. The tables are not close together, so it was quiet and peaceful. The wait staff was friendly, although I think they could have hovered a little more. It's pricey, too, but we're glad we did it!"

  • "Personally I prefer an afternoon tea with a little more emphasis on protein and vegetables, e.g. salmon, cucumber, watercress sandwiches, etc. These are well represented here, but the bulk of the selection is sweet, yet superb, fresh and exquisitely presented. If you love delicate sweets, you'll be in heaven. Scones were light and artfully prepared with many enticing flavors. The tea collection is extensive; their blends remind one of fine wines, with all the separate subtleties of flavor. The severs were attentive and very knowledgeable about everything. I had just stayed in the original Langham Hotel in London the week before, where high tea was invented in the 1900s; the hotel chain has successfully brought this quality to SoCal."

  • "We enjoyed the Chocolate Afternoon Tea. Although the sandwiches are described as having chocolate in them, they are not sweet at all so you do enjoy a savory flavor in a sweet tea. Champagne or sparkling juices are offered as part of the tea as well as a decadent buffet of pastries, fruit and a chocolate fountain. The ambiance is very nice and the view of their lawn and valleys are beautiful."

  • "The Langham is an absolutely beautiful and elegant hotel, and The Lobby Lounge is a wonderful way to experience the site of the grounds and the ambience of the hotel. My sister and I met there for tea the other day, and I was impressed with their tea selection. I had the Madagascar Vanilla tea which I really liked. The sandwiches there were good and some of their desserts were good; honestly, I preferred their savory (sandwiches) more than their sweets. The music from the pianist provided an additional touch of elegance to the entire ambience. Overall, I would recommend afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge."
