A word from The Lobby - Denver
At The Lobby, we aim to be your new home away from home. Get a great Colorado craft beer (we have 22 on draft, and more in bottles and cans!), enjoy some specialty cocktails, and have dreams about the bacon. Our menu is American, concentrating on twists of some of your childhood favorites. Triple Decker Grilled Cheese, Carbomb French Toast, Mama's Meatloaf Sammy and Stuffed Burgers are some of our most popular! We also specialize in killer brunch, accompanied by the best bottomless mimosas in town!

We want you to grab all of your friends and come in for a family meal, so we can easily accommodate groups from 2 to 25 whether you make a reservation, call while you're on your way, or just show up! Though, reservations are always suggested and appreciated! Have a group larger than 25? Contact our Purveyor of Good Times to plan your special event for up to 300 people!

We went there on NYE and they ran out of a lot of the food items, however, they told us right away (unlike other restaurants that wait for your to order it and then they say it's out). We also wanted a beer tower and because of the NYE special one person told our server that we couldn't get it but then the owner came around and allowed it! Everyone was friendly and awesome overall.

  • Horrible Service
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 12/31/2012
The food was fantastic, but the service was awful. At first I just chalked it up to being a holiday, but they were not that packed and we were still ignored. What should have been an hour and a half meal took well over two and half hours. We also received our food at different times, so 3/4 of the table had their food and the other person(s) were left waiting for several minutes. For desert, there was actually a ten minute gap between when mine versus when my friend's food arrived. No apologies for how slow it was and our server pretty much only checked in once every thirty minutes. This used to be a great place, but the declining quality of service has made it go down hill.

The Service was great; we waited almost 45 minutes for the fourth person in our party and our server was very patient. She was constantly on top of things - making sure our drinks were filled, we had the right utensils, and our plates were cleared in a timely manner. Our appetizer (Artichoke dip) was delicious and the amounts of our entrees were just right. Desserts were a disappointment; apples in the Apple Pie didn't taste cooked, the bottom of our Brownie was really hard, and our PB&J Empanada was well done. I would recommend this place to anyone, but the dessert was definitely a downfall.

Saturday Brunch at The Lobby was a good experience. Staff handled the business of the late morning well. The French toast has some delightful flavors mingled together. The donut holes tasted like donuts from our younger days - very tender inside and crispy on the outside. The breakfast burrito had some wonderful heat and spiciness from the vegetarian green chile. We had beer sodas which were quite nice. Our server, Katie, was very helpful and sweet.

I celebrated my birthday brunch at The Lobby at 10:00 am on a Saturday. I reserved space for 10 people using OpenTable. I arrived a little bit before 10:00 am and was pleased to know they were expecting me. Our tables were along the railing, which initially seemed cramped, but turned out to be just fine. More than 10 people showed up for my party, so we pulled another table over and used a nearby booth too. The waiter was a real trooper! Frankly, I don't know how he did it, but everyone got what they ordered and enjoyed every bite. The Car Bomb French Toast, the Breakfast Burrito, the Doughnut Holes... all delicious! Final word: Bottomless Mimosas!

We made a reservation for 6 people. When we arrived with four of us, they said they wouldn't seat us until all six of us were there. I would understand this if they were busy but they weren't. The bottomless mimosas were all juice and barely any champagne. I asked if they could put some more champagne in and they said we could buy more champagne if we wanted to. The service was only so-so and the food was not impressive.

I think the key to avoiding large (read: kind of obnoxious) brunch groups is to go before 11am. The food here is really good, and the drinks are not bad either. The single mimosa is much better than the bottomless, so it's worth ordering two singles instead of the bottomless if that's all you're planning to drink.

The patio seating is great! Wonderful garden views, perfect for the neighborhood. The beautiful red brick walls keep the street noise from ruining the atmosphere. Servers are very friendly, but need some reminding. The food leaves much to be desired. If they went with traditional comfort food and stayed away from "fine dining" the food would make this place a great local find! But... right now, the food is not worth what you pay.

Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with The Lobby; my experience failed to meet my expectations. Service was slow and inconsistent, the food was mediocre, and the restaurant was very noisy. I could hardly hear my date sitting across the table! Reading the menus and the descriptions online, I expected a hip place with great food, great atmosphere, and charm. Sadly The Lobby didn't deliver.

Everything here is fine, except the food. It was sub-par. The food came out pretty quick, but that was probably because only 5 tables were occupied on a Friday night. Made a rez for 8 thru Open Table and were told by the manager immediately upon entering that the outside seating (the reason I selected the place) couldn't be guaranteed even though my husband and I arrived 40 mins early to ensure that our family Father's Day brunch would go well. Doesn't a reservation include priority seating? And why should the boss be so negative on first impression? Time to rethink the meaning of Customer Service. Although the bananas foster french toast was excellent and the bartenders were friendly, we probably won't be back.

Came in with a party of 8 in a relatively quiet friday night. Service was inattentive by a brand new and apparently untrained server. 20 minutes to get our drinks as the bartender chatted it up with a female. The ceasar salads were room temp/warm. Entrees we're overlooked. Stuffed calamari was decent but tiny and dwarfed by mountains of oily polent.

We went here for Mother's Day. To make a long story short, we loved the food, we loved the restaurant, we loved the location and the look of the patio (too cold ot sit out there though!) but we did not love our server. We did not like our server either. I have never complained about service, but this time I needed to. I wrote to the restaurant about the experiece, to avoid making my family MORE uncomfortable at the table. Got the best, quickest response from the owner (?) and they even offered a gift card to apologize for it! I was very happy and appreciative of how they took care of what happened. We will definitely be back, gift card or not. Thanks!

Made a reservation for 9 for a baby shower brunch on a Saturday about 45 days ahead of time. I called to check in a week prior and I was told we would have a private spot and all was well. Then when I showed up to set up the tables with decorations, the event manager said they didn't know about my reservation until the day before! I knew that wasn't true since I had proof that I made the reservation so long ago and that I had called. Totally lied. Anyway, they did their best to accommodate us but not a great start at all! My friends and I will not be taking groups to this place again.

The Lobby has great potential, but failed to live up to expectations this visit. The restaurant was half empty all evening and we were there for two hours during the normal dinner rush 7pm-9pm. The menu/food looked good and the restaurant layout and decor was nice. The service was painfully slow with no explanation. Mistakes were made by the server and the kitchen and the apologies were lame and with no sincerity. Music was a little loud for the number of patrons. The patio does look really cute and The Lobby could step it up and be great. Maybe.

I pulled together a dinner for my boyfriend's birthday at the last minute because friends were coming into town to surprise him. I had no clue where to take what could have been a group of ten to fifteen people. I asked around and a good friend suggested The Lobby after going there for Happy Hour with some friends. I looked it up, found out they had outdoor seating and was excited. This place was perfect. Even though they had a Beer Dinner going on, they still had plenty of room for our group to sit and enjoy ourselves and catch up on the gorgeous patio. With the trees in bloom it was absolutely perfect. I could not have been happier with our location, our food and drinks, or the service.

The 5280 menu was average quality and not a great "bang for the buck". The service was poor. The waitress was not aware of what beers were on draft, was slow getting to our table, bringing the initial drinks and failed to execute simple requests, like boxing up our dessert instead of serving it as we wanted to take it home. They didn't have the wine we ordered, but didn't say anything when they delivered a different bottle, the food came without seasoning and it was impossoble to catch the waiter's eye to get salt and pepper (tables had to share)so we got up and fetched it ourselves, and the ono (entree) wasn't really edible.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 3/7/2012
The Lobby ambitiously labels itself as inventive American food. While the cocktail is inventive, the food doesn't live up to the billing. Our entrees were no more inventive than an Applebee's chef's creations. Service was spotty. A selected wine was unavailable so the waiter offered an alternative. He, however, was not able to name the mystery wine or what characteristics is shared with the wine on the menu. It might be helpful if the chef educated the staff on how items are prepared. Overall a disappointing experience compared to other 5280 restaurant menu offerings.
