  • "My family and I stopped into the Living Room before the Celtics game. Having lived in the North End for several years I had known The Living Room as a place to grab drinks but I was curious to try the food. The food blew me away. Apparently, The Living Room just hired a new Chef who used to work at several Ritz Carlton hotels. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was very professional. The portion sizes are generous and the selection is a refreshing break from the typical Italian fare you find in the North End. The Chef is very creative with the presentation of the meals. I highly recommend the lamb meatballs. I would absolutely recommend The Living Room for dinner."

  • "I go to the L.R. for brunch every 5-6 wk. I come back because it is convenient, usually not crowded and they take reservations (many brunch places in this area does not!). Plus the food is good (yummy steak and eggs) and the environment is nice. (couches, lots of light, a fireplace and piano, nice bar). That being said, the timeliness of the brunch needs to improve. Usually I blab away with friends so it's not that big of a deal, but most recently I noticed it took about 35 min for a simple 2 plate order. I also had to ask for more water and coffee... things I think should always be topped off. Then we languished as our plates were cleared but no bill came, once it did, another 5 mins before she came back for cards. Speed it up!"

We had remembered the menu offering more food and drink options, but now it's evident that The Living Room is going for a more upscale vibe with limited menu (which is fine, but not what we had been expecting base on past experiences). They definitely take pride in the visual presentation of the food, but it's definitely pricier compared to how it used to be last year. Overall, I don't think I'll personally be frequenting this place as much, because it's more of a special-event type place and no longer as casual., but it's still a great place!"

  • "food was excelent. Portions not too large, which is great for me since I would rather enjoy an appetizer and a meal without feeling toooooo full........ How ever the coffee was terrible....... That was the only negative....."

  • "When I came in on a Friday night and discovered that, while the bar was packed, the dining room was literally empty, I was pretty apprehensive. But what we experienced was a lovely, quiet dinner that featured creative twists on standard fare. For example, my husband's fish and chips were light and not greasy at all, and served with fried asparagus stalks instead of french fries. The decor was modern and classy, and the staff we attentive without being obtrusive and extremely accommodating of both food allergies and our tight schedule. This is definitely a location that I could spend a couple of hours at, leisurely enjoying wine and dinner. I hope that the word is spread, so that next time the dining room will be much more full!"

  • "I absolutely loved the food. Seriously, my mind is changed forever about Salmon. The wait staff however? They were terrible. First they kept trying to push the coat check. Ask once, if we don't want to do it, please don't follow us to our table and remind us twice it exists. We get it. It took almost ten minutes for someone to come get our drinks. She apologized profusely, but then took forever to come back with our drinks. Our meals, again, took forever to come out. We were all freezing as well, so it was a good thing we kept our coats. We didn't tell the wait staff, however, because we had already pegged them as really not caring that much."

  • "The Living Room was an absolute treat. I met my sister there for brunch. We are outside and enjoyed the sunny late August weather and enjoyed the view if the Christopher Columbus park. I had a delicious chicken and avocado club sandwich on a fantastic sourdough bread. It was absolutely amazing. My sister had chocolate chip pancakes with bacon. Our server was pleasant, attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. Overall, our brunch was quite pleasing. I am totally looking forward to my next trip to Boston and a meal at The Living Room."
