A word from The LITTLE
We are a Southern Inspired Roadhouse serving rich food, premium drinks and lively banter. Yes we can serve banter.

You'll find a wide range of dishes to satisfy that craving, including some of your favourites from our sister restaurant, The District.
Roughly a third of the menu is appropriate for vegetarians, the other two thirds are either shellfish/fish or meaty meat dishes.
Oh and we have Bourbon for ALL!

  • "has excellent food in attractive surroundings, with good service - and I am very lucky to be able to walk there !"

  • "A cool little place, personally love the tasty Southern-focused cuisine but a couple of issues that will keep us from returning - drinks very booze focussed, could get a soft drink or water but that's all. I don't always want an alcoholic drink, especially at lunch, and the offerings seemed to push you to booze (server said as much). Also, no gluten-free options other than a salad - my partner is celiac so no GF options a fatal flaw. If you at least had a GF bun she could enjoy the burger and we'd be back."

  • "Third visit to The Little District. Didn't realize it was TastingPlatesYVR night, so was surprised that we managed a resso only 2 hours in advance. After a significant we finally had to ask for menus and drinks, but service was attentive after that. Things were pretty crazy with Tasters coming and going every 15 minutes or so, but very lively and fun atmosphere. Our fish fritters, fries and Cobb salads were excellent as usual. Next time we might even share the Cobb instead of ordering one each - it's size large. All salad ingredients were fresh and tasty (excellent bacon!) with dressing served on the side. My virgin Mohito was delicious; husband tried the special $2.50 glass of smoky bacon lager, but declined a second."

  • "Good food and vibe. Painfully slow service -- for everything. It took ten minutes to even be greeted by a server. The place was not busy, so I can't imagine what it would be like on a prime night. That's too bad because the north shore really needs more hip modern places like this seemed to be -- and still could be if they could solve the service part of their operation."

  • "Our group of 6 went for the bourbon celebration last weekend. The food and drinks were good, as was the atmosphere. Pulled pork was on special; it was very tasty but I thought they could have piled more meat on the bun. As the meals appeal particularly to men, big portions are a must! The service was very friendly but a bit slow. Our fellow forgot a couple of things but brought them right away when we inquired. We liked the open kitchen and funky atmosphere. Nice that they had the World Cup game projected on the wall for those hard core sports fans. We will be back for sure!"

  • "This was our first time to go to that delightful restaurant for lunch. It was a beatiful day and we sat at the back outside. The food was great as was the service. My friends and I will certainly be back."

  • "We were sat quickly, but weren't acknowledged again for over 20 minutes despite our attempts to get the servers attention. As we started looking up other restaurants to go to instead, the bartender finally noticed we hadn't been seen and took our order. The food took an incredibly long to come out, and when we eventually got our mains I was dismayed to find mine was soggy and inedible. Of course, no one came back to check how our food was so I didn't have the opportunity to let them know, and ended up paying $12 for something I hardly ate. Staff seemed nice, but there were two few of them schedule (3 in total on a busy Sunday - 1 who didn't seem to do anything) and I don't think the kitchen was equipped to deal with the incoming orders."

  • "Little District has got to be the hippest restaurant on the N. Shore. We saw the owner on TV news making cocktails and made a reservation. What a find! After our 1st visit, we took friends back within the week and haven't stopped talking about it since. Great cocktails, speciality Bourbons and good old Southern Comfort food to die for. The menu is concise - two thumbs up for the Corn Fritters and Chicken and Waffles. The Fish Tacos and Steak and Frites were also good. Be prepared in this long and narrow space to feel jammed in and crowded - but that's partly what gives The District such a great urban vibe. They could use one or two more gluten free choices and some draught wheat beer, but otherwise, they've got a good thing going on."

  • "Cozy little restaurant wih upscale menu neighborhood feel decor and prices. Waiter was friendly and tentative. Space is small though so be prepared to run elbows with your neighboring diners. "

  • "I had a great lunch here with a client recently. I had the asparagus soup with parmasean and capicola along with a really decent Cobb salad. My client had the fish and chips which looked incredible. Overall, the service was very personal and friendly and our only complaint was that they didn't have decaf coffee. I would definitely come back and order the burger next time--HUGE!"

  • "It's little, but cute and cozy. You'll be dining cheek-by-jowl with the patrons at the next table. A great spot on Lonsdale (near 13th) for unpretentious food, quick service and a busy, fun, noisy, vibe. "

  • "This is a wonderful find in the mid-Lonsdale area. We booked for an early dinner and really enjoyed our meal and the wine. By the time we were leaving, the LITTLE was getting very busy and it has very LITTLE space - you can't help but almost being part of the conversations around you. It's fun there, we will definitely go again. Thank you."

  • "We had a great time, loved the food and the service, and the mason jars that our water was served in. My only complaint was that my white wine was served at room temperature."

  • "The Little sums it up - very quaint little restaurant in Lonsdalde corridor. Food was great but wine on the pricey side."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "We had a problem with one of our dishes being under cooked. The matter was handled very well and very professionally. We would go back. The noise level was high only because of one big birthday party,"
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "Great food and hip décor; the tables are very tight together so it's a bit of a squeeze. Good value. A nice neighbourhood restaurant in North Van's Lonsdale district. Worth checking out."

  • "Food was good, a bit high priced, music WAS VERY LOUD! Hard to talk across 18" of tabletop to anyone else. Go here if you want to eat good food, but don't care to converse with anyone. Service was excellent."

  • "Very nicely decorated, very relaxed atmosphere, back ground sound very minimal, tasty food, reasonable price...for sure will.go back"

  • "My friend and I both enjoyed our first experience at The Little. We went on a Wednesday night for dinner - even on a weeknight, the vibe was energetic and the restaurant was pretty full. Our server was efficient and friendly. The mojito I had was absolutely delicious! The fish tacos were awesome (except for a few massive chunks of raw onion). My friend had the grilled cheese & tomato soup - she raved about the grilled cheese but said the soup was a bit bland. The overall experience was fun! You are sitting practically on top of your neighbours and it's impossible not to interact with them to some extent. That's both good and bad! It's social & fun, but also awkward if your neighbours start drunkenly making out (yes, it happened)."

  • "Great food but it's a loud place and you sit super close to the next person"
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "The place is narrow! Was full, not too loud, service, outstanding! Fish tacos, great, mussels will draw me back, they were fab! Caesar salad, pricey for portion size, and needs a garlic kick. Over all a great first impression, will definitely return, soon!"

  • "The food was very nice; the service was attentive but not too obsequious; and it was very noisy so bring your strong voice or an ear trumpet."

  • "The food here is pretty standard for North Vancouver restaurants, Unfortunately the "bar" over here is set pretty low. If you like the meals at the other district restaurants, then you'll like it here. If you are looking for more, I think for now you still need to drive across the bridge. This group of restaurants seem to be trying to do something like Bin 941 in Vancouver. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the food isn't even close."

  • "Loved this place! Good atmosphere and great friendly service. Moules frites are a must! Good selection of drinks as well. I'm so happy to have a place like this in North Van."

  • "Good food, great service but I was a little upset when I got my $14 glass of wine in an ikea wine glass. The selection was ok, but not as good as it's sister restaurant the District. Lots of deep fried items."

  • "My husband and I went to The Little Saturday night and had a great meal with excellent service. This is the second time I have been and I have not been disappointed either time. Mussels were very good, cod fritters and fried oysters vey tasty and Quinoa salad very healthy. I would have had the Cobb salad again, as it was so good the first time, but I wanted to try something different. This is a perfect neighborhood restaurant with a great vibe so no need to head over to Main St. Small but good beer and wine list and my husband had a whiskey sour that he said was very tasty. Cannot say enough about how good the service was. Only wish there were a few more lighter main menu choices."

  • "Finally folks are realizing that central Lonsdale needs some decent places to eat. The Little is pioneering this movement with a fantastic spot that would work really as a place to meet up with friends or for a fun date night. Like their other places, the District and El Matador, the food, service and vibe are all really tight. Well done the Little!"

  • "Our first time at this Restaurant and as soon as we walked in we received a warm welcome and looked at a beautiful long room with one row of continues tables and one solid long bench against the brick wall. Our server was super genuinely friendly and gave us enough time to to put in our order. The food was outstanding. The mushroom soup (daily special) was well seasoned and nice and hot. The Burger was one of the best we have ever tried, the meat had so much flavour and perfect seasoning, if the Burger had not been so big, we would have had another. Overall, just a perfect meal out cannot wait to go back!"

  • "I chose the Little for it's reviews, easy parking and directions, menu and ambience. The seating is a series of long tables in a single row, with an industrial vibe: brickwork, lanterns, poilished wood and a cosy feel. The menu is small but so is the kitchen...they could not prep elaborate or multiple dishes in their space. Everything was outstanding: we had grilled cheese sandwhiches oozing cheese along with a rustic tomato soup. I had hot chicken wings and was happy to see they were boneless, along with a glass of Sauv Blanc. The beer is only $3 for a glass! Other Nurses in my group had the fritters which came in a cone served with the most delicious dip. My husband had the fish and chips..the fries were really good. Well done, Little!!"

  • "I saw this place on my way to work. Great food, ambience, and service. I had the crab cakes, it was delicious however it was really small for the price. Overall great new place for drinks and dining. Will go there aagain."

  • "It's great to see another restaurant with a good atmosphere and menu in this area. The space is very narrow, but well done in style and decor. We shared some mussels (similar to the main district, they get the biggest, juiciest mussels), plus a tasty salad. The menu is still pretty small given they are so new. They were out of a number of wines and menu items but I expect that will change as they get busier/people get to know about it."

  • "I went to the little with 4 of my friends. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The good was fantastic and I loved the cozy, social feel of th place. May want to make a reservation when going with more than 2 people."

  • "Delicious food. Friendly staff- took a long time for food due to small kitchen. It was a little too crowded nearly sitting on the laps of the table next to us and in need of some drink specials. I love seafood so menu was great but in need of more non seafood options as well. BEST FISH TACOS!"

  • "North Van definitely needs more places like The Little. Almost made me feel like we were in Gastown instead. Cool little hidden gem, narrow and cozy brick-walled interior. Great for dinner/drinks with friends. Music was great, staff was nice and not pretentious at all. We shared corn fritters, fish tacos, steak frites and Quinoa salad - all yummy. Mojitos served in mason jars were delicious!"

  • "How do you screw up Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese? Soup: Take a can of diced tomatoes, add a handful of crushed red chilies; blend; heat to lukewarm and serve. Grilled Cheese: Lightly butter two pieces of bread, add flavourless cheddar; grill then let sit for 15 minutes until ice cold. Evasive service. To be fair, my two friends had the Caesar and Cobb salads and thought they were good - maybe the trick is to order something cold but I won't be back to find out."
