  • "I would recommend this restaraunt for a large party, due to the noise. The tables are close together with little privacy, so I could here three conversations in addition to my wife's. My food was average for the price. My wife loved hers though."

  • "Very much enjoyed the Wednesday lunch special with veal wedged between eggplant and a seafood stuffing. With a generous salad and side of mashed potatoes, this was a bargain for $12."

  • "The restaurant is great for special occasions and when you want a light dinner. The atmosphere is very romantic . Food is good but could be improved for the price."

  • "parked 2 blocks away and was hoping the food would be great, it wasn't, menu needs and up date badly, staff needs more training. they were out of the first 2 wines we chose and could not recommend anything else. the spurs game was going on right behind us ( we are from San Antonio ) so the staff was around but mainly to watch the game. its a same such a great location with some much needed updating could be the Top place to eat. Think we will pass next time there"

  • "My husband and I went with two friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. Our son who lives out of state found out that we were going there, called the restaurant, made arrangements for payment, and requested a special desert. The restaurant carried out his requests without a hint that this had happened until the dessert was presented. The hostess was very agreeable to seating so that we were not in a dark corner. (The young couple who later took that spot and appeared to be there for a romantic dinner, didn't seem to mind having that spot at all.) We truly had a wonderful dining experience."

  • "We recently visited The Little Village for the first time just my husband and I. We were seated right at the entrance at the door. The place was extremely loud due to prom. The entire layout of the place was awkward and it obvious there was no good places to seat especially for a quiet romantic evening. The service was really the only positive. The food was okay. We started with the bread. It was good but did fall below what we had expected after hearing about it so much. Then we had two entrees. I disliked my entree so much I wouldn't eat it. I was never asked about it by the server. My husband's was delicious but the portion of this dish was very disappointing. All in all we overpaid for an average night in a bad atmosphere!"

  • "I was with a group of 6 on a mid-week evening. The noise level was moderate but we could still hear each other. The food selections were in credible. One of my favorite dining locations. Thank you for the Great Experience. "

  • "Outstanding service and even better food. Business dinner with colleagues from Los Angeles, Sacramento, Atlanta and Indianapolis - Everyone ordered something different and we all raved about our dinners! BTW - Don't skip the bread -- it's the BEST! We are all looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to Baton Rouge. "

  • "Although we had a reservation, we had to wait 35 minutes for our table. "

  • "More than often I eat lunch as opposed to dinner since I work downtown. I find the selection, service and flavor very good. We went this last time for a post graduation dinner. As there were others doing the same the restaurant was crowded and service was slow. We arrived a bit early and had to wait well beyond our reservation time to be seated. We did have a good experience sitting at the bar chatting with the bartenders. "

  • "We went to the Little Village- downtown for the first time to celebrate a college graduation with a party of nine. The service was excellent, and the dining experience was outstanding overall. Everyone commented on what a good time we had."

  • "Our family loves Little Village for special occasions. The food is always good. Tight quarters the day we went, on a Friday night. The place was jam packed with people! Still, had a great time."

  • "Exceptional service AND food! The waiter was attntive but not overbearing. The fish was fresh and overall it was the best meal I have ever had and I travel extensively across the globe for business."

  • "Wonderful selection, great wine list and outstanding service. The Little Village is a Baton Rouge gem for fine dining with emphasis on italian food. "

  • "Not my first time there but it WILL be the last. Restaurant didn't have my reservation although I reserved through OpenTable & have never had a problem before. Luckily restaurant wasn't busy. Service was mediocre. Food tasted good, however portions were ridiculously small! I don't remember them being that small before! Food could've been a child's plate! My mom & husband ordered pasta. It was in a tiny bowl w/ a huge rim to make it look bigger. My chicken breast was a small pounded down 1/4 of a boneless breast. We all left hungry after dinner. My mother is a tiny person w/ a small appetite & even she was left hungry! I don't mind paying a hefty price for a meal but this was NOT worth it. Value and quality did not justify the price."

  • "I can't complain about the food; what was served to me was very good. However, the atmosphere was not what I expected of a high-end restaurant like this one. A very open floor plan that is more conducive to a casual dining establishment, it provides no room or spaces for intimacy or a little privacy one might expect from a restaurant in this price range. I felt like we were sitting too close to the tables next to us with absolutely no buffer in between. It was hard not to look at the plates ordered by the patrons next to your table"

  • "Server was overwhelmed therefore gave underwhelming service. For the price we paid I would expect better service."

  • "We just moved to Baton Rouge and were looking for a white table cloth experience that would be memorable. A friend recommended this restaurant to us by telling us her father used to bar tend there and that it was a hot spot for celebrities when they were visiting the city. We moved from Los Angeles so this piqued our interest. The place is immaculate and gorgeous. The service was warm and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit."

  • "The noise level was high, but only because the night I went there were two groups of kids eating there for prom. I have no doubt that on a normal night it would have been much more tame. Great place to bring your loved ones."

  • "We took our son there for his birthday celebration and were most impressed with the drinks, bread (awesome!) appetizer (lobster Bisque) and fab entrees. The desserts were scrumptious and their presentation was beautiful. If there was anything negative it was how fast each dish was brought out. We were done in an hour! Not as leisurely as we like to dine. We have recommended Little Village to our family and friends. We also liked that fact that there not a lot of kids or crying babies in there. We had a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. Thank you!"

  • "Our server was good but the kitchen couldn't keep up with the diners in the retaurant and serve 100 people in a private party"

  • "It was our anniversary and my wife had been wanting to try this place. I read a lot of reviews that said it was nice but the food was bland and that's how I would describe it. We ordered the bread and also the artichoke bottoms so we could dip the bread in the crab sauce. Great idea! And then it was so so from there. The seafood fettuccini was just ok. I've had better at Zeas or Sammy's . My wife got the veal Marsala , again, good but not worth the price. We spent 120.00 and for that there are much better places in town. Service was good but no bread/water server. The experience would have been much better with more attention to the table."

  • "I did NOT enjoy my visit to The Little Village on 3-19-14 because the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was absolutely TOO SMALL - barely enough to hold in one cupped palm. The bowl it came in was small, but the rim was wide to make it look like a big "plate". If they served it in a regular bowl, it would have looked even more insignificant. When the waitress asked if everything was ok, I thought she was joking. I'm a grown man; this was barely enough to fill a 9 year old. I said nothing because I didn't want to ruin the experience for my girlfriend (our 1 yr. anniversary). Luckily her meal turned out fine. The real crime is they charge $20 for what was actually only worth about $7. Summary: Over-priced. Disappointing. STAY AWAY."

  • "When I lasted attended, it was a family dinner with 4 adults, a toddler and an infant so we were considered a large party. So, that gave the waiter the automatic gratuity without putting forth a real effort, if any."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at The Little Village Downtown. It was a little on the noisy side, but it was still a good experience."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The service I received on 3/11 was less then stellar. It was like the waiter would rather be doing something else. I emailed the restaurant but haven't heard back.. Seems like there not interested in repeat customers."

  • "Two of us had chicken parm, and both were tough. One ordered beef manicotti and was not thrilled with it either."
