  • "We were visiting Wilmington during restaurant week and figured we'd check out Little Dipper for the first time. We were so pleased with our meal and the service!! It is so much better then Melting Pot and other chain fondue restaurants. We will definitely go back next time we are in town!!"

  • "Great deal for Encore Restaurant Week. Havarti Dill fondue is the best!! We prefer to support local businesses than chains."

  • "We had always wanted to eat at the Little Dipper, and decided to go during "restaurant week". We brought two out of town guests, and were amazed at how good the food and service were. We started with a cheese fondue (several types of cheese to choose from), and the vegetables and bread were fresh and so good with the cheddar ale cheese we chose. Salads were next (I think there were soups as well, but we all chose the salad), and there were several to choose from - all were great! And the portions were very large. The main entree was your choice of three meats or fish, and , again, plenty of food, and all very fresh and delicious. The chocolate fondue for desert, served with fruit, marshmallows, and pastry, was unbelievable. Fantastic!!"

  • "Great food, good service. Loved the atmosphere. Not too expensive."

  • "Quite honestly, the food is not out of this world. It is really good mind you but not mind blowing. The experience is unique and fun but the star if the night for us was the service. Our waiter was great! He helped guide us throughout the menu with great patience and expertise. I guess the only thing negative about the experience was the groups of teenage/college girls that were so loud throughout the dinner. Otherwise a nice, unique dinner that should be repeated every now and then."

  • "The food was alright. The service was good. But I was expecting this place to be as good as or better than the melting pot. It just didn't do it. The food was decent but nothing special. If I were to get fondue again I would just go to the melting pot."

  • "My boss and I came to The Little Dipper to try something different and that is exactly what we got! The setting was pleasant and the servers were very friendly and energetic, if not too much so. Still I was initially turned off to find out that you have to cook your own food and it takes a little practice to get it right. This really wouldn't be an issue if the prices weren't so high but when a entrée for two costs $55 you really don't want to mess up your first few pieces of filet mignon while your learning. Still, it was a highly enjoyable experience and I intend to bring more of my friends there on special get away weekends."

  • "A coworker recommended The Little Dipper to me for their Ladies' Night specials, and I went with a friend. The restaurant was beautiful - great ambience, particularly in the late evening. We had cheese fondue (Tuscan), split a grilled cheese (fontina) and chicken & shrimp, and enjoyed the Triple Play for dessert. What a fantastic evening. Absolutely delicious, I'd definitely come back."

  • "Wow! Another amazing birthday dinner thanks to the little dipper."

  • "We got the Date Night special which is a prix-fixe 3 course meal (cheese, entree, dessert) including wine/beer pairings that was good value for money. The fondue was good but I would have liked a couple more pieces of meat for the entree but by the end of the meal we were stuffed. Great selection, friendly staff, and definitely somewhere we'd go back to the next time we're in Wilmington."

  • "A fun way to eat dinner if you are not in a hurry. You start with your choice of a cheese fondue, all delicious, with bread, vegetables, and fruits for dipping, then you choose a salad with good dressing choices, and finally the entrée. We usually go with the "Undecided" entrée where you pick three different meats, one vegetable, and three sauces. You have a choice of cooking mediums; we usually go with the diet friendly chicken broth which works well for us. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they brought a piece of cheesecake with a candle, but we still ordered a tasty small Chocolate Delight fondue which was chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel with fruits, cream puffs, and pretzels for dipping. It was all very filling and delicious."

  • "This is the third time I have taken first timer(s) here for a celebratory dinner. Never a disappointment - always inviting and quality service from the moment you come through the door until the moment you leave. Nothing is a better gift for a gift giver than to take someone out and have consistently excellent service. Thank you - everyone at the Little Dipper you all are top notch!"

  • "Spent three and a half hours catching up with our niece and a friend of hers over every course available and finished with a desert platter that was excellent. This is the second time we have visited and the first time was awesome as well. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food was great!! they didn't try to rush us through, and we enjoyed the time with our niece so much. There are a lot of good restaurants in Wilmington, but I will have to try only a few, as we want to eat at the Little Dipper each time we visit."

  • "I love going to this place, always a treat. A fun place to go for a nice dinner and spend a few hours getting the whole experience of the full meal fondue or just pop in for some cheese or chocolate. They do a great Ladies Night Special on Wednesdays, but make reservations because it will fill up fast. The have a great Specialty Drinks/ Martinis list and a hearty sized wine list. Here is the hits list: Jalapeno Cheese Tuscan Cheese Fontina Cheese Port Wine and Beef broth **Seafood is always fresh as well as the filet and chicken, the ravilois are always tasty as well We get the Supreme Desserts and it has sooo many goodies I have all the chocolate and they are all amazing... you can;t go wrong with any of them"

  • "My boyfriend and I came here for a Valentine's Day celebration and absolutely loved the food. I got the salmon and he got the mahi, and both were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delectable. However, we had checked out the normal menu online beforehand and saw reasonable prices, but their Valentine's Day menu was pretty pricey. We didn't realize there was a special menu - but now we know! Other than that, it was sooo good. I would definitely recommend a friend here."

  • "Absolutely, and completely enjoyed dining at the Little Dipper Restaurant. The staff was kind, courteous and attentive and the food was wonderful! There is another fondue restaurant in town and it does not compare to the Little Dipper. If you are looking for a romantic spot to dine...this is the place to go!"

  • "My daughter and I went out to dinner here. We loved the fontina cheese fondue starter. Our main course included seafood and beef that came with sauces and recommended cooking times. Our final course was the chocolate fondue with fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a very special time together. This would be an ideal place for a romantic dinner."

  • "Food quality is high, but the portions are incredibly tiny considering the cost. Fondue restaurants typically try to zero-in on romance, but not this place. It was kind of loud, and the seating was terrible. At our 2-top, patrons must sit side-by-side, which is unusual but not unheard of. The waiter was bossy to be such a scrawny little kid! He was too loud, and while we were deciding what we wanted to eat, he must've stopped by the table at least four times to yell out instructions on how to order in a fondue restaurant, even though we assured him that we knew what we were doing and that we would be fine. He was a nice kid though, and meant well. Lastly, this place costs as much as a "high-end" fondue place, without the high-end ambiance."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our 19 year anniversary. We had been to the Melting Pot on several occasions in the past and sorry we won't be back. When I found the Little Dipper in Wilmington we had to give it a try. First of all the Little Dipper was so much more of an intimate restaurant. Our server Rikki was excellent at his job to ensured that we had a wonderful evening. We started off with the havarti and dill cheese fondue, salads and then lobster, tuna, shrimp and filet. What a great evening! If you get the opportunity to stop in Wilmington for a day ensure that you go by and visit the Little Dipper. By the way check out the little jellyfish that they have in a fish tank in the Bar area as they change colors throughout the evening."

  • "I love this restaurant!! I have a friend that has come to visit me a few times since I've moved here. I joke with him that he isn't coming to see me but rather eat at the Little Dipper. I have never had a bad experience, only memorable moments."

  • "My wife and a good friend celebrated their birthdays together with the husbands tagging along. Server was great, manager stopped by to wish birthday cheer, and the pacing of the meal was great, all the way to the unexpected cheesecake with candles birthday ending. Great dining experience!"

  • "We enjoyed the Little Dipper. If you are looking for something different that promotes discussion and interaction, this is the place. The wait staff was wonderful and involved. The fondue was excellent and the choices were endless. We had a great time! Wine was great too!"

  • "the food was good. atmosphere was average, the seating we were assigned was cramped. there were "upgrade charges" that I wasn't informed of by our server. I didn't realize certain items were upgrades. it was our first visit to a fondue restaurant, it was my husbands birthday and I didn't want to spend a lot of time trying to figure out the menu, so we just ordered an $85 meal that according to the menu included everything (appetizer, salad, 4 dips plus meal) but drinks and dessert (missed the fine print) and I had to ask for refills on my drink, sweet tea not alcohol. we drove in from Jacksonville, a little over an hour drive, again the food was good and the experience was kind of cool but it's not likely that I'll return."

  • "The Little Dipper is a phenomenal restaurant for all ages and all kinds of foodies! It was one of the most relaxing, entertaining, and engaging experiences I've had in a while. Our server was prompt and accommodating, and he had a great sense of humor. I felt like I was with a group of friends in my own home, and at times I completely forgot that we were in a restaurant! I will definitely be coming back to The Little Dipper and I have already recommended it to several friends and family in the area."
