  • "What a fabulous spot! It's just one of the coziest, romantic, fun & unhurried dining experiences I've ever had. A local shared this little gem of a restaurant with my fiancé and I and now anytime we are in town visiting we make sure to make our way to the Little Dipper. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed."

  • "Cheese & chocolate on Mondays and Wednesdays is the way to go! Instant Karma is my favorite though! Great atmosphere & the staff is wonderful! I will say though that the hostess could have been a little more enthusiastic but I'll still give this restaurant 5 stars."

  • "Excellent as alway. However the portions are shrinking. These is less to dip and less to dip into."

  • "we got the meal combination that included the lobster tails for 2. between all courses, we were there for about 2.5 hours. It got a little nosy but we weren't rushed and the staff was very helpful and willing to answer any questions we had and offer suggestions (it was our first time there). Would go back for another special occasion."

  • "Fondue is really expensive! But the selection and flavor of the food is amazing and is worth the money more than a "gourmet" restaurant. We can only afford to go there on special occasions, but we do recommend it to people to at least try once."

  • "This is our go-to spot for special events. We went 4th of July and were able to walk down to the river to watch the fireworks - William, our server was very solicitous making sure we had enough chips and other goodies to dip (can't waste ANY cheese or, God forbid, chocolate!). Since we were on a timeline (for the fireworks) he kept us on schedule and got us everything we needed quickly."

  • "This is one of our all-time favorite places to eat. We go every time we come to the beach and love the experience. Plan on a two-hour meal and come hungry. My only complaint is that it can be loud in there."
    Dined on 7/1/2014
  • "Went on a Friday night with a date and had a good time. The one issue was with another customer that brought their loud toddler with them. This is a nice place with separate rooms so a loud child is amplified in a smaller room. Service was great and food was really good and we took advantage of the Friday night special so the cost was reasonable. We will be back."

Went out with some girls from work and we are planning on making it an at monthly ritual. Would love to make it an every week routine so we can try all the great menu items. From service to food to decoration, everything was AMAZING!!!"

  • "Little Dipper makes things fun with a great wait staff, lots of choices and a nice set up to eat indoors or outside. They have very good daily specials - most notably on Monday afternoons. The Little Dipper has a cool bar and is in walking distance of all the fun things to do in the downtown Wilmington waterfront."

  • "I discovered this place online and decided to treat my girlfriend for Mother's Day. I reserved a table online and even though we showed up an hour and a half early, they found a nice little table for us. The entire staff from host to server was very friendly and seemed to really help each other out if someone needs it. Unfortunately, I do not remember our server's name but she was fantastic. She knew exactly what she was talking about and even threw in some suggestions since it was our first time doing fondue. We were visiting North Carolina from Connecticut so unfortunately we couldn't stay longer but WHEN we go back to Wilmington this will be one of our stops."

  • "If it's a local shop or eatery, we will always give it a try. The Little Dipper offered what we look for: great looking food (Who knew fondue could be so creative?!), passionate personnel and nice ambiance! We chose Mother's Day--though most food/beverage servers can be overwhelmed and thus unpleasant! Ours kept her cool--"Brittany" had fun with our entire crew, including MY quirky personality--while never missing a beat! Plus, she supplied us with her personal recommendations which were excellent! Though we came in the day, the nightlife area looked like it was calling our names for our next visit--which will be very soon!"

  • "We went there to celebrate Mother's Day. Was not real crowded but it seemed cramped. We were seated facing a window looking right out at the sidewalk and everyone walking past were looking in at you eating which I do not find enjoyable. The heating elements at our table was to us a little out of reach, we were constantly stretching my wife almost had to lift up out of her chair each time. The group at the table behind us was very loud, to the point others we looking at them and we could barely hear ourselves. The food and sauces were ok but nothing to rave about. We had the zen for 4 with the White Merlot & Vegetable broth but we really did not notice any flavor. Will stick to making our own fondue at home."

  • "My son graduated from UNCW and we went to the Little Dipper for dinner to celebrate. The staff was wonderful and gave us advise on the cooking methods, sauces, etc. A wonderful place to celebrate."

  • "Dining here is as much an event as it is a meal. The service is consistently exceptional. The servers are engaging. The food is always cooked fresh (because the guest is the chef). Most guest dress above beach wear but below formal. Be sure to go with friends as you will be cooking your food in a community pot. This restaurant is located in what appears to be an old store in historic downtown Wilmington. If you like history plan to take a walk around town before or after your meal. Be warned, Thursday night is ladies night and it can be rather noisy. Parking can be a problem. We can usually find a spot in a "pay to park" lot across the street for $7.00. All in all a great spot for the occasional "treat" meal. "

  • "Our first visit to The Little Dipper was to take mom for Mother's Day. We were all extremely happy with the delicious food and prompt service. We had the Tuscan cheese fondue and I do recommend it. The choice of salad that comes with the meal is great (around 5-6 i believe). I chose the chef salad with a house made basil vingerette (yum)! The others had a house salad. My husband had a meal for two with filet minion, shrimp and chicken. It was just enough for two and comes with veggies. Mom had the chicken trio and enjoyed every bite. We also chose the chicken broth to cook our food in which I feel was a healthy choice over oil. A great little place to celebrate any special occasion or just to enjoy a night out with your love/friends. "

  • "What a wonderful dining experience. You're allowed to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace while having fun with the fondue! A real gem of a restaurant."

  • "The Little Dipper is by far the best Fondue restaurant we have enjoyed. The selections were varied and different providing many new and interesting courses to try. The meats, vegetables, fruits, and cheeses were all high quality and flavorful. The cheeses and chocolates were mixed perfectly, never too thick, or burned, or separated. The "date night" menu with wine pairing is fantastic in amount and value. A great place for a date for two or to enjoy with a group."

  • "Took my lady to the Little Dipper and was very happy with the experience. Service was good and the food was excellent. I thought the menu had enough options to choose from for all courses. The ambience for an evening was too lit up for my tastes of romantic but it hardly ruined the mood. The cheese and chocolate fondues were the highlights of the evening for my date and I. "

  • "My wife and I have dined at numerous other fondue restaurants; this was our first time in Wilmington, so we decided to give The Little Dipper a try. We were not the least bit disappointed- we came away very pleased and very satisfied. Food, service and ambiance were all very good, the wine list was very reasonably priced, and we would gladly return on our next visit to the city."

  • "Been in Wilmington since 1989 and have heard rumblings about The Little Dipper. Went for Ladies Night for first time 4/2/14 and had my husband take be back 4/22 for dinner and went again 4/30! Each time was excellent!"

  • "Went for a quiet romantic birthday for my wife -on ladies' night. Whoops. But they put us the most secluded booth, with the most personable waiter, and really catered to us. Top shelf service and food. Will definitely go again - even on ladies night. "
