Diner Reviews
  • "This was our second time visiting Library in the last 5 months. We started with two G&T's and wine. They make homemade tonic and it was WAY to sweet for the drinks. To eat, we had 3 orders of escargot and two orders of soup (she crab and split pea). The split pea is great. The escargot and she-crab was par. For dinner we had 2 specials-14oz. steak w/blue cheese and reduction sauce. For $40, it was not of the quality you can get elsewhere. The third dish was veal and shrimp. This was bland and we were saddened by the lack of taste and perpetration of this piece. In the end, we felt we spent way too much for the quality of what we received. For a dinner that cost the same as a car payment, you would expect something more."

  • "Always a great meal. Chad the owner and Danny our waiter are outstanding. The Old Fashions are the best at the beach and the She - Crab soup is the best we've ever had."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at the Library, celebrating my wife's birthday. So glad we selected the Library from a list of recommended restaurants! Attentive, knowledgeable, professional service with great food! Great wine selection, and owner helped us narrow down our choice."

  • "The library was definitely one of the best restaraunts ive ever been to. The wait staff was exceptional, all of the food came out in a timely manner and was cooked to perfection. And the serving sizes werent small at all, I got the Duck L'orange and I got two decent sized leg quarters served with 3 veggies and a salad, and the steak tips appetizer was outstanding as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone."

  • "Smart people eat at the Library. The food was delicious and prepared to perfection. We both chose one of the chef's specials, grouper stuffed with lump crab and a blood orange hollandaise sauce. Our waiter, Chris, was right on time from start to finish. This is our new favorite restaurant and we'll be back. This was a great experience from beginning to end. cocktails drinks, appetizers, wine, dinner, dessert, after dinner drinks............just perfect. The best in Myrtle Beach without a doubt."

  • "We went during our vacation to Myrtle Beach and, second to jet skiing, dinner at The Library was our best memory. The very intimate setting, extreme care by the owner and waiter, and the excellent food made us wish we lived in Myrtle Beach so we could go more often. If you want a wonderful meal and an exquisite dining experience, this is the place to go."

  • "What an incredible dining experience. The food was 5 star, service was excellent. Quaint, quiet, and romantic. We wanted for nothing. If you want extraordinary food and have your every need catered to then is the place to dine at. We gave it 5 stars. Chuck our Server was attentive and funny."

  • "I chose the Library for my girl's special birthday dinner. Although we surprised the staff with an infant in a car seat, they did a great job making us feel welcome. Our waiter, Chuck even offered to hold and rock the baby while we enjoyed the food. We had a memorable dinner out."

  • "I have been going to The Library for the past 5 years, once a year. It doesn't get better each year it just does this amazing thing called consistency. The food is always as anticipated; delicious, the service is always impeccable & Shad always has time to say hello no matter how busy. I look forward to dining here every year."

  • "French onion soup very good, salmon cooked to perfection, bananas foster delicious, wait staff very attentive. However overall we were very disappointed. Veal dish the waiter said was 'his personal favorite' was very heavily breaded, a FULL description would be better than the waiter's preference. At $36 for a small portion of salmon vegetables should be included. Not told veg a la carte until the waiter arrived with a plate of a few green beans, 2 small potatoes and some carrots. 4 green beans each for additional $8 -really! The salad was included, but was lettuce and croutons only, although the dressing was excellent. Very disappointed overall, and felt as if the restaurant was only interested in my money and not my dining satisfaction."

  • "This experience was everything that we could have hoped for in a restaurant offering the highest quality perfectly prepared foods and service rarely experienced outside of a private club or "country club" setting. I would definitely recommend The Library for special occasions as well as for "foodies" looking for a new experience. We had one entrée as well as one dessert prepared tableside and the presentation as well as the expertise exhibited were phenomenal. The wine list was extensive with several offerings in all price ranges and a wonderful choice of ports to finish the meal."

  • "A top, top restaurant not cheap by any means but you get what you pay for, food of the very highest quality, impeccable service, great location. I would say its one of the best dining experience you can have in the u.s. let alone south carolina. Be warned you will have to book way ahead its full every night for a reason, you have been warned....."

  • "My wife and I travel extensively and once a year treat ourselves with a visit to The Library in Myrtle Beach, SC. We have never been disappointed and consider this restaurant the best we have eaten at anywhere."

  • "Between New York and Miami there cannot be many restaurants this good along the Atlantic coast. Try the tableside Caesar salad and Steak Diane for fine, but friendly, dining. You'll go back. Best to dine on a friend's bill. The value is there, even out of your own pocket."

  • "The staff was really wonderful. However, the food was just so-so. She-crab soup was awesome. Salad... really??? just lettuce but had a wonderful balsamic dressing -- thank god! Wine just so-so and extremely over priced for the quality offered. Every item was an add-on. This is not a restaurant that we would put on a "must go back there" list."

  • "Everything was excellent! Even better than that, everything was outstanding! The hardest decisions were: what to order! We could have ordered 1 of everything. The Library should be the 1st restaurant you need to go to in Myrtle Beach and you will see what excellent service, excellent food, and excellent atmosphere, everyone else should aspire to, in a very intimate and quiet setting. This was our 1st time at the Library and definitely won't be the last."

  • "The Library is my favorite restaurant anywhere! I'm so glad we were able to be here to start the new year with you. Keep up the good work. Your food is always delicious and unique, and we love the table side items the best."

  • "My first time to The Library was a very pleasant experience. My friend & I were placed next to the fireplace, which made for nice ambience. Since our plans for the evening, included going dancing after dinner, we only wanted a light meal. We shared 2 appetizers and each had a dinner salad. The mushroom caps were to die for. Extremely tasty. We also enjoyed the beef tips and shrimp appetizer. Our dinner salads were included with our appetizers, which was a nice surprise. Our waiter, Chris, was very attentive. All of the staff was friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely go back again to try some of their entrees and recommend it highly."

  • "The restaurant was great - service, food, wine, drinks - however - being Thanksgiving Day - was disappointed that a traditional dessert (pumpkin pie, pecan pie) was not offered and the only desserts were extremely expensive. Kind of made the wonderful meal end on a bit of a down side......"

  • "My wife and I recently celebrated our 2nd anniversary at The Library. It was wonderful. More wonderful for us (maybe not for them) was the fact that we had the restaurant practically to ourselves which allowed our server to cater to and pamper us above and beyond. The service is above and unlike any other you will find in area restaurants. Makes you feel special. And I could tell this would be the case whether we were the only couple or the dining room was filled. The servers are well versed in serving etiquette. The food was very good with preparation not the ordinary found elsewhere. And it was a very pleasant touch to have the general manager engage us in conversation and make us feel so at home. Truly a delightful and unique experience."

  • "We ate at the Library about 18 years ago;it was excellent then and has not changed (now different owner). We had the same Caesar salad made from scratch at our table. The steak Diane was lovely, as was the grouper. It was and still is expensive, some would say overpriced."

  • "I do not think that the food was good value for the price. I eat in some very nice restaurants and this food was average, not outstanding by any means. I would not recommend."

  • "This was our first time at The Library. Our waiter Chris did an awesome job to make us feel welcome. The service was top notch and the food was some of the best that I have ever tasted in Myrtle Beach. The She-crab soup was the very best and I still crave a bowl. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We'll be sure to come back."
