Diner Reviews
  • "While initially seen as a slightly upscale tavern/bar this place is actually quite awesome. Front space brighter for lunch, but either way food was excellent. As was service."

  • "Atmosphere was ok . Food was small portions. Service extremely slow"

  • "The restaurant was very hot and dark for a sunday lunch and we didn't stayed there."

  • "I came here for the dollar oysters and they were worth the trip. The drinks were great as well"

  • "I enjoyed the food - fried macaroni and cheese was very good. The crab cake sandwich was good but the crab cake was small and got lost in the roll. The server tended to hover over us and we wanted to chat and eat at a liesurely pace. The restaurant was empty and they didn't need our table."

  • "Atmosphere was lively and had cool old school decor. Food was good but nothing to rave about. I was with a group. Everyone got their food but me. When it finally arrived, the fries were cold told the server and she took my whole plate back so I was with out food again. Not sure why she did not just bring me another set of fries. It was so loud - it was hard to hear each other talk and my ear were ringing when we left. I will not go back - mostly due to the noise level. "

  • "Went there for dinner with kid and it was loud and dark. The service started out well and went downhill from there."

  • "That Week in New York City was awesome, and playing Cards while eating and drinking in the Liberty was the best what could ever happen, and thanks to Open Table who made it possible that we could reserve a table at the Liberty! The Liberty gave it all, and made the holidays perfect!"

  • "Who knew there was good food in the wasteland that is Herald Square? Great drinks, $1 oysters from 4-6, and happy hour specials until 8 p.m."

  • "We for brunch and found the service a bit weird. Very inflexible with requests and not knowledgable about the menu"
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "The services was very good - but the food wasn't. It was ordinary-nothing special or unique about it. We picked it because it was close to an appointment we had afterwards."

  • "Great menu. We shared sliders and duck fat fries which were very tasty! Will definitely go there again."

  • "Went on a Tuesday night Crowd who was there was LOUD Lighting at tables was DARK Overall NOT a good place to have dinner with 2 friends and try to catch up -- IF you are trying to speak to one another Food was ok - nothing to talk about My bourbon sour was boring and again nothing to write home about"

  • "I was used to stop by every know and then, I decided to throw there a work party. The waitresses were pushy, even though I sent emails and called mentioning that I could be able to give our party's number of people, they kept stopping by the table asking when the others were supposed to arrive. Then when we where all set, they kept stopped by asking us if we needed something else, and acted very unprofessionally when the answer was negative. I was thinking that I could find a convenient place to gather several coworkers, I felt more ashamed most of the time. Anyway it was a going away party, since I left the city, I won't probably come back as well as my 10 coworkers who stopped by and who work a few blocks away."

  • "Lots of places say they have great burgers, but this is really a great one! and they have $1 blue point oysters every day from 4-6p & 10p-12a. beware it gets pretty noisy in there after 7p most nights- lots of loud music and 3 nights a week a DJ (if you're into that sorta thing)."

  • "GREAT spot in the neighborhood. (traditionally lacking interesting options) I have recommended to any friends who will be in the area or are attending concerts at MSG etc. I like the nod to locally sourced ingredients--a very nice touch!"

  • "Slow nights and unattentive service can drive you bonkers. Duck fat fries sounded great but weren't. Salads over-dressed and wimpy."

  • "This place was perfect for girls night. I had been there before on dates. I had the chicken pizza and it was delicious and we also shared a cheese platter which had a great selection of cheeses. It was a little loud, but still a lot of fun. I definitely recommend it to other people. It's a great place for young professionals after work as well."

  • "We came in and tried two appetizers, an entrée, two desserts, and several of their signature cocktails. All of it was absolutely fantastic. I live a few blocks away from this place and it's my new favorite by far"

  • "The shared appetizers of calamari, tempura green beans and margarita pizza were all quite good. The burgers are fine. The specialty drinks are fun and the scene is very lively and noisy."

  • "I made a reservation for 22 and was shown to 2 high tops that had 12 stools I quess we were suppose to hold our plates! When I questioned the staff they pointed to stools along the wall! We had to grab another table as there was no way to fit everyone at 2 tables for six. will never go there again,"

  • "Had a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday night. I was late but they had already seated my friends who were there. They gave us 2 tables which was good for us since we had so many people. There was an NFL playoff game so the place was busy and loud. The staff was great and accommodating to our group. Food was great (except the fries were cold), drinks were great and everyone had a great time. They let us order at the bar so we could do separate checks (didn't want to deal with splitting the bill with that many people!) & brought our food out to our table which makes this place great for groups. Side Note: This is a Patriots bar, so if you are not a fan don't go there when they are playing :)"

  • "Liberty was the perfect place to grab a drink and unwind on a Friday afternoon. The food and music were outstanding, I would highly recommend the duck fat fries. Will definitely visit this place again."

  • "I made a reservation for 20 people. Had the reservation for a week and I received a phone call stating that there would be a football party upstairs and with such a big group for dinner would I like to be put downstairs and have the area to ourselves. I, of course said yes. So my family and I get there and we are brought downstairs to a lounge area. There were no dishes, utensils, tables or waiters. There were some nice couches, coffee tables and ottomans. I thought that since we had the whole downstairs, hey why not eat on coffee tables and have a lounge effect. Then another group of about 8-10 walk downstairs and proceed to sit down on half of the couches. At that point I was like how can you offer 20 people no space! So we left."
    Dined on 11/30/2013
  • "We had to request the staff to turn down the music since we couldn't hear each other at all! Another peeve: they have only a couple of vegetarian offerings so why fry the fries and the donuts in duck fat to reduce the samplings available for vegetarians? Other than that service was courteous and food was decent."

  • "Very tasty and surprisingly creative food. Bacon mayonnaise ?! Awesome!"

  • "My boyfriend and I had a great time at this establishment. We made the reservation for 6 p.m. but we got there early and the servers already let us inside the restaurant, which is great for us. The service was fast, except when we asked for the check. Overall, the food was excellent, prices were affordable, and the servers were very friendly."

  • "Equal parts bar and restaurant, this place had a great vibe as soon as you walk in on a Friday night for dinner with good music, a busy center bar, and tables surrounding the perimeter. Nothing was wrong with the food, everyone's dish was good but nothing too special. Great selection of cocktails, and a happy hour before 8 which we just missed."

  • "GREAT spot to watch the Clemson Tigers, except when they're getting embarassed at home by Florida State. Felt like I had 400 friends in the bar!"

  • "We went to watch the Clemson FSU game on a Saturday night and were very impressed with the food and service. The atmosphere was loud and fun."

  • "A fun old building, good food, the music in incredibly loud which didn't bother us but if you're looking for deep conversation, I'd go elsewhere."

  • "Good for group lunch with coworkers, there is always tables available. decent food at decent prices."
    Dined on 8/23/2013
  • "Nice place but omg, the noise levels and terrible acoustics at night. we were four people sitting at a bar table and having to shout at each other to be heard and even then it was challenging. May be great if you are in your 20s but not for others. Place itself is nice with good food and nice service but forget about having a conversation. Left to go to a nearby bar to recollect our senses and have a few drinks over conversation versus screaming at one another."

  • "great place to go after work if you're looking for a fun atmosphere with good happy hour specials until 8pm. the area doesn't have much by way of cool not gross places with good drinks and food. this is a place you should try! came here on a friend's recommendation - Moscow Mules, wines and beers on the HH menu. the sliders, tempura string beans, pizzas and mac n cheese bites to share! try this place out."
