A word from The Lazy Goat
The Lazy Goat is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East and a relaxed atmosphere where taking the time to "linger and share" is encouraged.

The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes.

Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of that and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like".

The appetizers were inventive, our favorite being the brussel sprouts. Dinner favorites at out table were the salmon over couscous, and the Even Lazier chicken Paella. The blending of spices and rich texture was truly divine. Wine choices complemented the meal beautifully. Our waiter was excellent. It was a lovely evening!

This is our favorite restaurant. We come here regularly and have yet to be disappointed! The restaurant is beautiful and the outside patio area transports you to a European city. My wife has celiac's disease and the wait staff and chefs are very knowledgable and accommodating. Our favorite appetizers are the spicy calamari and the shrimp. Both dishes are so spicy and flavorful. All of the entrees are great. My wife ways gets the steak and I mix it up. We are begging them not to take the flourless chocolate cake of the menu. It is warm, moist, chocolatey goodness. The restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or family dining experience.

The riverfront parks of Greenville are really beautiful. Several restaurants have opened in the area that take advantage of the wonderful setting. The Lazy Goat is one of them. There is a nice outside deck area where we would have like to sit. In spite of our reservation several days earlier, we were told that those tables were taken. There were, however, always one or two open. Instead we sat inside near a window. The food was good. Unfortunately, nothing had much spark to it except for the broth that the mussels came in. Everything else had a sort of “meh” quality to it—OK to good but should have been better. I would definitely return to the riverfront parks, but I think that I will try somewhere else for dinner.

We have been coming back because the food is excellent, wine and specialty drink offerings are very attractive, and it is a very nice place to done outside or inside in downtown Greenville. This particular visit stood out through service that was not as attentive and not as good as it has been in all prior visits.

We wanted to take advantage of the Restaurant Week/ 3 courses for $30. All the food was very good, but everyone agreed there was an awful lot of pepper in the couscous as well as the risotto. Made my eyes water! It was overpowering. Tres Leches was fabulous and finally got relief from the pepper!

This was my second visit. I fell in love with this restaurant on my first visit. We had outside seating the first trip so I requested that with the hostess on this trip but was disappointed to learn a large party had taken all of the patio seating. I do feel the hostess station could have been better managed. Several parties were arriving and there seemed to be lots of confusion and no one was seated very promptly. Our server was Tory and she did a phenomenal job. Food and wine was great as usual. Would prefer outdoor table...ambience is nicer outside atop the falling waterworks a nice breeze.

The Lazy Goat is one of my wife's and my favorites downtown. Amazing views of the Reedy, outstanding food (you have to try the Paella), and just a wonderful overall atmosphere inside or out. Our service this time was not as good as it has been in the past, but that is only because our waiter had a big group just winding down as we were sitting down. So we had to wait for him to take care of 12 checks between our sitting down and when we finally ordered. Even with that said, I would still recommend giving the Lazy Goat a try if you've never been, or an encouragement to go if you haven't been in awhile. It's always delicious and fun.

My girl friend and I went to the Lazy Goat last Friday night. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, and we arrived about 7:10. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Our server Juan R was excellent and very attentive to serving us. We ordered wine, a baby house salad each, and a flak steak dish to share. The portions were a good size, and the taste of the dishes was outstanding. We had a great time, a super meal, and we will be back. Also, the parking garage at River Place is so convenient.

This was our fourth visit to the Lazy Goat in two years. After finding the food, service and overall experience exceptional the first time it has deteriorated quickly. Firstly, we were greeted by three unenthusiastic young women who were all busy texting when we entered. After they were through one of them showed us to our table. Our server, Katelyn, couldn't have been less enthusiastic. She was hard to hear and didn't know the menu. One of our guests, a pescetarian, requested a shrimp dish be prepared without chorizo and Katelyn promised it would be. Upon it's arrival, it was loaded with sausage. My pasta dish had a large piece of melted plastic in it, and our other guests couldn't bite through their bread. An overall unpleasant experience

Our group of 3 was the smallest group we've ever done at Lazy Goat, as this is one of our favorite places for a large group to share many items off the menu over a couple (few!) bottles of wine. Our experience was as wonderful as always. Our server was great, there when we needed him without hovering. Every dish was excellent! Shared a meat and cheese plate with olives and almonds, fried goat cheese (always a favorite!), the roasted mussels & chorizo (super yum!), Moroccan Lamb, grilled calamari (hubby's favorite of the night), crudo of yellowfin tuna (my favorite of the night), and the Kobe flank steak. We finished the night off with a large French press and shared a slice of the lemon goat cheese cheesecake. Awesome!

The Lazy Goat is a nice local restaurant. Unfortunately, they do not keep their menu up to date online - at least on the link provided on the Open Table menu tab. There were several items I wanted to try. When we arrived, were seated and handed our menu, it did not have any of the items I was looking forward to trying. In fact it was quite scaled back to a much smaller dinner menu then what they show on Open Table. I was quite disappointed. It isn't hard to update a menu online.

I am a huge fan of The Lazy Goat and have enjoyed experiencing subtle changes and exciting additions to an amazing menu with the now former Executive Chef, Victoria Moore. With Executive Chef Michael Kramer at the helm, the food is still delicious with complex flavors, but the menu lacks the former variety and refinement that I came to enjoy. The "Share or Not to Share" portions - particularly the Kobe Flank Steak - are a bit larger, making me feel less inclined to be adventurous and order additional nibbles throughout the meal. The toughest part for me - no more Porchetta. I encourage Chef Kramer to stretch his culinary wings, but to be mindful that frequent diners, much like the goat, can be stubborn when it comes to too much change.

How is it possible to have a ordered a medium rare steak but to get it cooked well done except for a very cold, very raw center? After sending it back to the kitchen it was obviously microwaved to "fix" it which then just made it chewy. Terrible in every possible way - this was our second and last time trying this place. It's too bad because it is a very nice space but they just don't deliver.

Belated review of a terrific find in Greenville NC. Nice room, great al fresco patio. Courteous, efficient, knowledgeable server. All-star menu of Beirut comes to South Carolina, marvelous nibbles, apps, entrees, and specials, and a wine list priced to sell rather than to gouge. Our table had the Bronzino, two Lazy Paellas, and the Kobe - all fabulous. Washed down with reasonably priced Albarino and Barbera d'Asti. Wished we had longer stay; would have hit this place 2-3 more times, lunch and dinner. When in Greenville, don't miss. (And make sure you see the County Art Museum and the American Impressionists!)

We ordered a pitcher of Sangria and had noted on the web site and told by our waitress it was a happy hour special. When we received our bill the Sangria was charged at regular price. We questioned our waitress and she graciously went to check with the bartender. The bartender told her that this was changed a couple of weeks ago and no longer was a part of happy hour. I felt as though we were mislead by both the website and staff. Several days later, the web site has still not been updated and states that pitchers of Sangria are $5 off during happy hour.

Our reservation was honored with only a few minutes wait. There is not a bad table in the dining room, all have a wonderful view of the river and wooded trail. Our waitress greeted us warmly and explained the menu as this was our first visit. She was overly pushy to get us to commit to beverage and meal choices. The timing of each course was perfect. Our server checked with us often during the meal. Our food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The meat/cheese tray took me back to Rome and the Very Lazy Paella was the best. Toward the end of our meal our server kept refilling my wine glass, giving me the impression that I needed to hurry up. I noticed that most tables lingered over their meal which created a dining experience

We had lunch outside on a Saturday. The atmosphere and view are outstanding. My wife ordered the steak and I ordered the seafood special of the day. Both dishes were good, but not outstanding. For the price we expected larger portions. We were both actually still hungry when we left. The service was great, we just wish the serving portions would have been a little larger.
