A word from The Lazy Goat
The Lazy Goat is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East and a relaxed atmosphere where taking the time to "linger and share" is encouraged.

The diverse menu was created to accommodate a variety of diner preferences with meat & cheese plates, small plates to “graze and nibble,” and main dishes.

Guests are invited to take their time while "trying a little bit of that and a little bit of that" or a "whole lot of whatever they like".

Always super appreciative of a resturant that is accommodating to food sensitivity and has more than just a few boring options. The food was great and full of flavor. I was sooo impressed and being that i am gluten, dairy and soy sensitive eating out isnt usually a fun occasion but i left the goat so pleased. I had a great experience with no anxiety about getting the wrong food or not being able to get anything good to eat on our night out. Thanks So much for being so accomidating.

We love the Lazy Goat, because we can order several different menu items and enjoy more than one dish. Several Tapas are enough for the two of us, and when we added in some wine, it was magic.

I like this place. For me, it is a limited menu. The portions are not huge, even on main courses, so I feel it is a bit overpriced for what one gets. The setting/ambiance is wonderful. Definitely NOT a place for kids, and I base this having to sit next to a 12 person party with 4 very loud kids who ran around the place, uncontrolled by parents (their fault, not the restaurants).

Our evening at the Lazy Goat could not have been better. We arrived a little early and were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. The food we ordered was yummy. We tried the fried goat cheese and Mediterranean pimento cheese for a starter. We added a little red onion chutney to the side and it was to die for! I had the mushroom risotto for an entrée and it was simply delicious. My friend ordered the salad with pistachios and goat cheese and it was huge for a tapas restaurant! We loved the atmosphere and beautiful view of the river at night. We'll visit again in the summer when we can try the outdoor patio. What a great experience!

The food and service were excellent. My only complaint is the lack of ambiance when eating in the upstairs dining area. The main dining room is wonderful, but the upstairs looks like a hotel meeting room. I highly recommend asking for seating in the main dining area.

Overall a good experience with my 12 yr old. I ordered some things I had before and while presentation or style was a bit different, essentially it was still the same: meat, cheese, hummus, frites, almonds. What wasn't the same but sounded the same? The 'even lazier goat'. I had originally ordered this dish several months back. The dish I got the second time (with the menu description sounding like I recalled) the item that came out was NOT as expected. Totally different. Boxed it and took it home. It was equally unappealing then also. Lesson learned - you can not go back and expect the same dish. Make sure to discuss with the server to verify.

Started with the soup of the day on a cold day. The soup of the day was a tasty chicken soup. Then I had a cuban and it was delicious. Portions were perfect for a lunch. Scenic view of the river. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a relaxed lunch. The outdoor seating area is lovely but more suited for warmer weather. Priced perfectly and very delicious food.

The Lazy Goat offers a great selection of foods -- something for everyone but with a wonderful European flair. The fried goat cheese is a must for sharing, the salmon is to die for and the rack of lamb is a must for those who like lamb. In our party of six, we all got something different for entree -- not one of us was disappointed and there was a lot of "you gotta try this" going on! I have an allergy to MSG and emailed the chefs before going to see if there are any dishes I need to avoid -- got an immediate response, and I mean immediate -- all safe! Highly recommend The Lazy Goat! Oh and valet parking is offered at the Hampton Inn right there....take them up on it unless you want to walk (and enjoy the Greenville scenery).

We were sorry to learn that Saturday Brunch is no longer at The Lazy Goat, as our server handed us regular lunch menus! However, the Chef's Specials of the Day were so very delicious that the loss of a Brunch Menu was quickly forgotten. The swordfish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fish plated well with the pasta of the day; the red pasta sauce had just enough warmth to offset the cool of the fall morning. Thanks for a lovely lunch on the banks of the Reedy River!

Our server was very informed and gave us some spot-on suggestions. Decor here is still a little rough. Feels like a hotel lobby at times. Also, the reception from the host stand wasn't the warmest. But the food here is really solid. I go to Greenville at least once a year and always go to Lazy Goat.

My friend and I ate here and the food was spectacular, we just did a bunch of apps like the crispy Brussels sprouts with Serrano ham and manchego cheese, fried goat cheese in this great honey vanilla sesame sauce and a braised lamb that was fragrant and Tagine like! Delicious! Our server, Chelsea(?), was fantastic she was personable, knowledgable, and attentive . We enjoyed chatting with her about Greenville. My only criticism and it's small, we were the last of 2 tables, and all the servers were sweeping around us. It was noisy and that tends to make guests feel uncomfortable. I'm a server in Charleston, SC. And that's a BIG no no. That being said I'd recommend the lazy goat to anyone, it's a great place all around!

You know you are probably in the right restaurant when: the crowd is happy and young, the room is bright, the staff is smiling and buzzing throughout the space, even when it is raining outside. The tapas are fantastic. A highlight for me was yellowtail tuna carpaccio beautifully presented. This is one of the places which is making Greenville, SC a destination city.

the food was good, the service was okay (i'm being generous here), the ambience was meh... i wouldn't discourage anyone against going, but then again i wouldn't really recommend it, either. i would probably caution them and set some reaonsable expectations for them. the best part of the evening was the appetizer (sorry, forgot what was ordered). the worst part was the service. i doubt i'll go back unless it is for a work dinner (aka, free). i will share that i was pretty excited about dining there for the first time, so perhaps i'd over-hyped it in my head and built unrealistic expectaions. for the price, though, i think there are just too many other great restaurants in downtown Greenville where you'll have a noticeably better experience.

Our first visit to The Lazy Goat will not be our last. We requested a window table and enjoyed the view of the river walk area as we dined. Since my two favorite courses are appetizers and desserts, the menu was right up my alley. The tapas style, sharable plates, were just what we were looking for. The crudo of yellow fin tuna was so fresh, and was perfectly accompanied by the incredible truffle vinaigrette. The house made burrata cheese with arugala and cherry conserve was delicious, as were the fried goat cheese balls, but we would have enjoyed them even more if they were served with the arugala salad as well. The Kobe flank steak and crispy branzino were wonderful, but I cannot stop thinking about the salted caramel panna cotta!
