The Lambs ClubAn excellent place for breakfast. An excellent place for breakfast. Best cappuchino around. Also enjoy the pastries and the smoked arctic char.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMfirst visit for Mother's DayProfessional service, excellent menu selection. The Jazz added to the ambiance. There are several areas that could be improved however. For one thing, a6 dollar cup of coffee with taste better if they clean the pot once in awhile.also, was overcharged from the menu price on dessert. Unfortunately did not discover the overcharge until after we left. Shame on us.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchI had an amazing Mother's Day Brunch with my cousin who visited from Philadelphia. There was a live jazz band called Avalon that was amazing!!! The music was awesome without being intrusive.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMToo noisy for me. Food wasToo noisy for me. Food was great, but very pricey. The restaurant is convenient to theater.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat per theaterThough we had to wait for out table the food, staff and atmosphere made up for it. It was nice to find a sophisticated menu in the heart of times square.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic food, very noisyAs we approached, I realised we were entering theatre and tourist trap territory and feared the worst. However all my fears disappeared upon entering. Great ambience. Tons of atmosphere. Very noisy though, Americans seem to like that for some reason. Service was five star. The type of service where when you leave the table for a moment, they will fold your napkin so you may find it neatly folded upon return.
The food was outstanding, just great.
Recommended.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of this World! One of the best dining experiences - three for lunch. The setting is beautiful -- elegant, spacious & inviting. I knew it would be wonderful from the feel of the leather on the chairs :) Our waiter was knowledgeable and explained the dishes in delectable detail. Two of us shared octopus salad, which was charred to perfection and was so tasty with a slightly hot sauce! Not chewy at all. One of us had Richard's soup, served at at the table in a wonderful presentation. He RAVED about it with every spoonful. I had the tuna burger special. Wow... like nothing I've ever had. It was perfectly garnished & had a lovely delicate sauce. One other person had the hangar steak also excellent, but the best was lobster salad. Delicious!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery romanticGreat staff, good food and interesting decor. Great for special occasions.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday brunch prices wereSunday brunch prices were quite reasonable. Forget the negative reviews. Our experience was wonderful and it's proximity to theatre can't be beat. The bread was so good we could have made a meal of that alone but everything that followed was good as well. I had the french toast stuffed with rhubarb and strawberries. A bit slim on the stuffing but a very good dish. Service was exemplary. Our waiter was quiet, as were the bus boys, but they were there at all the right times, with orders, with water, with clearing the table and getting us the check on time. And an unexpected plus was a music trio and a singer, Initially we worried about the noise level but we were able to converse comfortably.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Lambs Club does not disappointOur third time at this wonderful restaurant and every aspect was lovely again. We were seated at a romantic table, side by side, which made the experience even more special. The food, service, and ambience are consistently top notch at The Lambs Club and the music (30s, 40s soulful jazz/blues)... divine. The somelier was very pleasant and helpful to us in selecting wines by the glass. The only drawback for me is the location, so close to Times Square, but once you're inside, it makes no difference at all.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat pre-theatre prix fixei highly recommend the Lambs Club for a pre-theatre choice--great prixe fixe5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food ....bar very expensive .We had a very good experience except for the bar and bar expense. Food ,atmosphere, and service was very good. My martini was served in a small champagne style glass and cost $20.00 . My wife had a double gin with tonic at a charge of $ 32.00 . We both had two cocktails with dinner and the tab from the bar came as a shock.. I would recommend the very good food and service but would recommend a before dinner cocktail at a close by alternative bar.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a delightful experience. It was a delightful experience. My guests and I were very pleased.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday CelebrationA very convenient spot for a special occasion that was after theatre.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice eveningFirst time. Business dinner for 4. We enjoyed each other's company, the food and wine, and attentive service. It was easy to talk and hear!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful, elegant spot inBeautiful, elegant spot in the Times Square area. Terrific dining room and bar upstairs make for a peaceful and delicious destination. Highly recommended for both business and special occasions.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food...the lamb andGreat food...the lamb and Cod on the menu were terrific! While they advertise Iron Chef Zakarian...I am not sure he is ever there personally!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOf all the restaurants ownedOf all the restaurants owned and operated by Celebrity Chefs ... this was by far the most excellent food ... perfect , tasty and beefy burger ... excellent poached eggs and creamed spinach ... and a perfect bloody mary.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Hidden Gem!Great pre- theatre price fixed menu! Delicious food, terrific presentation, and terrific value. My new favorite restaurant in the theatre district!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner was just okay. Our dinner was just okay. We were disappointed because our lunch at the Lamb's Club a few months agao was excellent.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI usually find Iron Chef andI usually find Iron Chef and food reality show judges restaurants overrated ... well this was a very pleasant and welcome surprise! I will be making The Lamb's Club a regular go to spot every time I'm in NYC! The Sunday brunch and jazz was superb.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful art deco environmentBeautiful art deco environment with delicious food. The jazz was easy listening and wonderful.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been here four timesI've been here four times now, overall excellent , probably in the top five in NYC4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat restaurant. My daughtergreat restaurant. My daughter and I have eaten here several times since it opened, and I really like the pre theatre menu. It is reasonably priced. The food and service were excellent. Drinks are some of the best in the area.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was excellent,Food and service was excellent, everyone left happy. It was a little loud but nothing that made us raise our voices to hear conversation. We would go back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experience.Wonderful dining experience. My friends Lamb was delicious. I had monkfish n bacon, also delicious! Noise level was better after theater crowd left. A delightful night!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch on a Spring Monday.Lunch on a Spring Monday. Great decor and very professional service and ambiance but not as staid as some other establishments catering for a lunchtime business crowd in the area. Weekdays veritable who's who of media, banking and publishing. I heard the bar upstairs is de rigor for swank cocktails too.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food /music for brunchWe visited Sunday brunch at The Lambs Club to celebrate some birthdays. The group, Avalon, was upbeat and great to listen to -- standards, jazz -- with a great female vocalist and wonderful accompaniment. The ambiance at The Lambs Club is outstanding. Recast from a private club built in 1904, it's been decorated in Art Deco and traditional elements in a very tasteful way. We had some breakfast fare - fritatta, ahi nicoise salad, eggs benedict, etc. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We're looking forward to a return visit.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile my omelet was delicious,While my omelet was delicious, everything was overpriced. $6.00 for coffee is too much. Some how, one drink, omelet and coffee was $73.00. Lovely atmosphere and the jazz band made brunch feel special, it was hard to visit. So, it feels like a special occasion venue but there were impediments to really enjoying ourselves: noise and sticker shock.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service, decor and foodThe service, decor and food are wonderful. It's a great place for a romantic dinner, a business group or drinks at one of their bars.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Theatre District SpotWonderful place for either a clent dinner or Date Night. Comfy atmospher for havng serious discussions as well as beautiful to look at. Prix Fixe menu reasonable in NY terms, with portion size commensurate with a fine dining experience (tiny).4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for a business dinner.Went for a business dinner. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I had duck as a main course and thought it was very well done. I ordered a coffee cake for dessert and thought it was good, but not great.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went pre theatre and theWe went pre theatre and the service was superb. They asked us expressly if we had a show and did everything they could to give us a memorable evening and get us out in time for our 8pm curtain.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night turned amazing!Fantastic food, great service. The night I went, Chef Zakarian was in the dining room entertaining a few other well known chefs. I was kind of gawking and my server noticed and arranged a brief meeting with the chef! He also provided a signed menu of my order of the evening and my dessert was on him! Fantastic evening at a fantastic place. Also, the jazz nights are quite a nice experience.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & atmosphere to matchCame to The Lamb's Club for the first time on Easter and was very pleased. The atmosphere feels a little bit like a Mad Men throwback in a really good way. The walls are adorned with neatly placed pictures of celebs - we were sitting opposite the picture of Woody Allen - and indeed I felt like I could be in one of his movies as we sat there. Sunday brunch is accompanied by a wonderful jazz group called the Avalon Jazz Band, whose repetoire includes "golden age" (their words) French jazz and swing. Excellent group, and it wasn't too loud so as to make conversation a burden. I actually had a burger, which was excellent, and my husband ordered typical "brunch "food with eggs and sausage. Everything was delicious! We'll definitely come back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe fish selections were wonderful. The fish selections were wonderful. Great wine recommendations! Very enjoyable!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMgorgeous space, good foodAn absolutely gorgeous restaurant. It's perfect for pre-Theater dining and the staff was super-attentive to our time frame. Did the food blow us away? No. But still good, and overall a very pleasant experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-theater spot. ServiceGreat pre-theater spot. Service could have been a bit better but we really enjoyed the food and ambience and will definitely go back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA star off Broadway! This is a great find in the theatre district, I should have tried it sooner. I am always asked where to eat before a show or in the area and there are few places as convenient and good as this. Also if you want a place that is on the quieter side where you can have a great conversation this is the place. I don;t want to say great for groups because it is such a nice place for smaller parties.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance and fantastic food.My girlfriend and I are fans of Geoffrey Zakarian and decided a trip to New York to check out his restaurants was in order. This was probably the best meal either of us have ever had. The menu is pricey, and its definitely a special occasion restaurant. The ambiance was perfect, the service was great, and restaurant was buzzing, but not crowded. The duck breast was amazing, the scallops were great, and the chocolate souffle and cheesecake were to die for. We will definitely return.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best steak i have hadThe best steak i have had in NYC for a while. Attentive service. I will be back.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good, sat andFood was very good, sat and waited for 10 minutes before a waiter came to our table and when we asked to see our waiter he showed up ready to take our order and was bothered that I really wanted to ask questions. (I would understand if the restaurant was very busy but we had a 6:00 reservation because of theatre tickets) (somewhere during service another waiter started taking over our table and he had a much nicer demeaner). Again I will say that the food was excellent but the noise was loud - it was difficult to have a conversation with my husband and he was really bothered by the noise combined with the loudness of the music.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group was dining early,Our group was dining early, because of a toddler with us whose bedtime was looming. But we were not in a huge hurry, so some of us chose the prix-fixe main menu and some chose the prix-fixe pre-theatre menu anyway. Everybody was happy with their choices. The steak in particular was super. The wine list had a wide spectrum of prices. We chose a pinot noir from the low end of the list and were very pleased. We intend to return.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFoie gras magnifiqueExcellent service and food. Prix fixe as well as a la carte available. It was a magnificent evening. I lived in France, but I have never had such excellent foie gras! Well done, Iron Chef.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMElegance in Theatre DistrictThe dining room in the Lambs Club will take you back to the days of Prohibition and the Roaring 20's as its elegance and serenity is a stand out anywhere in NY...much less in the theatre district. Ask to be seated neat the fireplace to add tot he ambiance.
The food is equally elegant...We had theatre tickets so opted for the Pre-Theatre PRIX FIX with wine pairings and enjoyed all three courses. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The only minor complaint was the service was a bit lacking as we had to ask for the wine pairings at each course and n one case they had to substitute the recommended wine for another.
I will go back...NOT pre- theatre to languish in a longer evening. NOTE: Upstairs bar is great meet up spot for drin3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBusiness meal with ClientsHonored the reservation time and we were seated immediately. Service was prompt efficient and friendly. Food was excellent and flavors and textures were wonderful. Over all one of the best restaurants I have experienced when traveling to NYC. Business associates were similarly impressed3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGlamorous and ConvenientMy number one favorite in the Theater District for pre and post show drinks and meals. The jazz brunch is also unexpected lovely. I've introduced many supposedly "in-the-know" friends to the Lamb's Club and they've all been thrilled.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AM40's EleganceI enjoyed the Lamb's Club - GREAT menu, good service and very good food! I liked the ambiance and really enjoyed my meal. They accommodated my picky eating!1/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come here because of theWe come here because of the sophisticated atmosphere and good service - a good place for a business dinner or to impress out-of-town friends. Service is generally polished without being stiff. My only quibble is that the food is only ok for the price. The tab mounts very quickly, with drinks seeming particularly overpriced, and nothing we had last night was memorable. For example, the duck breast was perfectly medium rare and the sauce tasty but the pearl onions accompanying it were lukewarm, seemed to have been plated some time before the rest of the dish. Desserts were weak as well. I'll still return because of the atmosphere but maybe just for the post-theater a la carte.12/20/2012 12:00:00 AMElegant, comfortable hotelElegant, comfortable hotel restaurant with red leather banquettes and a fireplace, almost like a private club. Low lighting and celebrity photos add to the ambiance. Food is good, with creative touches - in some cases, perhaps too creative. Flavors can be a bit intense. Expensive, but pre/post theatre menu is a good value.12/19/2012 12:00:00 AM
