At The Lambs Club, Chef Geoffrey Zakarian has created a relaxed and inviting restaurant serving updated bar & grill offerings. The main floor dining room is open breakfast, lunch and dinner whereas the mezzanine lounge comfortably accommodates daytime meetings or refined cocktails in the evening with large round banquettes and floor to ceiling windows looking out onto 44th Street. Located within The Chatwal Hotel, The Lambs Club provides room service for the 76 hotel rooms and oversees private dining in the various event spaces throughout the building. This landmark masterpiece was originally built and designed by Stanford White in 1905 and reopened after a major renovation and restoration with every detail overseen by architect Thierry Despont.Continued

  • "The decor of the restaurant, and probably the whole Chatwal Hotel, is stylish and elegant. The dining room features an enormous fireplace and the tables are well spaced for conversation. We wish the food were as spectacular as the surroundings. Everything was good but not memorable. Service was also good but not special. We're glad to have tried it, especially to see the hotel lobby and dining room, but we have no desire to return."

  • "The food and service were very good. We took advantage of the $49 pre-theater menu and the choices were all good. The one thing that surprised us a bit was the high price of drinks. My husband's martini was $22, and my one glass of sauvignon blanc was $25. That seemed a bit high as one can buy many bottles of sauvignon blanc for that price. Overall, it was a very nice experience."

  • "My daughter and I take an annual Mother/Daughter trip to New York City for a show and one special restaurant. We chose The Lamb's Club this year and will DEFINITELY choose it again! The service was fantastic, the food...I don't think there are enough words in the English language to describe the food! I have never had such a good-tasting, unique meal and with the regular menu changes, we will definitely not be waiting a year to go back. Comprehensive wine list and excellence from appetizer to dessert."

  • "Going to the Lambs Club was an absolute treat. It is often hit or miss with restaurants run by "celebrity chefs" but Geoffrey Zakarian's menu did not disappoint. Celery soup had wonderful texture and flavor, as did the butter lettuce salad. Pretzel bread was outstanding. The signature lamb was done perfectly as was the salmon. We had to run to the theater, or we would have had dessert! Next time..."

  • "Very disappointed in the service. Despite available tables in other locations for a party of 4, the hostess only offered us a table right in the entryway of the restaurant with the excuse that others had reserved those specific tables. Also, we were going the the theater, and told the server, but there was a very long delay between the appetizer and the main course. While they realized their responsibility by offering complimentary sides and desserts, they still caused us to gobble our food to make our curtain."

  • "Very "meh", as someone who considers myself a foodie i was excited about the intriguing ingredients and pairings and platings. But the dishes we had all were unbalanced - too many competing flavors, slightly odd textures etc. Just not so impressive. Truly annoyed over the grandiose show the waiter made of the fact that we had requested a substitution due to an allergy and the fact that chef "permitted" it. ugh."

  • "My husband had the salmon with pork belly. Loved it. I ordered the amish chicken, it was fantastic with forbidden rice. Wow! We had two similar looking cocktails. I wanted another and the waiter came back with my husbands. He made no apologies and my husband said he would take it. No effort was made to address the mistake. We were charged for both which thought was not right. The chocolate creme brûlée was delicious. It as very expensive but was the best meal i've had in a long time. Service should have been tighter for the price and type of restaurant."

  • "Had reservations for two for 7:15 on Saturday. We were excited to eat in this famous restaurant and were on time for our reservation. Upon arrival we were greeted by the Maitre D', who asked us to seat and wait. After 25 minutes we noticed we were not being seated. When I got up to ask what was going on with our table I noticed that not only there were plenty of tables available, but also that the Maitre and assistant were handing coats and not taking care of us or other people waiting for a table. We sat down 10 minutes later (~35 min after our arrival). I have NEVER experienced this in any other high-end restaurant in NYC. The food was good and the wine excellent; however, I doubt I'll go back because of the lack of good service"

  • "The restaurant is in the middle of the theater district and supposedly offers a pre-theater menu. Our reservation was for 6pm, we arrived at 6:05pm, and were told we couldn't order off of the pre-theater menu because it ends at 6pm. We let the waiter know we needed to leave at 7:30 to make our show, yet our entrees weren't served until 7:25pm. The service was incredibly slow and everyone seemed confused. They were not equipped to handle the busy pre-theater crowd on a Saturday night."

  • "My friend and I were seeing a show at 7pm so we didn't have a lot of time as we got there at 530. The wines by the glass are very high prices. Steak tar tar was really well done. Burrata we did not like at. We split the Dover sole but for $70 is was also very high priced for what you get. It was delicious. Waiter came over to take our orde but then was distracted the rest of the time. We finished our meal at 620 and we could hacs has coffee or share a dessert but he didn't come back till 640 so we had to leave. I think for the price it was not worth it. I am a huge fan of GZ so I'm sad that I am writing a less than stellar review."

The tuna tartare looked enticing but had no taste. Chicken mediocre Bread was good Dessert fair Annoying wait staff, but he was able to to get us in and out in one hour. His suggestions for a quick meal were not accurate."

And it is different (for the better) than your typical pre-theatre dinner. Service was great.. maybe a little over the top.. but still very good Our food was yummy, although some portions were on the small side (loin of lamb) but others were fine (winter greens salad + swordfish/pork belly."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch. The Bianco Martinis were playing smooth jazz. The copious amounts of red leather and thoughtful lighting give the room a vintage feel. Frank Sinatra could have walked in and felt right at home. The room is comfortable. Tables have a generous amount of room between them. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. Although our table was 8 feet from the band, the noise level was low. The food was prepared well and was imaginative. I had the mushroom, chard, and gruyere omelet - my wife the apple stuffed French toast. They even warmed up the cream for my coffee. This was the best experience we have had in a New York restaurant in a while. We will definitely be regulars."

She was familiar with Chef Zakarian from Chopped and Iron Chef, and we were pleased to find The Lambs Club within blocks of the theater district. Service was outstanding; and the food was spectacular - a brunch menu with many options to please both parents and kids. We have a new favorite in NYC!"

  • "Our brunch was wonderful - I had the Nicoise salad ans it was a bit light but delicious. I am gluten soy and dairy free and they even had bread to accommodate - a very nice touch. There was a fabulous quartet playing jazz - the soprano singer was fabulous. It was the perfect volume - even with the music you could have quiet conversation. It is always a pleasurable pre-theater experience. I highnly recommend it."
