The food was very good, fresh, tasty, well made. Service was not bad until the main course dishes were cleared and then it disappeared, both literally and figuratively. The dessert menus were deposited and then the waiter disappeared. Finally after a very long time, he finally appeared. Someone else brought the dessert and then that was it for service. Never came to ask if we liked the dessert, never cleared the dessert dishes and we had to track down another server to ask for the bill. She said she would tell our server but clearly never did so we finally had to ask the maitre d'/seater for the bill. So, would I go back? Not sure, given how far out of the main part of Burlington it is, that it would be worth the trip.

Second time going to this restaurant, first time we had our rehearsal dinner there before our wedding. The staff at the Lake View House has always been nothing but exceptional. Top notch service from the servers and up to the managers. The food is always unique and flavorful, our compliments to the chef for creativity.

We will likely never return for dinner here. We were a party if 8 in a very small room with 3 other parties of 8. It was incredibly loud, we couldn't even enjoy each others conpany. There was no place to move around either, we were crammed into our tables. The food wasn't that great either. While the menu looked divine, they must've had an "off night." There were two orders of the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and the noodles were undercooked, cold and the cheese hardly melted. The Parmesan chicken was also overcooked. Yuck. Our waitress, Molly, was great, though. She did her best to check on us frequently and was very nice.

The food and prices were that of upscale dining. The ambiance was not. The place was vacant (7pm on a weekday) so the fresh out of high school looking waiter sat us next to the bar instead of in the main restaurant. It felt more like I was having a beer after 18 holes of golf than dining at a place where I was paying $25 a plate. I got the impression that the staff took the restaurant less seriously than whoever made the menu and that led me to feel the same way. I suppose I'd give it another try since at least the selection of food was good and well prepared.

Based on other reviews I read before going, i was disappointed. Food was nothing special...steak tough, adequate but that's all. Service was friendly but awkward. Not terrible, but not worth a repeat.

We went because we received a gift certificate from a friend. We didn't know much about it before going in, but the food was very delicious. I had the Italian cream chicken which was outstanding, my husband had the maple steak tips which he liked. He did comment that it didn't have as much maple flavor as he expected, but we're from Vermont and love maple. It was raining when we went, so we couldn't eat outside, but we saw a nice patio with several tables. We had flourless chocolate cake for dessert - which is a must - but plan to share with someone...delicious, rich, chocolatey. We had great service - the waitress was very friendly and gave some good recommendations. I drink a lot of water, and there was prompt refill service.

Very ordinary food, we will try someplace else the next time we are in Shelburne or South Burlington. The bar looked interesting, maybe a sandwich there instead of dinner would have been a better choice.

The entrance needs an overhaul. It's dark and unattractive and outdated, and you have to go down a hall to find the dining room with no persons visible to greet. Our waiter was quite loud, and not good on the details. Our food was very good.

A great find, just a few steps from our Motel. The atmosphere was great, salads very good and the meals were to die for. My wife had the pork meat loaf, and I had the pork schnitzel, both great choices. We'll be back when in Burlington. Our server Blake helped us with the beer list and did a great job overall.

This is our third time in this restaurant in three weeks, once for lunch, twice for dinner. This was dinner and I must say I was very disappointed this time. Service was decent, we had a nice table, but unlike the first two time we dined here, this time we were disappointed. Unlike the first two times where we were well fed, this time the potions were very small. We spent $140 for dinner for 4 and left hungry. I am hoping that the chef was having an off night because if we experience the same next time, it will be the last time.

The environment was nice and the server was very helpful and friendly, however our pork came out undercooked, the burger was cooked as medium rare when we requested medium so we had to send it back. The whoopie pies and chocolate mint cake were very dry and not enjoyable to eat. The salad and fish and chips were good though. I would not recommend this restaurant but I feel it has great potential.

We almost stepped out- since the restaurant changed its menu. There used to be excellent seafood soup but when we found the prices of the wine and looked at other plates we got tempted.Very good fish, steak, salad! Young staff but very polite and nice! The tables are big and youy have privacy which is quite rare in most restaurants!

A small menu , but diverse enough to meet any needs. The food was good and the portion control was perfect. Well owrth the prices on the menu. I had the beef tips and my wife the chicken, and we both gave it "thumbs up". The chowder was great. Service was good as well. The decor was rustic and the restaurant small. The seat in my booth was comfortable, but ripped. Other than that it was a good experience.
