The KnickCrowded but tolerable....MeliaCrowded but tolerable....Melia was a very capable waitstaff. Food was excellent but a bit expensive. Drinks definitely expensive for what was served.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for breakfast, lunch, dinnerThe Knick has great food for every meal. Try the breakfast pasta or the chicken pita. The sweet potato fries are great too. Make a reservation--this place is busy!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I came hereMy boyfriend and I came here for Downtown Dining over our lunch breaks and were very impressed with the service. We were able to enjoy a three course meal in under an hour without feeling rushed. As always, I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Knick and loved that we were able to get a table outside on a gorgeous day.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Place for LunchGreat salads. Tasty hummus and a well rounded menu.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant! Our family of 6 had a wonderful meal...the menu is diverse and outstanding.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis visit changed my mindI have been unimpressed with The Knick in the past- mediocre food and indifferent service in a great location. But! Downtown Dining week changed that for me. We had a great waitress who served a lovely lunch. I am putting this back on the list of potential dinner places- especially with their $5 happy hour apps specials- ideal for summer patio time.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Knick!!!I love the Knick. It is one of my favorite places. I love the food and the ambiance.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommending this restaurantRecommending this restaurant for lunch and dinner, but not for brunch. Desserts are great.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic BrunchAs a new resident of the Milwaukee area, it is exciting to find great restaurants in the area. My husband and I decided to try The Knick for brunch because we could not make it for the Dining Week specials. Though the restaurant was crowded, we still feel like we received great service, and our meals were out in a timely manner.
The only thing I did not like was how close together the tables are; I didn't like the feeling that I could reach over to the next table and grab their plate.
With that being my only complaint/concern, I would say that I will absolutely be back!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDowntown DiningWe chose to go to The Knick for Milwaukee's Downtown Dining week. We wanted to try someplace we had never been before and their menu sounded appealing. The food was delicious! I had the the mushroom ravioli and my date had the mixed skewers. Both meals were absolutely wonderful. The restaurant was busy, so the food came out a little slower than I bet is usual. The staff was always moving and seemed to have things under control. The restaurant was packed, so it felt like we were sitting very close to our neighbors. But overall, an excellent experience and I look forward to going back to try more.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVisiting MilwaukeeMade a reservation per a recommendation from an acquaintance. Started with an appetizer Calamari that was fresh, lightly breaded and accompanied with a delightful sauce. Followed that with an order of Scallops that were tender, lightly browned and served with thin potatoes. They were large in size and excellent. My associate ordered the New York Strip Steak that was served medium rare and very tender. I might add we started off the evening with a Bombay Sapphire Gin martini and a Bloody Mary. Both were well portioned and great in quality and taste.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistant over many years. When we are in Milwaukee we try to have dinner at the Knick.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite East SideOne of our favorite East Side eateries. Love the hummus appetizer and mushroom barely soup. Also one of the best "house" cabernet's in town.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Knick DinnerWe had dinner on a Monday evening. The pace of dinner was relaxed after we told the to slow down. They were cooperative and pleasant. The food was very good. In fact it is surprisingly good. Anyone going to the Knick will be pleasantly surprised.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Knick is very reliableThe Knick is very reliable for a great tasting meal. My halibut was just perfect and my dining companion was very pleased with the cobb salad. Thursday night is half off wine by the bottle so took advantage of that. Nice touch. Always a good experience at the Knick.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite lunch spot. TheMy favorite lunch spot. You were very busy, but seemed to have a good handle on the business. Being a business owner myself, I have great respect for this.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Knick is a great neighborhoodThe Knick is a great neighborhood restaurant by the Lake. They have valet, but we easily found street parking, and the short walk allowed us to take in the lake. We had a group of four (there were actually a few larger groups there, too) and we were glad we made a reservation b/c it was very busy. The restaurant is really beautiful inside, and the food was excellent --my husband's steak came with white toast, which he didn't quite know what to do with, but the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was attentive, but the pace was a little slow --we were there for 2 hours. If we had somewhere to be, we would've had to skip dessert b/c it took 30 min to come out. Overall, we had a great time at The Knick.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Elegance...New Tatses!Great everything that you covered above.....new menu items added as well as a few new drink items....excellent experience all around. Met some old friends there and introduced a new out of town friend to the experience. We all loved it! Love the new decor with the beautiful artist made glass works of art chandeliers and the excellent choice of colors and textures. Service and Food were excellent!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food & ServiceThe Crab Hash, Smoked Salmon Omelette, and Shrimp Frittata were scrumptious. The service was impecible, we weren't rushed and the coffee pot was brought by very often. We had a wonderful time.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNight at the NickThis visit to the Nick was rather quiet - it was a Thursday evening for dinner.
Service and food were both great.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways, The Knick was a perfectAlways, The Knick was a perfect the perfect spot for this holiday celebration. Jonathan and his team always provide a wonderful meal and relaxing experience. I could not think of a nicer location to enjoy a holiday meal with friends.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchWe were there for Easter brunch. The food was WONDERFUL! Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was ok, but could have been more attentive. We ran out of drinks and had to wave down the waitress after waiting a bit. We had 3 kids with us. For the older 2 it was fine, but not ideal for a 2 year old. Overall a great experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe stopped for a quick dinnerWe stopped for a quick dinner on Easter weekend. We had the ribs and a steak entree. Both were very good. I like to recommend this restaurant to people because the food and service are consistently very good. We also love the decor.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTheir basic house saled wasTheir basic house saled was so tasty and fresh. I'm sorry I didn't order a second one! The cajun tilapia melted in my mouth and the succotash and rice were excellent accompaniments. Excellent food, outstanding service. Can't wait to return! I don't live in this area, but The Knick is my first choice when I return.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI had requested a quite locationI had requested a quite location for a business lunch meeting and I could not be happier with the accommodations made for my guest and me.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful LunchI think the menu has improved since my last visit- which was quite awhile ago. I like to sit outside, weather permitting, but this time was inside- it was winter. Food was very good. They had one of my all time favorites: hopple popple.
Prices seemed very good too.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Knick is a great neighborhoodThe Knick is a great neighborhood restaurant. The food is always very well prepared and quite tasty. We go a couple of times a month and are never dissatisfied. I think the spicy shrimp and sausage penne is one of their best entrees. The Knick is a very attractive place to just relax and have some good food.1/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at the Nick was outstanding.Dinner at the Nick was outstanding. We enjoyed the special curry dusted salmon and steak frites. Desserts were great as well. Next time we are in Milwaukee we will go back to the Nick for sure.12/23/2012 12:00:00 AM
