Diner Reviews
  • "We dined as a group of three. My son had the bolognese and thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed the steak fritte with maitre de beurre, and my husband ordered the papperadelle with hen mushrooms. Both past dishes were done very well. I feel that this would be a restuarant that would not dissapoint anyone's palate."

  • "Went for our anniversary and the food was excellent and imaginative. Ordered a couple things off of their "community" menu - be sure to pay attention though, not all the dishes listed there are at a discount price (in case you are looking for a deal). Overall, the service was pretty good though we had to go inside to ask if we had a server (think she did not know we were out there) - the server I asked though, immediately helped us and then filled in the person who was covering that area. Other than that, all of the staff were very professional, attentive, and courteous."

  • "Now that there are multiple Kitchens on the Front Range - the newness is wearing off and, frankly, I don't think there is anything really special about them - particularly the one in Denver!"

  • "We accidentally went to the Kitchen at Union Station. My lamb chops were good and the oysters were excellent, but the chicken was overlooked and my husband did not tell me until the next day."

  • "Spectacular! Everything was divine! Our servers were great and made us feel special. The food was amazing! I will dream of those lamb chops ;-) Thank you TKD!"

  • "Had a great date night dinner with my wife. Food was wonderful and they had an outstanding wine and beer list!"

  • "Our waiter seemed a bit disoriented and was not very attentive (we were a party of two (2)). This was my first time visiting The Kitchen. I would go back but would ask to be re-seated with a different wait person if I was given the same waiter I had yesterday. I enjoyed everything else about the experience."

  • "We had a great experience at The Kitchen and will go back for sure!"

  • "My 15 year old foodie daughter was impressed I picked such a cool place. We were there at 3PM on a Friday and enjoyed the Community Hour menu. Her hanger steak frites was one of the best bites of red meat I've had in a while. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich there, then later, the second half of the sandwich was even better later and refrigerated. Can't wait to see their full menu. Very cool vibe."

  • "When we give a family member a choice of where to go for their event they always choose the kitchen. The food is unique and great. Service friendly and observant."

  • "Four of us shared a most delightful experience on the patio at The Kitchen. The food was delicious, and the service was great. If you are wondering what to order, the ribeye was especially delicious."

  • "This was the best of a number of the top Denver restaurants we sampled while there for nearly a week for business. Excellent varied menu. The sturgeon was outstanding. Friendly helpful staff; nice wine list."

  • "If you like local food this is the place! Upscale yet relaxed. Local gin and vodka. Awesome drinks. Menu is VERY healthy. Must do if you're into food."

  • "Enjoyed the laid back elegance here and the majority of the food. A few of the flavor combinations were strange to me, but that might just be my palate. Grapefruit sorbet was one of the most delicious things I've eaten in a while!"

  • "As always, The Kitchen Denver was amazing. Great service, wonderful drinks and outstanding food!"

  • "This was our first time at The Kitchen. The decor was very attractive, drinks delicious, mussels appetizer substantial and perfectly flavored. My husband had steak (ribeye?) and I had a curried chicken. We both cleaned our plates. Atypically, we ordered dessert. His salted caramel gelato was the best we've ever had and I had a meringue/berry selection that was incredible. We will DEFINITELY be back - no complaints."

  • "Categorically great experience! Food, service, drinks, ambience- all make this place a "must" for Denver diners."

  • "!Went here for an anniversary dinner, and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived late and have some odd dietary restrictions. The restaurant has a livelier, cafe-type section that is open and lighter, and a more "restaurant-y" section that is dominated by brick walls and ambient lighting. We were initially seated in the cafe area; when we asked to move to the other section (better ambience for an anniv.), we were accommodated right away. I feel like this is usually not the case. The experience just got better from there. Our waiter was knowledgable, personable, and prompt, and the food was excellent - the sturgeon and lamb chops are both highly recommended. Will definitely go back!"

  • "Truly amazing food and staff. The pig ears are great, but then again so was everything else. 5 Stars!"

  • "Had another fantastic experience at The Kitchen on Saturday night. They were busy, every table was full - but the staff didn't miss a beat. The food was brilliant: Perfectly prepared hangar steak and a delicious Halibut special. Looking forward to our next visit!"

  • "My cousin was coming into town from Los Angeles, and I wanted to show her that Denver isn't a food or cultural wasteland. The Kitchen was the obvious choice. They manage to be cool, casual, and still nice enough for a business lunch. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food and drink options (we got a fantastic recommendation on the pea shoot and fava bean bruschetta). The simple, minimalist design makes you forget that you are a few steps away from the chaos and chains on the 16th Street mall. And the menu is varied enough so that there will be something for everyone- entrees, sandwiches, small plates. The food was enjoyed by everyone, and we all left full. The Kitchen never disappoints."

  • "We've been to the Kitchen several times and the food is always stellar. Unfortunately the service does not match up; long wait times, forgotten orders and overall not up to par with the price."

  • "This is a great Colorado restaurant using as much local farm product as possible. Outstanding atmosphere and service - a must eat place in Denver - great location downtown on 16th Street"

  • "Our two top was right next to a wide wall and neither of us could see much out of the windows."

  • "First time to The Kitchen, I would go back The service was great, the food was innovative and delicious. The wine suggested was excellent. I would definitely recommend you give this restaurant a try."

  • "Always a good experience. Fresh, often locally sourced produce and meats and very fresh seafood options as well. Menu selections rotate often and are generally served with great presentation. Definitely like what they do at the Kitchen."

  • "Everything on we ordered off the menu and all the way through, from the cold smoked mussels, piping hot Gouda gougere, spicy baby greens with hazelnuts and goat cheese, grilled sturgeon, lemon tart, and sticky toffee pudding...our dinner was complete perfection, as well as Hope's terrific service."

  • "I was reluctant to go because I feared it would be too "Bouldery." However, the service was excellent and the food and wine were compelling."

  • "It was fun sitting near the kitchen. The people doing the food preparation were impressive. Our service, however, seemed very slow."
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "Once again the Kitchen delivered on the promise of great food, wine and service! So how do you take a great product and make it less than wonderful? Play old 1950's diner music and turn the volume up. Playing music in a restaurant with lyrics is weird but to alienate most of your clientele with your genre selection on Pandora, well that might be the difference between selecting the Kitchen next time and some other place. Denver continues to grow in its culinary choices and ambience should be weighed equally along with food, wine and service. "

  • "My Wife and I finally visited the Kitchen for our 18th Anniversary and our questioning ourselves for not going sooner. Ambience, Food, and service was exactly what we expected. Thanks to Scott and Chef Gabe for an outstanding Experience."

  • "The poor service ruined our experience. We were a party of four. The entrees took forever to be cooked, and when they came out, one of the orders was completely incorrect, which was the fault of a server who had gotten the order confused. I'm willing to overlook errors if people apologize and take responsibility for their mistakes. We received no apologies at all. The three of us who received our correct meals were finished by the time the fourth entree was brought out...still no apologies. There were no regular check-ins by the server, and drinks and water glasses sat unfilled for extended periods of time. The food was not great, but that could have been influenced by the poor service."

  • "This was my first time at this restaurant, and I must say I was blown away by what I found, Excellent service-the bottle of water on the table never got below half full, and the waiter had a lovely disposition to us. Also, when the meal I ordered was not available, the substitute meal I got was taken off the bill, which was a nod to their excellent customer service. The food was just delicious-I ordered the Goat Gouda Gourgere, the Poached Wild Salmon Salad, and the Cederburg Spritzer, and I was delighted with all three items, especially the gourgere! The waiter was happy to help us decipher the names of items on the menu, as my table has many a question about them. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, and will be back again soon! "

  • "My family and I enjoyed a great meal here on a Sunday night. They have a nice wine list, as well as tasty, inventive cocktails. The charcuterie was fantastic, and the bolognese was spot-on. "

  • "AMAZING experience all-around! I haven't had service like that in a long time. When walking to the restroom, servers stepped to the side to let you pass by."
