I can be a picky customer. I pay close attention to food quality, presentation, ambience, service, recipe innovation and the like. Some say my standards are unreasonably high. The Kitchen exceeded all of my standards. Food was perfect in every sway (I had the ribeye -- best I have ever eaten, while Linda had the chicken). Presentation was elegant and void of gimmicks and unnatural formations. Service was precise, uncomplicated and completely responsive. Ambience was stress-relieving, inviting and comfortable. For all of these reasons, it was most enjoyable evening I have spent dining out. But the most prominent reason for my delight was how I was treated by everyone. It is the warmth and genuineness of the people that make it perfect!

Heard great things about the Kitchen so thought we would try it out. It was our 3rd anniversary and we were looking for a fun vibrant atmosphere and good food. I would have to say that overall the experience was so so. The service was a bit inattentive, and the food lacked vibrancy. The wine list was approachable (although the server was not familiar with our selection) and the dessert list was very standard fare. We left with no urgency to go back.

We dined as a group of three. My son had the bolognese and thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed the steak fritte with maitre de beurre, and my husband ordered the papperadelle with hen mushrooms. Both past dishes were done very well. I feel that this would be a restuarant that would not dissapoint anyone's palate.

Went for our anniversary and the food was excellent and imaginative. Ordered a couple things off of their "community" menu - be sure to pay attention though, not all the dishes listed there are at a discount price (in case you are looking for a deal). Overall, the service was pretty good though we had to go inside to ask if we had a server (think she did not know we were out there) - the server I asked though, immediately helped us and then filled in the person who was covering that area. Other than that, all of the staff were very professional, attentive, and courteous.

Our waiter seemed a bit disoriented and was not very attentive (we were a party of two (2)). This was my first time visiting The Kitchen. I would go back but would ask to be re-seated with a different wait person if I was given the same waiter I had yesterday. I enjoyed everything else about the experience.

My 15 year old foodie daughter was impressed I picked such a cool place. We were there at 3PM on a Friday and enjoyed the Community Hour menu. Her hanger steak frites was one of the best bites of red meat I've had in a while. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich there, then later, the second half of the sandwich was even better later and refrigerated. Can't wait to see their full menu. Very cool vibe.

This was our first time at The Kitchen. The decor was very attractive, drinks delicious, mussels appetizer substantial and perfectly flavored. My husband had steak (ribeye?) and I had a curried chicken. We both cleaned our plates. Atypically, we ordered dessert. His salted caramel gelato was the best we've ever had and I had a meringue/berry selection that was incredible. We will DEFINITELY be back - no complaints.

!Went here for an anniversary dinner, and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived late and have some odd dietary restrictions. The restaurant has a livelier, cafe-type section that is open and lighter, and a more "restaurant-y" section that is dominated by brick walls and ambient lighting. We were initially seated in the cafe area; when we asked to move to the other section (better ambience for an anniv.), we were accommodated right away. I feel like this is usually not the case. The experience just got better from there. Our waiter was knowledgable, personable, and prompt, and the food was excellent - the sturgeon and lamb chops are both highly recommended. Will definitely go back!

My cousin was coming into town from Los Angeles, and I wanted to show her that Denver isn't a food or cultural wasteland. The Kitchen was the obvious choice. They manage to be cool, casual, and still nice enough for a business lunch. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food and drink options (we got a fantastic recommendation on the pea shoot and fava bean bruschetta). The simple, minimalist design makes you forget that you are a few steps away from the chaos and chains on the 16th Street mall. And the menu is varied enough so that there will be something for everyone- entrees, sandwiches, small plates. The food was enjoyed by everyone, and we all left full. The Kitchen never disappoints.

Once again the Kitchen delivered on the promise of great food, wine and service! So how do you take a great product and make it less than wonderful? Play old 1950's diner music and turn the volume up. Playing music in a restaurant with lyrics is weird but to alienate most of your clientele with your genre selection on Pandora, well that might be the difference between selecting the Kitchen next time and some other place. Denver continues to grow in its culinary choices and ambience should be weighed equally along with food, wine and service.

The poor service ruined our experience. We were a party of four. The entrees took forever to be cooked, and when they came out, one of the orders was completely incorrect, which was the fault of a server who had gotten the order confused. I'm willing to overlook errors if people apologize and take responsibility for their mistakes. We received no apologies at all. The three of us who received our correct meals were finished by the time the fourth entree was brought out...still no apologies. There were no regular check-ins by the server, and drinks and water glasses sat unfilled for extended periods of time. The food was not great, but that could have been influenced by the poor service.

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I must say I was blown away by what I found, Excellent service-the bottle of water on the table never got below half full, and the waiter had a lovely disposition to us. Also, when the meal I ordered was not available, the substitute meal I got was taken off the bill, which was a nod to their excellent customer service. The food was just delicious-I ordered the Goat Gouda Gourgere, the Poached Wild Salmon Salad, and the Cederburg Spritzer, and I was delighted with all three items, especially the gourgere! The waiter was happy to help us decipher the names of items on the menu, as my table has many a question about them. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, and will be back again soon!
