  • "We don't live in Boulder, but The Kitchen could be the reason we would move here. The grilled octopus starter was perfect and the prosciutto wrapped monkfish and the rotolo pasta were both fantastic. It's not often you run across a restaurant (in the US) that has Eton mess on the dessert menu--a real treat. Service was friendly and helpful with the "just right" amount of attention. Don't let the somewhat casual ambience fool you because there is nothing casual about the food here. Every neighborhood should have a restaurant like this."

  • "The farm fresh ingredients were so wonderfully evident, complimented by the expert preparation. The food was simple, yet with a subtle complexity. The service was professional yet casual--a welcome style for us! We noticed that he read his guests well and accommodated each table accordingly while retaining consistent service standards--a bit of a gift! It was also amazing to see the kitchen staff calm and happy, which, on a busy Saturday night in a restaurant, is practically unheard of! The whole experience was fantastic--poetry in motion!!"

  • "A party of three, we agreed to indulge and try the Tasting Menu (the entire party at the table must participate). It was amazing! The food was fresh and we'll prepared. The portions were perfect so you could enjoy each course. The Eton Mess dessert was SO good and a pleasant surprise. The service was very attentive but not intrusive."

  • "a subtle and relaxed atmosphere. we did not go for wine but opted for cocktails instead, but the selection is great. i would really recommend the beef tongue as an entree, it was just fantastically done. the tagliatelle pasta with a bolognese sauce was very good with the right amount of cheese to top it off. the couscous and lamb was not bad, but the choice to undercook lamb is beyond me. overall we had a great time."

  • "From the moment we arrived our date night became a romantic journey of good spirits and amazing food. The Rank Steak is one of the best steaks I have had!"

  • "The wine we were recommended by our waitstaff was great. After hearing so much about The Kitchen's menu and reputation I was very underwhelmed with the food we were served."

  • "I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves food & wine. Most everything is in season and locally grown with a menu that changes somewhat daily. "Foodies" would love the food because each dish is bursting with flavor that excites the palate. While I consider the food & wine a five star dining experience, the service is not pretentious like that at a high end restaurant. The staff was down to earth, friendly, and added to the dining experience. To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food received. The Kitchen was a memorable dining experience."

  • "We wanted to see what The Kitchen is like as there is another opening in our hometown of Fort Collins. The restaurant was smaller than expected which made for a more intimate dining experience. The wine list was decent and the menu had a nice variety of dishes. Our food was excellent - fresh ingredients, nicely seasoned and properly cooked. We were glad we arrived early as the restaurant was packed and somewhat noisy when we left about 6:30pm. We certainly recommend The Kitchen to those who appreciate unusual preparations of locally procured ingredients."

  • "Great food!! Very noisy!! We had to shout at each other across the table to be heard. Not a romantic place......but yummy!!"

  • "My wife and I visited the Kitchen in Boulder for the first time last week to celebrate our 35th anniversary. The room was very comfortable, not too noisy and the service was outstanding. I don't often order steak, but I did here based on our server's suggestion and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return on my next visit to Boulder. Outstanding!"

The ambiance was perfect for what we wanted, it felt like a great place for the post college-aged crowd. Everyone was very attentive and the food was unbelievable. We were very happy with our experience and will definitely be back. "

  • "I had the lamb. It was pretty good, but not great. I like the dessert though! I got the sticky toffee pudding and it was really good. The other two people who went with me got the gnocchi- that was really good, and the chicken--really good also. Overall, a great experience"

  • "I like that they take care of their own meat and use it all. The waiters know their food and make good recommendation. The menu is small and changes frequently. Has choices for pasta, meat and fish lovers."

  • "We had our anniversary dinner at the Kitchen. We started the festivities with a cocktail at the Kitchen Upstairs and then had a delicious meal at the main restaurant. Service was great. "

  • "Can't say enough nice things about this place. The ambiance is perfect for the farm to table feel and if you can't eat on the farm, this is the next best thing."

  • "we had a wonderful late night dinner. our waiter, LR, was superb...attentive, knowledgeable and several other servers came out to educate us about the produce, etc. would definitely go back. have also eaten at the kitchen in Denver and it is equally impressive. "

  • "On a weekend getaway to Boulder, I made dinner reservations at The Kitchen when we couldn't get any at Frasca's. The reviews were good, atmosphere was good, menu looked very promising and the service was quite personalized. I'd give the place a much higher rating if the food was as good as everything else. It wasn't bad, but for the price, it should have been much better. My pickled mushrooms veggies and quinoa dish was too heavy on the quinoa, light on the veggies and there were practically no pickled mushrooms to speak of. His grilled chicken was a little tough and nothing special. The drinks were pretty exciting and well-made though, and the biggest redeeming factor was probably the vanilla bean gelato in an espresso shot desert. "

  • "One of the best dinners I have ever had in terms of food. had the service been a little more attentive I would have said one of the best meals ever. "

  • "These restaurants are award winning, locally sourced, and great fun to eat at! I have been several times and I love to try the chef's pre fixe each time. Quite a bargain for a five course meal. The Kitchen's pastas are fantastic and their meat preparations are second to none. Also, be sure to order one of their custom cocktails. You won't be disappointed! And if you want a fantastic brunch spot, The Kitchen is the place. Great salads, pastas and sandwiches. And don't miss dessert! Fresh, homemade and to die for!"

  • "Delicious meal from start to finish. Waiter extremely knowledgable about the menu as well as the wine list. Briefly sat at the bar and the bartender was wonderful as well. We will not forget our meal here. A fantastic evening with delicious food."

  • "We met friends and sampled a variety of options. casatica di Bufala, octopus, octopus, carpaccio, tomato soup appetizers were all to our liking. One in our party thought the octopus was overcooked. For entries we tried lamb, gnocchi , risotto, chicken, and tagliatelle pasta. Everyone raved about their entrees. Pleasant, not rushed atmosphere."

  • "Our evening at the Kitchen was truly memorable. The food was exquisite, and our waiter- Kenneth- was maybe the best we've had anywhere."

  • "Really amazing service - so friendly and prompt. They even waited to deliver dessert when they saw my husband leave the table. The food was fantastic - oysters, rustic bread, homemade pasta, perfectly cooked scallops."

  • "I've been to and loved The Kitchen Denver - decided to try the original. While the food was good, the menu wasn't as big as in the Denver restaurant. In addition, the service was not great. The staff was friendly enough, but it took 3 hours for a weekday dinner for me and my friend. There was a long wait between finishing a shared appetizer and entrees arriving (at least 40 minutes, probably more) and the time between having our entree dishes removed and leaving (we ordered dessert, but it was still over 1 hour). The food was warm enough when it arrived, so maybe it was just an issue with the kitchen. No apologies from anyone. Either way it was not the best experience, and I probably won't be back. Too many great restaurants elsewhere."

  • "Our server was very friendly, but overall the service was slow. I was also surprised when we were seated in front of a large table with a toddler and a baby since I was not expecting to see families with young children dining at the restaurant. The baby cried on and off throughout dinner, and because it was cold and snowing outside, the parents stayed in the restaurant while attempting to soothe their child. I have a four year old nephew and a lot of sympathy for parents, but I have to be honest in saying that having a baby cry at the table next to me detracted from my overall experience at The Kitchen."

  • "All I knew of this place was that it used farm-fresh ingredients, which is what drew me to it. I assumed it would be typical farm food, but it was Italian ha. So that was a surprise. It was good though. My wife's lamb was cold. They cook it a little in advance to let it rest since it is cooked rare, but they didn't warm it up again very well. I called the waiter and told him and he graciously apologized. Then someone who was the owner or manager came and apologized as well and then they brought it back out and it was fine!"

  • "One of the best dinners I've had in a long time. My mother's ramp risotto w/ spring vegetables was both beautiful and delicious. My dad's Koberstein farm steak was as expected--excellent. And my swordfish special was top notch. Not to mention the cauliflower gratin and desserts. To those who don't drink alcohol, the Tiki Soda is an outstanding accompaniment to a meal here. Also, the service from Dan and the rest of the staff is simply top tier, nothing is missed throughout the entire meal. "The Kitchen" should really be proud of the staff they have assembled. I cannot wait to return."

  • "The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We showed up about 45 minutes early for our reservation. So we went upstairs to the bar and within 10 minutes got a call telling us our table was ready. They brought our drinks down stairs for us and from there on out, the service was perfect. They bother you in the middle of your meal, but fill your water and refresh your drinks. The portions of food is great. Just enough to feel full but not so much to be bloated and gross. Everything was delicious and wonderfully presented. Overall, beautiful night. But be ready for a lively crowd, it get a bit noisy."

  • "We started at the bar before dinner. Michael suggested the best drinks. He even shared the recipe with us. That set the tone for a really fabulous night. The food was amazing and service was top rate. I saw lots of small tables but there was a large group of about 10-12 people. The restaurant handled all the different groups with no problem. Definitely recommend the Kitchen and make sure you make a reservation!"

  • "Love this place! It wasn't my first time to The Kitchen and it won't be my last. The food is innovative, unpretentious, and delicious. The wine list is creative - there wasn't one thing on it that I recognized and our server was able to describe, accurately, the wines I asked about. From our charcuterie plate through the apple cobbler dessert (which is quite possibly the best apple cobbler I've ever eaten) this meal was 5 star."
