my wife and I were seated on the front street side patio which was a little busy on a friday (late afternoon 6pm) but good people watching. we enjoy the scene. the food & service were wonderful to exceptional. i had a fair amount of sediment in both glasses of red wine, even in the second, after mentioning it to the waiter. pricing was a bit higher then we had expected, diner for two was $200 with the tip.

AMAZING dinner. Food, as always was delicious. The tuna was exceptional as was the gnocchi and the sticky toffee cake is unbelievable! Our server Kelly made our night - she was nice, gave us great recommendations and was just fantastic. And this was our wedding dinner - you made it more memorable than we could have imagined. Thank you. We will be back often and always recommend The Kitchen! Jaime and John Surenkamp (name was Shearls)

We love your food, but this visit was incredibly noisy, and our entrees took far too long to reach us after our first courses. We'll be back, but we encourage you to do something about the noise, which unfortunately detracts from your beautiful food.

At 8:15 2 entries were sold out of maybe 10 total which of course were the ones we wanted. The service and servers were prompt, knowledgeable and professional. The wine list was interesting and somewhat top end heavy but good. However the reliance on local everything made the chefs extend their reach a little to far for culinary inventivness. The ambiance was also somewhat barren which was highlighted by the all aluminium chairs. But having said all that I'll give them an B+ for effort and a C+ for execution.

I've been to The Kitchen twice now, the first time I brought some foodies from NYC, everyone was thrilled by the expereince we had there. The service was great and the food quality and presentation was excellent. On my second visit the expereince didn't live up to the expectation set from the previous meal. Though I ordered different food and am not comparing apples to apples, I found that both the dishes and the appetizer were not nearly as good as what I had tried on my first visit. Overall I think The Kitchen is a great restaurant, the first meal they served was good enough to overshadow one lackluster experience. I look forward to retunring in the futre.

Orders were backed up due to a very large party, so food service was slow. Our server was very apologetic and had the chef prepare a complimentary vegetable antipasto and also took 10% off our check. Ingredients are from local suppliers and the kitchen is run on wind power. Their oils are recycled for biodiesel.

I have many good things to say about our recent experience at The Kitchen. Our server was great. The first course was great. The wine was great. It was great all around really. One complaint though. I ordered the lamb and had no indication from its description on the menu that the dish would be so spicy. Not a little bit spicy either. A lot spicy. Now, I know I could have sent the dish back, but I abhor wasting food more than eating something that is too spicy for me. And since we followed our meal up with their excellent angel food cake dessert, my tongue was well on its way to recovery after the first bite. The Kitchen might consider having the servers warn guests who order this dish or ones like it. Thanks for listening.

Since there was a sizeable group dining very close by, their noise drowned out any chance of a reasonable conversation between my wife and myself. The quality and novelty of the food continues to be good but I was surprised that a lamb dish on the menu had "run out" by as early as 6:15 in the evening. Attentive service without being overwhelming. The food will draw us back again.

greetings. I enjoy coming to Boulder and, with those trips, always make it to The Kitchen. The Kitchen is so very good for every meal. I truly appreciate the ambiance and the food is grand. I love the location, too. Whenever I leave a city like Boulder, I am grateful to return to my hometown of Rapid City, SD. As I drive back into my town, I often think the good and bad news of living here (rather than a city like Boulder). Good news: less traffic. BAD news: No 'Kitchen' AND I can name on one hand, the best restaurants in town AND the surrounding area (the Black Hills) :- ( !! Think of expanding to the Black Hills of South Dakota! Thanks for all your hard work. Sincerely, pat b

We had a new server who brought the wrong entree and was pretty slow checking in on us all evening. Nice guy, but definitely could have used some more training before hitting the floor by himself. We split the gnocchi appetizer, and it was very good. She had the scallops and they were also quite good, though perhaps not worth the $26 or $27. I had the lamb and it was alright. The sauce was kind of bland and too watery to stay on the fork or meat. The wine pairings were good. Overall a nice meal, but we left feeling there are better deals for finer dining in Boulder.

This restaurant represents everything that is quintessentially good about Boulder. It was, first and foremost, spectacularly delicious, and, without a doubt, the best meal I've had in Colorado. The decor was sophisticated and elegant, in an effortlessly casual way. The sommelier was knowledgeable yet unpretentious, and the waitstaff was skilled yet incredibly welcoming. And knowing that you can enjoy such hedonism in a restaurant that is so eco-friendly and supportive of local farmers makes the experience at The Kitchen that much more wonderful.

Country kitchen-style cooking. Good comfort food, but not worth the high prices. Amazing wine- but $15 a glass! Probably enjoyed the endive fennel chevre salad the most. It was unique and interesting. The creamed cauliflower and potato fennel soup were good but not very exciting. The gnocci with kale was too salty. The beet risotto was bland and strange. Excellent bread and olive oil. Wonderful Pot au Chocolat dessert. We've eaten upstairs at their "Tasting Hour" and thinks it's better. Still good food, but much better prices on everything, including wine. Overall good, just not worth the hype.
