We have been to The Kitchen several times over the past several years. The food is always incredible, and the service is top notch. The most recent visit was for a special occasion, which the server, hostess, and bartender all acknowledged. That is customer service at its finest. Their wine list is very inclusive, and the wait staff is happy to offer suggestions. It is highly recommended!

The food was outstanding. So flavorful and unique. We had the CO striped bass and red shrimp risotto as entrees. Both were great. The starters of chicken liver pate and a country terrine were amazing. The design is mid-century modern and a wonder Kitchen Next Door bar. If you're looking for a cozy dining spot with a special farm to table feel this is the spot. Service was solid, attentive. It's just hard to not be blown away by the food itself. Outstanding wine selection.

I had previously been to The Kitchen in Denver, and was hoping this would live up to that great meal. We started our meal with three cheese, and bowl of spiced nuts. These cheeses were all good enough, and the nuts were quite tasty. For my entree, I ordered the bolognese, which I thought was pretty good. My guest ordered two starters for her entree. While she thoroughly enjoyed her hand-rolled gnocchi, I don't think she really cared for the acorn squash. So overall, the meal was good, though she was less enthusiastic than I was. We had a good selection of wines, and the service was great. I would go back to either location again.

A diner can have a perfect meal at the Kitchen. The food is good, not fancy, but just good, simple, elegantly prepared food. But it's overpriced for what you get. The ambiance is not special. It's pretty noisy--hard to carry on a conversation in a regular voice. The chairs are uncomfortable, and the tables are too close together. It's like a NY diner, with better food, and much higher prices. The food is prepared ethically, and the restaurant tries for zero to 5% waster, which is something I appreciate. Overall, pretty good. Not as good as Root Down or any of the other places I love. But...good.

Just as good as all our other visits. The Kitchen is a tier above the other serious food places in Boulder, in my opinion. Did the chef's tasting menu this time, finally, with really excellent, unusual selections by our server. Terrific meal.

The menu at the Kitchen is exciting and ever changing as they work with local farmers to have seasonal-fresh foods. We had a heritage pork option for our main entree and it was phenomenal. They also had a seasonal yam appetizer which was perfectly seasoned. YUM! In addition, there is a special wine that is served here which is extracted from the bottle using a special technique to prevent oxidation in any form. I don't recall specifically what wine we had, but oh dear, it was so delicious you have to try it if you go! The waiter we had was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to effectively explain each item we inquired about. Overall I highly recommend this place! Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, it was busy

We visited 3 great restaurants in Boulder and the Kitchen was our favourite because of the authentic service and attention, delicious food, a nice organic flow amongst the staff - everyone was sort of integrated and a nice community feel and care. I really really wanted to love this place. I like the idea behind the restaurant. the hostess was very sweet when I called to say we had gotten lost and would be 5-10 min late and even charged my iphone while we ate. food was good, but not good enough to overcome service. our server was beyond cheeky. at first we thought it was part of a "friendly/sarcastic" act but it became clear that he was curt and giving our table attitude (but not the tables on either side of us) for no discernible reason. a few minutes after we'd asked for bread and lemon slices, he was walking by empty-handed, I asked about the earlier request. he rolled his eyes and said "everything in its time". and it went downhill from there. so sad this waiter ruined our meal.

We were visiting Boulder from Minneapolis and went here on the recommendation of a local. Couldn't have been more pleased. Enjoyed a terrific dinner featuring a Long Farm pork chop and agnolotti with kale...food was fresh, well prepared and tasted like the ingredients NOT salt!!! LOVED. Even made room for an Eton Mess for dessert. Have tried several times to replicate at home without nearly the same success. Communal atmosphere, great space and near lots of places for a pre-dinner/post-dinner cocktail.

The Kitchen is overpriced and pretentious. That would be ok but the food is average. This assessment is based on tasting several different dishes over time. The restaurant is consistent. The wine list is very interesting and diverse, but again, very overpriced. Markup from retail is one thing, but a Provençal Rose that retails for $20 is $65 here. Too much.

We don't live in Boulder, but The Kitchen could be the reason we would move here. The grilled octopus starter was perfect and the prosciutto wrapped monkfish and the rotolo pasta were both fantastic. It's not often you run across a restaurant (in the US) that has Eton mess on the dessert menu--a real treat. Service was friendly and helpful with the "just right" amount of attention. Don't let the somewhat casual ambience fool you because there is nothing casual about the food here. Every neighborhood should have a restaurant like this.

The farm fresh ingredients were so wonderfully evident, complimented by the expert preparation. The food was simple, yet with a subtle complexity. The service was professional yet casual--a welcome style for us! We noticed that he read his guests well and accommodated each table accordingly while retaining consistent service standards--a bit of a gift! It was also amazing to see the kitchen staff calm and happy, which, on a busy Saturday night in a restaurant, is practically unheard of! The whole experience was fantastic--poetry in motion!!

a subtle and relaxed atmosphere. we did not go for wine but opted for cocktails instead, but the selection is great. i would really recommend the beef tongue as an entree, it was just fantastically done. the tagliatelle pasta with a bolognese sauce was very good with the right amount of cheese to top it off. the couscous and lamb was not bad, but the choice to undercook lamb is beyond me. overall we had a great time.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves food & wine. Most everything is in season and locally grown with a menu that changes somewhat daily. "Foodies" would love the food because each dish is bursting with flavor that excites the palate. While I consider the food & wine a five star dining experience, the service is not pretentious like that at a high end restaurant. The staff was down to earth, friendly, and added to the dining experience. To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food received. The Kitchen was a memorable dining experience.

We wanted to see what The Kitchen is like as there is another opening in our hometown of Fort Collins. The restaurant was smaller than expected which made for a more intimate dining experience. The wine list was decent and the menu had a nice variety of dishes. Our food was excellent - fresh ingredients, nicely seasoned and properly cooked. We were glad we arrived early as the restaurant was packed and somewhat noisy when we left about 6:30pm. We certainly recommend The Kitchen to those who appreciate unusual preparations of locally procured ingredients.
