Diner Reviews
  • "We were warmly welcomed by the hostess who did not only took us to a quieter corner of the restaurant (as per my request) but also acknowledged my spouse 40th Birthday! The server though was quite strange and despite asking for a quiet place to enjoy our date, a party of 6 people was seated right by our booth, 10 minute after we arrived. The group was lovely but loud which did affect our overall satisfaction. On the other side, the food was fabulous, as always and between the exquisite starter, the marvelous wine and our steaks, we couldn't have been happier."

  • "Went for dinner with my husband and two kids. Our server was super friendly and service was great. We were asked if everything was ok/tasted good, our beverages were refilled, etc. All the usual little things you would expect but are often neglected. I was a little disappointed that they ran out of lobster (we did go shortly before closing) but was very pleased that they offered extra crab or shrimp and still gave a generous discount."

  • "Great variety of steaks. Just the right restaurant after a long dayof skiing. Try the combo and add lobster tail to your stitloin or prime rib!"

  • "Perfectly cooked steak, not cheap, but then nothing in Whistler is. Went back and ordered the same thing again as so happy with first meal"

  • "It had been several years since we had been to The Keg, but were quite pleased with the food and the service on this visit. We will go back some time."

  • "We were part of conference and two people were running behind for our reservation of 4 that was made long in advance. They would not seat us and gave away our table without telling us. We waited over 30 minutes until we finally tracked someone down who could tell us we actually no longer had a table. We moved on to Earl's where they were happy to accomodate us. Very dissapointed."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in Whistler and make sure to hit it every time we get to Whistler. This weekend was for a birthday celebration. The food is always excellent, this outing we chose prime rib, blue cheese crusted filet and the lobster. Along with appetizers of crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops and French onion soup. All 3 of us had a perfect meal. Their Martini's are the best in Whistler too!"

  • "Great service, average food (much much better a couple of years ago) but great wine as suggested by Jasper our waiter. Will return but next time I will ask more questions before I order, i.e. I hate pepper and the filet steak had been so heavily seasoned with the stuff I could hardly taste the steak). The twice cooked jacket potato was also luke warm and obviously just out of the microwave. For some strange reason I didn't complain - I think hunger won!"

  • "We selected this since it was close to use and had good reviews. Good steaks (nothing fabulous) and the rest of our food was pretty good. Good rolls too. A little pricey, but within reason for a resort area. Server was fine, but a little socially awkward to work with."

  • "Great night at the Keghouse, staff were excellent and could not have been more accomodating arranging the tablefor a combined 40th birthday and engagement party! Food was outstanding!!!"

  • "This is our 5th visit to The Keg over the years, and sadly it was a little disappointing. Our waiter had a difficult time staying focused on any table, let alone tracking our own needs. It was especially bad when he showed up with our salads, appetizers, AND dinner all at the same time, fully consuming our table. Also, this was the first time we all had to say that The Keg did not fully live up to its standards of quality food for whatever reason. We had a group of 6, and everyone was consistent on the reviews."

  • "Very busy but acknowledge it is in Whistler, a ski resort. The food was average for a steak house and very expensive for the quality of meat. We enjoyed our evening but I would choose somewhere else the next visit. Our waiter was good and table setting was fine. WIne was from local area and substantially over priced for the quality."

  • "The 3 of us went for dinner. The res. was easy the service great. The food was delicious. Lighting a tad poor for reading the menus. All in all a good dining experience. Todd was superb. As the lighting was poor we used a pocket [ wifes pink one ] flashlight to read the menu's. During the course of the night it was left on our table when we departed. We were the last group to leave the upper section & there were no more seatings after us. I called the next day to enquire when I might come & pick it up. I figured the staff would have given it to your lost & found section, makes sense. Apparently this was not the case. It just DISAPPEARED, as will our business & anyone else I will talk to."

  • "Best steak in Whistler and very healthy options for the kids."

  • "Food was excellent and kids enjoyed the experience. Waiter was very attentive to our needs. Would definitely come here again. A bit pricey for a family."

  • "Food was good tasting and portion size. They served the wrong steaks but would not admit it and made up a story about the size instead. When we cut into them it was clear they were wrong because of how they were cooked so we had to switch ourselves but we ordered different size steaks so that was a drag. Wine list was just okay"

  • "Great meal in Whistler and very well priced. Service was also great -- staff very friendly and observant. They were very busy on Christmas Eve and yet provided an awesome experience."

  • "We were seated right away by a friendly hostess. She informed us that at this very table there have been 7 engagement proposal over the past 2 years! It was nice niche table with windows and a sky-light and great views. The food was awesome! And huge portions, too. The waiter was a bit too busy and did not allow himself time for personal, eye-contact, service, but it was OK. Overall, it was a great experience."

  • "The Keg is our go-to restaurant when we are looking for steak or seafood. It is always a great meal and we know we are getting good value for our dollar. The Keg at Whistler was no different. Our meal was, as usual, delicious and the service was very good. The only criticisms I have about Whistler Keg is that the young ladies greeting us at the door seemed disorganized and inconvenienced by our arrival. They did not welcome us with an attitude of "Welcome, we are pleased to see you", but more "Oh, here you are, ok, go stand over there and even though you have a reservation, we'll get to you when we can - can't you see we're busy". All in all I would go back for the wonderful food."

  • "We went to The Keg last year when we came to whistler, just on a whim. It was amazing then so came back this year and celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had the prime rib and lobster. Both amazing. The service is awesome and the prices are decent for a high end dinner. Great drinks too! We will be back in February for sure when we visit whistler again."

  • "I cannot find the appropriate words to describe the wonderful evening that we had thanks to The Keg at Whistler. The food was over the top, and the service was nothing short of perfect. If you're looking for a great meal at Whistler stop in at The Keg! Reservations are recommended."

  • "Kitchen could not handle a 70% full restaurant.we waited 1 hour for our hot food Waitress was very nice reservation was made one week early and reserved table wad awful.would have been special to have been seated at the fireplace... Hostess said we had a nice view there was nothing outside the cold window Caesar salad was too large and very bland I'd give the food a 4 out of 10 and Decor very dated.I would not come back to this keg or recommend.sorry"

  • "We made a special trip up to Whistler from Vancouver for my partners birthday. We usually dine at the Vancouver Keg and love it. Needless to say we were not impressed with what we thought would be a romantic and enjoyable dinner at the Whistler location. It began with a attempt by the hostess to seat us beside a very loud party (over 10 people who where celebrating a special event) while many other tables in a less crazy part of the dining room were available. When we requested to be seated elsewhere we were quickly rushed off to another section right by the stairs. We waited for quite some time before a waiter appeared, and even contemplated leaving at one point. Food was sub par when it did arrive which took a long time. Poor all around."

  • "I have never had a poor experience at a Keg before but we dined with a group of 9 and had terrible food. One medium steak was very rare, and another ordered as well done was charred to a crisp. The Margarita on the rocks I ordered came as a Soda water with lime in a martini glass. The drink was replaced and the steaks recooked however the original order took over an hour to come after we ordered meals and the new steaks took 45 mins which meant our party had to leave us there to eat so they could make later meeting time we had booked. The server did what he could to make up for it, but we were quite blown away. I have been to this Keg before with no issues, so rather confused."
