A word from The Junction
The Junction is the first full service restaurant in Asheville's River Arts District. We feature Southern-inspired farm to table fare and seasonal craft cocktails with fresh ingredients. We brine our fried chicken, smoke our pears, handcraft our soups and visit tailgate markets weekly. We make our own bacon and ketchup, squeeze cases of citrus each week for cocktails and work with other local, small businesses whenever possible. We invite you to join us after work for a casual beer and a burger at the bar, or to bring your beloved or whole family for a unique dining experience. Our menu features a combination of soups, salads and sharing plates as well as hearty entree options so that every dining experience is unique. Please visit our website to preview menus, as they change weekly.Continued

  • "I loved the Easter brunch at The Junction! The food was amazing and everyone was so friendly and courteous. "

  • "Owners/staff were very friendly, service was great. Small but cozy dining area was lovely, local artist's work on display was beautiful."

  • "Have been to this restaurant multiple times and been blown away each time. Their food, drinks, and service are all amazing and their ability to accommodate for diners with celiac is outstanding. The restaurant itself is warm and cozy with a great patio. Really one of my favorite places in Asheville. "

  • "Than brunch. Brunch was okay but the I felt like the dinner menu is better. Food was good just wasn't as bowled over as I was when I had dinner again. Would give brunch another shot though. "

  • "The junction was the perfect place for a birthday dinner. Even with an art opening happening the same evening, they were able to accommodate our large party. Everything was wonderful!"

  • "Had a reservation but waiting at least 45 min. for a table. Seemed to have difficulty managing tables b/c many were empty when we got there, just before our time slot. Food was slow to come, at least another 30 minutes for the main course. I ordered an appetizer salad so at least had that in the meantime. No "free" bread to hold us over during the long waits. Great drink menu, very creative there. The food was unusually creative, a little too much, b/c I think some of the essence of the main aspect of the meal was lost. But this is the US and we are a land of plenty so I hate to even say anything negative. But the prices are rather high for most people, it's a cool restaurant, and maybe this review will help them along."

  • "Loved this place! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We wanted to sit on the patio, but it was booked. The owner re-arranged his seating chart so we could sit inside but right by the open doorway to the patio. The entrees were standard, chicken osso bocco, etc. But the twist on the meal and the accompaniments were interesting and well done. We had osso bocco with a grapefruit "relish" that married well! The small plates were large enough to be an entree. Be careful when ordering or you will have way to much food. Room was nice and not noisy. Casual dining with great food. Go by all means, you won't be disappointed"

  • "Enjoyed a great meal. Only have small complaints. One, with fried chicken. Only two pieces.Three would have been nicer. House wine was $10 per glass which I thought pricey."

  • "We've been to many Asheville restaurants and somehow missed this one. What a nice surprise! Creative menu and great service. It's right up there with the best in "restaurant city"."

  • "This place is a hidden gem!!! We travel around a lot and are foodies from Chicago. This place Is super small, intimate and incredible. It is off the beaten path in an "artistic" area. It was super cool with old glass and brick windows between the bar and seating area. The kitchen is semi open. The hand crafted cocktails superb! The owner confirmed our reservations by phone and also seated us when we arrived remembering our conversation.. When we walked in the fragrance made our knees buckle with smokiness and roasted herbs. The food according to my 10 year old who had the fried chicken was 100 on a 10 point scale. The dinner was so amazing, we came back for brunch the next day before heading to Charleston. WOW!!! GO!!"

I was immediately introduced to my Host, Taylor, who also made me feel like this is the place to be.... and it was. Table was set up promptly and professional...Meal served with affection and timely. I will be back and will tell my associates."

  • "My husband and I were surprised to learn The Junction has been in Asheville for nearly three years. I discovered it by accident on Open Table, and thank goodness I did. We were there for Saturday evening supper, along with a nearly full house of other delighted patrons. We ordered two small plates, a mushroom pate ravioli and a mousseline of two fishes, as well as the sweet tea-brined fried chicken. All were taste delights! The small plates were very generous in size. The mousseline was accompanied by smoked fingerling potatoes, fennel hushpuppies and crispy fried pigs' ears. The fried chicken was easily the best we've found in this area. We'll definitely go back, and next time, we'll take friends! The Junction is a big hit!"

  • "We went in a group based on the great word of mouth. The Junction lived up to the hype, friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere."

  • "The Junction is an interesting juxtaposition of 1950's kitchen in a garage band's garage. The food is hearty, all-American, goes with the bigness of the food. The $38 Baby Amarone we drank was perfect terrific with both the pork chop and the Junction Burger. The food was spot on GOOD - from the burger and chop to the salmon and brisket that the couple with us had. They also have small plates and lighter fare, although I think this is the kind of place you should go to with a good appetite and just revel in big, strong American food decadence. Also, don't miss the key lime pie. It's a perfect counterbalance."

  • "Asheville has a lot to chose from where food is concerned. The food at the junction is top tier. My group really enjoyed having Mike wait on us. The drinks were not only good but also unique! Who serves pork rind with pecan pie filling, a touch of chili powder on a platter. THE JUNCTION! The pork rind was awesome. My bone in pork chop was the most moist, best tasting chop I can remember in years either exceeding or equalling the pork chop at Limones. We also enjoyed mussels, deep fried cauliflower, fried chicken, brussel sprouts and oyster sliders. Not a bad bite to be had. HIGHLY recommended."

  • "I love this restaurant, whether sitting at the bar enjoying small bits or a table for full-on dinner. The food is always spot-on and delicious and their cocktails are innovative but not crazy. Always a great place to meet friends and enjoy food and drink!"

  • "Both the restaurant and menu are quaint and eclectic. The flavor combinations are as fresh as their ingredients and extremely well balanced. The server was very friendly and extremely helpful. She even served up some ganache after discovering they had sold out of their desserts. I can't until the next time I'm able to visit this place!"

  • "Went here with my wife while we were in town from Atlanta for a few days, and I must say the food is to die for they are known for their chicken but I had the brisket and WOW WOW WOW the jalapeno cornbread puree and fried brussel sprouts made the meal Pop off the plate and the drinks were just as good any time I am in Asheville be it business or just to get away I will be sure to make my reservation in advance!!!!!"

  • "When we arrived our reservation wasn't changed from 4 to 6, which I did through open table! The hostess said this is always a problem! Please look into this on your software!"

  • "Had a great evening at The Junction with some friends. We all enjoyed our dinners and the service was terrific. The owner, hostess and our waiter all were warm and genuine. We eat out a lot in the Asheville area and The Junction is one of our favorites now."

  • "What a perfect place! I love the scale of this restaurant- not too large but big enough to have lots of energy. The menu speaks for itself- I had a difficult time deciding what to order! finally chose the smoked brisket. Wow! Cocktail menu is perhaps the most creative I've seen in Asheville. Definitely will be back- I want to try their outdoor dining this spring."

  • "4 friends and I had the pleasure of eating at the Junction on Valentine's night. We started with the "snack" of pecan pie filling, pork rind, grilled apple sauce, peppered pecans and blue cheese. I had the pork chop with root veggies---I wanted to lick the plate to get every last bite. This meal fell into one of the top 5 meals I have ever had. The only "bad" part of the evening was how long it took to be served a drink. Did not get served our first drink until 30 min after we were seated."

  • "I enjoyed the eclectic menu and modern but warm decor. The food is unlike anything you might order at another restaurant as well as comforting to eat. I had never had venison before and I really enjoyed the presentation and flavor. I really enjoyed the appetizer - a pickled, then fried cauliflower. I would eat that again and again."

  • "The Junction is a gem of Asheville. I only go a couple of times a year for special occasions, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. There are a lot of semi-fancy restaurants in this town, but the Junction really stands out. It is not cheap, but it worth it. While several of the other restaurants of its kind in Asheville seem to rely on hype, expectations of quality, pretense and the inclusion lots of obscure ingredients in their menus, the Junction is just really really good."

  • "Everything about the evening was great. Mike helped start us off with a wonderful Spanish wine, and from there the food just flowed wonderfully, and we ended with a key lime pie, that should be called something closer to Key Lime Heaven. This restaurant continues to turn out delicious inventive dishes. Can't recommend just one -- try any -- you won't be disappointed!"

  • "Brunch for 2 today was an all around wonderful event. We had the sweet tea brined fried chicken, the scrapple biscuit, a Bloody Mary and a Smooth Criminal. WOW. The entrees were so original without being pretentious, the drinks fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant was full of happy people enjoying great food. This was not our first good experience at The Junction so we will continue to put it in our dining out rotation. Major bang for the buck. Love love love the food!"

  • "We haven't been to The Junction in a long time, and were very impressed by the friendly greeting (by name), the personal care and hospitality by both the owner and the staff. Everyone was in a great mood, the restaurant was buzzing (and very full!) and the food was excellent. And you MUST try the hot buttered rum. Effort was put into one meal being gluten free - thanks - and so, we'll be back!"
