Have been to The Junction multiple times. While some menu items change, food is consistently creative and delicious, and service has been consistently excellent. The key lime pie, which is a consistent menu item, is the absolute best I have ever eaten.

This is the fourth time I've eaten at The junction and it never disappoints. The food is always spot on, unique and delicious! Price points are a little high so I don't get to eat there as often as I would like but it's definitely my go to spot for a special occasion. Can't talk this place up enough! Oh and the mock tails the bartender made for me... Mind = blown! Not the run of the mill cranberry and sprite I'm so accustomed to getting. She made serious thought out drinks for this t totaler!

Being one of the few restaurants in the relatively new River Arts District in Asheville, there's not a lot of nightlife in the area but Junction is definitely a gem! Minutes from downtown, easy parking, there is no reason to not check them out. The food was more adventurous than run-of-the-mill American cuisine ("Tongue-in-Cheek" with beef tongue and cheek and the "Biscuit Dough with Bleu Cheese and Walnut Sauce" were delish) and the location more intimate (no mega-dining rooms for tourists, just a handful of tables). Service was prompt and the staff was extremely helpful. It does get a tad noisy with a full house, but that's par for the course in venues that are converted warehouses in historic districts. Go with the flow. :)

I had a reservation for 9 people, most of them foodies. They were ready on time and the waiter was a hoot! Very eclectic menu and it was explained in a most unusual way. ALL 9 people RAVED that it was amazing! We pooled anything left over (which wasn't much) and we gave it to the birthday boy to take home. The only thing which I wasn't expecting was that it was a bit more expensive than I thought. Small dishes were in the $15 range and larger entree' s were in the $23 range. Luckily, we didn't drink too much so we could afford it. Also, it was really nice that they didn't automatically put a tip on the tab. I'm sure we gave a much bigger tip than would have been put there and we also got better service as a result. I recommend!

We had a table of 6 and the owner was there to greet us and he was very cordial. The staff was good, not great. When we asked for suggestions, he said "everything's good". Food was good, not great. We started with the biscuit appetizer and no one liked it much. The meat and cheese board was more appealing and everyone enjoyed this. Two had the fried chicken, two the burgers, one the brisket and one the catfish. The best raves were from the catfish. The dessert was a chocolate tart which was very tasty. Overall the noise level was almost unbearable, which detracted from the enjoyment. I want to say I loved this place as the owners are working diligently, but it just didn't make the mark with any of our group.

We had a table for 6 Friday night; 5 of our 6 ordered different entrees, all were very fresh with great flavors. I had the fried chicken which is as good as fried chicken can be and not greasy. If I had one suggestion at all, it would be to have an extra veggie side on the plate to add to and complement the meal. I give this a 4 of 5 stars rating on food, and 4.5 of 5 on service/friendly vibe. Note re ambiance, this is Asheville cool casual, not fancy.

It is very crowded. Tables are very close together so the servers have to squeeze around. Very loud also. I was not crazy about the food. It was fair but nothing to write home about. Ordered the buffalo bites and got oysters by mistake. One of our guests is allergic to oysters and we only found out that we were served the wrong thing after he had eaten one (preparation prevented knowing that there were oysters in the dish). Luckily he did not have a reaction. My husband had the fried chicken and is was still very pink in the center. Waiter told us that was normal. (May be normal in his world, but pink chicken is not normal in my world!) My brisket was more like beef stew. Service was ok, but a little slow and a little cocky.

The junction is a garage converted into a restaurant, and is relatively small. The atmosphere was cool, very hip and intimate. Although I will mention it was weird to have our silverware wrapped in thin cheap napkins at a fine dining restaurant. The wine selection was pretty good and so were there cocktails--I ordered a Manhattan, it seemed to be a little weak but was still good. The food had some minor issues (hence not giving them 5 stars), because the brisket was a little dry and the fried chicken was clearly underseasoned (the skin tasted only of buttermilk and flour). Also the oysters were heavily fried and covered in Buffalo sauce--which was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, I may be a little critical but I guess I expected more.

It is a small space with crowded tables and a high noise level. The food is good with a lot of innovative combinations. (The fried pork rind with caramel and pecans was really good for dessert!). The kitchen is very accommodating on substitutions of one item for another or leaving off a sauce. The wait staff was very solicitous. That being said - the food was good; not over the top.

Important to know: Small, crowded and kind of noisy on weekends; off on a not - so - traveled street, and kind of inconspicuous, BUT the food preparation and presentation is great, the service is efficient, management is dedicated and personable. Out of all the super restaurants in Asheville, we chose to take a friend from Atlanta to The Junction for dinner on a Saturday night. She loved it! Across from a train depot and active tracks. Parking easy on street or free lot by depot.

We decided to give it a try after reading reviews and we're so glad we did! The best fried chicken (brined in sweet tea, no less) I've had in a restaurant. My husband had the crepinette briquette (combination of pork and lamb) and our daughter had the brisket. For dessert we shared the pork rind with pecan pie, which is on the small plate section of the menu but have it for dessert instead. Sweet and salty at its best! They did an excellent job with the cocktails as well. We'll be back!

Yes, you can go downtown and search for parking and be in the hub bub of the action, fight for space in Washeville or you can enjoy the ambiance of the RAD. The Junction was an excellent find in the River Arts District. I hate to give it a glowing review because the little cozy contemporary restaurant will become overrun. But it deserves your attention. Great food quality. Interesting preparations. Inventive combinations. Well prepared. Is that not what we look for in a restaurant? I am sure you will find all these and more at The Junction!

This is a great little spot nestled in the River Arts. It's nice to get away from the craziness of downtown while still having the cool vibe of River Arts. Junction has a great atmosphere and when the weather is nice, they open a main door for indoor/outdoor seating. Start off with some craft cocktails before diving into the creative and eclectic menu. There's always a good neighborhood scene of regulars who live in the hood, so the bar is inviting and approachable.

The restaurant is extremely noisy. There is a large glass wall that rolls up like a garage door so that the dining room opens to the patio - and the train tracks across the street. Three long trains went past during our dinner. The interior is all hard surfaces so that doesn't help either. Not a place to go if you want a quiet conversation. That said, the food was very good - I especially enjoyed the salad with goat cheese and roasted vegetables. Good wine list. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. I would go back again if we lived in the area, but since we're from out of town we will probably try someplace else on our next visit to Asheville.

We picked this restaurant based on their online menu: it was not overly done. We were very impressed with the food, although the selection is small. We ordered all dishes to share: oysters, chicken livers and fried chicken. Both the oysters and the livers were an interesting comparison of fired to pickled to salty to fresh. The chicken was the best I have ever eaten. It was brined in sweet tea and was exceptionally juicy with a very thin crisp crust. The tomatoes in grits was the only part i did not care for ... this is a personal taste. We both look forward to revisiting Asheville so we can come to this restaurant.

We were visiting from Brooklyn and were pleasantly surprised they were able to accommodate a large group that morning. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. The location, in an old Nabisco factory in a revitalized part of town (the art district) is a welcome relief from the traffic of central Asheville. The ambience is well-thought out, with a mix of aged brick and wood and fresh, bright paint. Everything we ordered was exceptional, fresh and seasonal, and they were able to meet the needs of a range of dietary restrictions. After, we explored some of the lovely galleries nearby. We highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I live in Atlanta. This was our third trip to Asheville and our third trip to The Junction! We have to eat there every time we go. The food is so good. The menu is always creative. The sweet-tea brined chicken is a delicious menu staple, and so is the chocolate torte, but otherwise it seems like most of the stuff is new each time we go. The place itself is pretty small, but that adds to the ambience. I love going to the River Arts District area.
