We love trying new restaurants but can have pretty high standards when it comes to food quality and service. The Julep Cup came through on both fronts. I had one of the best filets I've ever had in a restaurant, witha tasty wedge salad to start. My husband had the double pork chop with an amazing apple and bacon slaw that left him wanting to lick the plate. He also enjoyed his bourbon beer that was listed as a specialty. We wanted to try dessert, but were simply too full. The atmosphere was relaxing and the inviting. Very dark and couldn't see to read the menu! we were then moved to another location where the lighting was much better. Service was very good. Shrimp and Grits GREAT but the expensive cut of steak at Medium was dry and tasteless. Ceasar salad was nice and the bread great. Once again, everything was perfect for a wonderful romantic evening. The food was delicious and beautifully placed. The owner was delightful...came over and talked with us, not just about our dinner selections, but about various things. Our wait staff personnel was so friendly and anxious to help us in any way possible...and they did.

Had the asparagus been cooked just a little more, the whole evening would have been a 5+ Star experience. Atmosphere was great, food was superbly delicious, the service was top notch from beginning to end and the New York quality jazz entertainment by the Gail Wynters duo made me stay and have an after dinner drink, which I ordinarily would not have done. Truly the first upscale place where I can actually say I got more than my money's worth.
