The Jolly Cricket reviews from OpenTable diners
  • All 4 of us had a good dinner,
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 11/2/2012
All 4 of us had a good dinner, each had a different selection. 3 of us had salads, & 1 soup. Had to ask for bread, crackers, and 1 salad came after others had finished. The late chopped salad was smaller and not the same ingredients as the others. Our server was very attentive but it seemed the other wait staff let him down. Still we enjoyed out dinners and would return.

We made a reservation on Open Table the same day we visited. It was an evening when 5th Avenue South was closed off for the Sprint for the Cure race. We were seated timely, the service was very good and the food was excellent. I would go back again.

We continue to be impressed with the food and servers at the jolly cricket. Keep up the great work! The omelets are delicious, soft and filled with whatever you ask for. The multigrain toast is my favorite. My husband loves the "bangers", the English sausages!

This is not our first time at The Jolly Cricket, from being greeted to walking out with a big thank you, it never fails to exceed expectations. You have to get the meatloaf, it is the best. For the best waiter there, ask for Frank!!

  • Old fish was served
    DaveVIP
    Dined on 8/3/2012
I had Chicken Rollatini which was deep fried rather than being baked. Regardless, it was OK and had a good flavor. My wife ordered Grouper. When you smell a fish odor before the food arrives at the table, you know the fish is old. You don't do this at a restaurant on 5th avenue in Naples Florida!!! There are too many other restaurants from which you can choose. The manager gratiously exchanged the fish for another entree. Regardless, the damage was already done.

I don't like super MICRO wave food. I had to wait ten minutes to start my dinner after it way served ( the asian noodles) since it had been so overly heated. Will eat other choices instead. Also will not recomment the curry served in a Japanese Bento box??? Why don't you just forget the asia food and stick to something that you might know more about?

I realize that it was Mother's Day and perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed. However, the presentation and quality of the brunch served was not as good as it was on very recent previous visits. If this had been the only time we had visited Jolly Cricket it would NOT make it stand out in our view as a favorite for repeats.

My friend and I were looking for Mother's Day brunch. I found Open Table online and made a reservation. The restaurant wasn't busy at 11 a.m. but on Mother's Day you never know. Anyway, wonderful atmosphere and beatifully relaxing music from the pianist. The server was pleasant and attentive and the brunch menu had a good variety of fare. My friend and I both had omelets that were light and very tasty. The fresh fruit side was yummy. An overall great experience. Already planning our next trip.

A great value on Fifth Avenue! (Probably should not have said that as they will raise their prices?) A diverse menu that covers all the bases for dinner, pre-theatre, late night or brunch. Importantly the food is well prepared and the portions are not skimpy. (Surly attitudes at the entrance that had been reported in previous months were NOT in evidence) A very enjoyable experiecne!

This was our second visit to the Jolly Cricket. We discovered it on our last visit to Naples and couldn't wait to return. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, service was prompt and friendly and the entertainment was great -- a musician who sang a steady selection of songs and never took a break! There are so many items on the menu that I want to try that we will definitely go back again soon.

Recently we visited Jolly Cricket and was looking forward to a delicious meal. Host and hostess were very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was a bit pompous with an attitude. I had the swordfish, which was dry and over cooked. My daughter had the Princess Diana Beet Salad, which was more like an appetizer of stacked beets with goat cheese in between and a few pieces of arugula on top. We thought it would be a salad since it was under the category of salads. The atmosphere was charming and fun. It was a very disappointing meal.
