The Jamesport Manor InnUnexpected delight!Booked this on-line for father's day, last minute. Wasn't sure waht to expect....found it to be absolutely amazing!! The building itself is spectacular and is an updated version of the original architecture. The service was impeccable and the food was top-notch! I had water and bread on my table within 2 minutes of sitting down and the server took my drink order. The waitress gave me just enough time to make a decision on my meal and was very helpful at answering questions about the menu. I had to wait a bit for the appetizer, but the server and the bus girl kept vigil and I did not feel like I was a forgotten guest at the restaurant, although I was alone. My entrée arrived very quickly after the app. and it was delicious (I recommend the chicken dish)! My appetizer and entrée were so filling, I had to decline coffee, but I am surely trying desert next time. The 4 course tasting and pairing dinner was pretty darn perfect. From the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by the Manor's lovely staff we were so comfortable. Service was right on, course selections, wine pairings, and cordial presentation by Paumanok VIneyards owners were delightful. The service was fantastic and the food.....magnificent! Kudos to the chef! We had flounder and the lamb shank. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. We were pleasantly surprised when we happened upon the Inn. It's on a lovely "country road" across from a vineyard. The Inn, a beautiful Victorian style mansion, is gorgeous & the stars out at night took our breath away. It is a place to consistantly get a really special meal from beginning to end. We seldom make the effort to write a restaurant review, but when a place is reliably commendable, they deserve our effort. Most recently six of us went there for the Restaurant Week special menu. Between the six of us, our table sampled numerous different menu items. EVERYONE enjoyed each item from appetizer to dessert.
