Diner Reviews
  • "There's a reason the Ivy in Beverly Hills is a favorite amongst celebrities and longtime patrons — it's exquisite. From the moment you are seated on the patio amongst a vibrant burst of blooming roses, the experience is a memory to savor. My son and I went to the Ivy for Easter brunch, and were greeted with complimentary champagne and a menu filled with delectable offerings. He had the crabcake Benedict; I had the crab omelette. We were served warm, buttery scones served with pots of jam. The lunch menu also looked amazing, with fresh crab and other seafood entrees, including lobster, and an array of tempting desserts. The ambiance is the most beautiful I've experienced, and I live in the Hamptons. Don't miss this experience."

  • "I made a reservation for 10:15 on Easter. I had the sea scallop salad and the goat cheese stuffed zucchini blossoms. The food and ambience were just what I expected as a returning guest--purley impeccable. The service was above average, but my server wasn't as engaging as I would hope. He was attentive, but did not seem genuine so he gets 4 out of 5 stars. No real complaints. Of course I would come back. "

  • "This place is really tired. It's gone way down hill over the years. Don't bother."

  • "They respect our reservations and move us to the terrace before walk ins. Saw a couple of celebrities. Great food and excellent drinks. "

  • "Anyone going to the Ivy is likely looking for stars but or deal makers but the real stars are the good food and the place itself. Could be considered a little precious and it is pricey but it is what it is. Had a lobster Cobb that was terrific. Beautiful, big poached artichoke to start. Service was top notch. We sat inside but in a porch area. Had an excellent time sitting amid the hustle and bustle. "

  • "Sitting on the patio has always been fun. No star sightings this last time, but great food and great ambiance. Have been eating here for many, many years and love that there are always specials, but we can always count on the regular menu items. "

  • "Visited Sunday... lovely flowery place with champagne on arrival, great sevice & lively atmosphere, crab cakes really good & lobster pasta, ask for outside table in the sunshine. "

  • "I would not recommend this location. Food: Good, but not worth the cost. Complimentary champagne was mediocre at best. Seating: Our party of 3 was seated at a table for 2 in what I consider the holding area. Additionally, our table was pushed up against the fire place so we didn't have maximum use of our tiny table. @ $90 per person, I expect elbow room. Only after 3 asks were we moved to another table, still in the holding area. Service: Our server was friendly and helpful. However, we were rushed to leave. The wait staff tried to clear my plate with food on my plate and my fork in hand. The second time he tried to rush us, he tried to clear my $25 drink while it was 2/3 full. The wait staff needs to be trained on server table manners."

  • "The Ivy takes familiar restaurant selections to high levels of quality and taste albeit at equally high prices. Notwithstanding the cost, there is value and satisfaction. Service is professional and familiar considering a fair amount of visitors to LA frequent this long standing popular Hollywood spot. Attractive heated outside and inside seating, valet parking and great desserts complete an enjoyable dining experience, night and day."

  • "The food was amazing and the Ivy pink sauce is a must! The decor is eclectic and peaceful. Great Spot! The only thing missing was a celebrity!"

  • "A beautiful setting and large food selection. All of their ingredients are top shelf and you can taste it in every bite. Over the top service, the music was a little loud, but we were right by the speaker. Yummmmm!"

  • "Bright and fresh... The environment puts a smile on your face, the chefs selections are creative and refreshing... And the service is seemless and friendly. A very welcoming experience."

  • "The price may be a bit higher, however, the food is quite nice, fresh, homemade, and really tasty. I would suggest to dining here on special event or occasion."

  • "Dining at The Ivy was an overall outstanding experience. The feeling that an exquisite taste stays with you for hours and that digestion is easier makes me want to go back very soon!"

  • "Amazing food, drinks were to die for and the best part of the night was our server! He was so great and made our night exactly what we wanted!"

  • "The Ivy is always a favorite with my friends for a special occasion or splurge for a girl's day. Food is predictably good and the occasional Star Sighting always a possibility. Fresh cut multi colored roses a daily appearance as is complimentary champagne while you wait for your table. Often a bit rushed as the staff does want to turn the tables as quickly as possible. Nearby shopping is a treat and the patio is a must."

  • "This once LA hot-spot with coveted tables has certainly Lost its appeal at least when it comes to food quality and presentation. Mesquite grilled salmon - mediocre at best, codfish entree undercooked and greasy 3 stars only because the setting is gorgeous and the waitstaff was excellent."

  • "Food was good, not great. Many choices on menu for picky eaters which I like. Atmosphere lovely. I would come back again."

  • "I love The Ivy's festive vibe, but the tables are situated a bit close for comfort, that is unless you are bumping elbows with a celebrity. Michael Kors was dining a table away. The food was a bit disappointing for the price, but I guess it is more about the overall experience than the actual meal at The Ivy. The servers are very attentive but not intrusive. Although I wouldn't dine at The Ivy regularly, it was worth the splurge for this Long Beach resident to enjoy a day out with friends in Beverly Hills."

  • "Have dined here a few times. Consistently great food, fantastic cocktails, and excellent service! this time was no different. we sat out on the patio on a beautiful sunny day. i usually get the vegetable salad but this time my brother and i got 2 favs on the menu - fried chicken & fish & chips...both were incredibly delicious! usually you spot a "somebody" famous dining there but not this time. definitely pricey but always a treat and worth it every time!"

  • "The location and the food are outstanding. My girlfriend and I were there for Sunday brunch, and we really enjoyed the sun and the atmosphere of their beautiful patio. We ate two incredibly good omelettes with fresh crab and champagne... simply the best."

  • "We could choose to be inside or outside. The terrace is very nice. Our witer was Crhistophe. He is from Belgian and speaks French. He gave us very good advice about the food. We choose the lobster. 1 per person ! It was very big ! But delicious. The others guests were very nice too. We will return back definitively."

  • "The Ivy carries with it expectation - it met some, not all. My teenage daughter and I had a French waiter who was somewhat dismissive of her. It was actually kind of rude. He clearly did not take us very seriously as this is typically a celebrity haunt. It was a middle of the week dinner, and the restaurant was not at all crowded. Still, he was less than interested in us. That said, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful - a warm evening outside. I recommend the food and the location. Hopefully, your service will be different than ours."

  • "I was very surprised that the food was so bad. Their fish & chips were delicious in the past but way over cooked with no flavor. And the fries were just awful. Won't be back!"

  • "The fresh flowers, antiques, vibrant colors and eclecticism give this place the most lovely and unique style. It's the kind of place that you feel special in, just because of the atmosphere. Oh, and the food and drinks are good too!"

  • "The Ivy is always the perfect choice for cozy dinners for 2 or more. The place just makes me happy ! Hundreds of fresh roses, comfortable chairs, wonderful service. It may be expensive but it's worth it. Star sightings every time we've been there !"

  • "Starters great...very interesting well prepared. Main courses weak... cod was soggy and fish and chips served with fries not chips even though that is how many establishments do it...and frightfully expensive. $35 for fish and chips is outrageous. Luckily having been there for lunch I know it is better than dinner. I was entertaining out of town guests from New England...they were semi impressed. I will not do dinner again but lunch is ok."

  • "I booked a reservation at The Ivy while on a girl's trip to LA. From reading reviews on Trip Advisor, it sounded like the place to see celebrities. We were there on a Monday evening for dinner, so there were no celebrities, but plenty of people, so we knew it must be good. It exceeded my expectations as far as the service, the ambience, and the overall experience. The flowers at every table and throughout the restaurant are amazing! Our waiter was great, thd drinks were the prettiest in all of LA, and was overall our best dining experience of the week.! I would recommend a table outside for the best views. It is a must see in LA, and I will go back!"
