  • "We were very pleased with this lovely outdoor bistro. My only complaint was that I had to leave the table before my husband paid the check because of the smokers all around us. (I realize that is the chance we take when we take an outside table)"

  • "Hidden gem in an exclusive neighborhood in downtown Miami"

  • "We made a reservation based on the proximity to our hotel. Big mistake. The food is frozen, thawed and then served, with just a hint of 'freezer burn flavor'. The servers were 'attentive' until the basketball game came on, and then they were facing the television, with there backs to us. Ignoring your guests, rude. All we wanted to do was pay. The décor is trying too hard and competing with the gorgeous view outside...stop. I should have known, when the popcorn maker was presented we were in for a doozy! I am from Philly an we have a great food scene. Miami as a bit of one as well, but The Island Bistro is not part of it. I will not return. One should think twice before going as well. "

  • "Food is very good to excellent. Place should be busier but alas on a Saturday night we were one of four tables all night. Service technically good could do more with hospitality. I think that would fill the place if there was more of a connection between guests and staff. Food however was superb. The best Steak tartare I have ever had. Brickell is not really known for it's food, walk over the BKey bridge and enjoy."

  • "Had a family member in town and wanted to take them somewhere I hadn't experienced so we came to The Island Bistro. We sat inside and had a great meal. The food was really delicious. We truly enjoyed the restaurant. After dinner, we sat in their bar lounge area for a few drinks. The music and ambiance were great as well. Little gem of a restaurant."

  • "A great comeback by this place! Was very pleased with the service, food and ambience. The chef was kind enough to come and meet the diners too and was very passionate about fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend this place."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to dinner here for our 2 year anniversary. They just so happened to be celebrating Mardi Gras at the restaurant. We had a great time. They gave us beads and drinks were 2-for-1. She was obsessed with their blood orange mojitos. They have a wheel on Tuesdays that you spin - we win 25% off our bill! We sat on their outside terrace because it was a gorgeous night. The server was very pleasant and the manager visited our table to make sure everything was going well. I ordered the beef and mushroom risotto - AMAZING. My girlfriend ordered the steak frites - very good as well. All in all we had a great meal and they validated our parking. Would recommend The Island Bistro to anyone."

  • "We were looking for someplace near the Arsht Center with a vegetarian-friendly menu and Island Bistro was just the place! Very small and intimate on the Island of Brickell Key. Staff was very attentive and accomodating and the food was simply prepared and delicious! I'd like to go back again when I'm not on a restricted diet and try the desserts and wine!!"

  • "The mandarin hotel restaurant was booked for the evening so we found this little gem of a restaurant only blocks away. The staff was very accommodating , and saved us a table outside for our dinner. When we requested that the music be turned down A little they obliged. The lobster salad had generous portions of lobster meat. The pork was delicious ,per my husband. The prices were very reasonable. It is a very nice ,casual dining experience."

  • "We arrived 15 minutes late, we didn't have any problem, the food was great from the appetizers to the desserts, generous portions at the end the parking was validated 100%, in Miami? couldn't believe it, it was a great experince. Great Food, Good Service, Adecuate Prices and free parking--THE PERFECT COMBINATION--"

  • "I will most surely be back! The food was great, I know that it was busier than usual, but the servers tried keeping up. There was a great feel to the area and the staff was warm and friendly. Awesome visit!"

  • "The food (also the California salad) was divine, the drinks delicious, and the service superb."

  • "Ambiance and service great! Definitely put it on your list for a casual evening out. Tho' sauces were meek and food a bit salty for my taste in french cuisine."

  • "This little spot is located in Brickell key, so you know the prices will be higher than needed. The food is palatable but nothing worth bragging about. The service was good. There is no view, which is a shame considering it's on a little island on in the bay. It sits on the ground floor of the building it is in and looks out at the parking lot and a common park."

  • "Food was surprisingly good, had the shrimp wrapped with bacon, several others had the lobster salad, thought it was excellent. Wasn't too sure on first look, but food saved the day. Very loud though, noise carries in there."

  • "We went there while we were staying in Miami for the international book fair. We were only in town for the night, but felt like we were on vacation. The tuna tartare was better than expected. The range of choices was extensive. The staff was courteous, and the place was quiet. A wonderful reprieve from the places we've been dining lately. A real joy to be able to savor our food and our conversation."

  • "The waiter was aggressive and unpleasant from the start. We showed him a Local Dines Cert and his manners went out the door. He kept trying to push more expensive dishes on us, telling us that we didn't know what we were doing when we ordered. He told us before ordering that we could take advantage of the happy hour special, buy 1 get 1 well drinks. Then when he brought the bill he said we couldn't take advantage of it and charged us the whole thing. We asked to speak to the manager. He went in and came back out and said the manager was busy, but that he couldn't do anything. Then we got up went inside and asked for the manger ourselves. The manager came over and had no idea what had been going on. He had never spoken to him."

  • "When in Downtown Miami for a conference this is a good walking distance option to a hotel restaurant. The food was good, a very attentive waiter, and it doesn't break the bank."

  • "Overall the food was very good and worth trying out. We have been here several times and their risottos are great you cant go wrong on any of them. I also had the Mahi Mahi prepared a different way off the menu in a buerre blanc sauce which was excellent. Food was fresh and service was good. We will be back."

  • "Every time am around DownTown, Fabien"s is the place, the food is superb, this time was the avocado tartar, what a good expirience, and the veal chop the best of the best. Service as always, very good and this time for our surprise, they put an enormous fotomural of Paris, they surprise us for good every time we come in. KEEP IT UP"

  • "Not quite a French restaurant. Food (fish and veal) bland and average; almost as if it came out of the bag from Costco. Service was average, some how kitchen didn't understand simple requests in preparation. Waiters unable to deliver plates to right guest. Other than that, fine."
    Dined on 3/1/2013
  • "All went well with food and service until dessert. THey didn't have a few things on the menu, and the one they brought was frozen solid, thus inedible. At least they removed it from the bill...."

  • "The place was empty, we had 3 different waiters for a table of 2, We had 2 main dishes 2 drinks and one salads, two waiters brought us the wrong food first that was for the only other table with people in the restaurant at the time, my friend was done with her meal it I wasn't I was actually getting food in my fork when one waiter came to ask me if I was done with my food? Really ? Not only is that a very rude American thing to rush to take the plates but he lacked commun sense. After he finally got his way and took my plate he brought the bill without us even asking for it,apparently their $19 dessert were not for us, we got our bill he got 10% tip and I guess our 3 waiters had to share the $28 delicioudish they forgot to add to our bi"

  • "Overall it was a great experience. The bread, salad and onion soup was fabulous. My husband's mussels were excellent but my fish was dry. The cheese cake and apple tart were outstanding. Our waitress left after the first course and we did not receive very good attention after until the very end."

  • "The food was good and fresh and well-prepared. The menu was creative and included some items that were very unique, like a delicious asparagus soup with a touch of truffle oil and some really wonderfully prepared escargot. I would definitely return to this restaurant and can see why it is quite a good find for Brickell Key.."

  • "It's a real treat dining on quiet Brickell Key, and Fabien's has wonderful, unpretentious food leaning toward French, plus friendly, capable service. The interior is contemporary and very attractive, although we prefer the outdoor terrace, which is quiet and romantically lit. If you're not familiar with where to park, ask the attendant in the gatehouse as you enter the island."

  • "If you like Foie Gras, this is the place to go. Excellent food and excellent wine list. Deserts are nothing special. I would have expected at least a Grand Marnier souflé or a Crepe Souflé like BLT on SOBE. This restaurant can definitely compete against the other SOBE Steak houses. The lighting is however directed right into the clients eyes which is uncomfortable. Restaurant decor is very nice except for the white walls and ceiling (Burgundy comes to mind). The art works are very nice as well as the curved brick wall in the back."
