A word from The Iron Room
The Iron Room is the restaurant at the Atlantic City Bottle Company & is a nod to the recently retired iron playing piece in the popular board game Monopoly. The Iron Room specializes in small plates & the cuisine is described as distinctly American. Chef Kevin Cronin says what makes it American is that the menu is a hodge-podge & mashing of cultures making the cuisine an interesting melting pot.

Local seafood, game meats, hand-made pastas & the “Flat Iron Burger” (the menu’s only permanent resident) are what guests can expect to see when visiting the restaurant. The Iron Room will also feature tasting menus & host special events dedicated to craft beverages & great food. We are as passionate about cheese as we our craft beverage. We have around 15-25 cheeses from all over the world on our list every day covering all the five catergories: fresh, bloomy, washed, pressed/cooked, and blue.

It's almost like a speakeasy of sorts hidden on the back room of a liquor store. Creative artinsl cocktails , all the food we had was excellent, service was very attentive. Craft beer choices extensive. Wines weak but you can buy a bottle in the store with a modest corkage fee and they had really good offbeat choices. A truly hidden gem.

We took our sister here for dinner on Sunday to celebrate her birthday. Almost five days later, we are still talking about our meal! We enjoyed each dish: pappardelle with pepitas in brown butter, grilled cheese on sourdough with house made catsup, Asian BBQ hangar steak with Brussels sprouts, and sockeye salmon served over seasoned corn and snap peas. We finished with the creme brulee and from beginning to end, it was the perfect meal for us. The service was excellent and flawless and we enjoyed the band playing there that night. My sisters live a few hours away but they are already talking about making a special trip just to dine at The Iron Room again.

Great little spot to get something light to eat, and enjoyed their drinks. Nice bar with knowledgeable bartenders. Located just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the casinos. We enjoyed the Hanger stake with brussle spouts, and the bison buolibase noodles. For desert definetly try the chocolate cake, it is to die for.

A perfect before-show meal with an excellent tapas menu. The owner and chef greater us at the door. A very good business touch. The restaurant was located in the back of the building. The front was a wine and alcohol retail store with high end scotch etc and so on. There was a table setup for tasting. Go. You won't be disappointed. Local bar crew is friendly as well.

Up an alley, alongside an abandoned Salvation Army Center, behind an upscale liquor and wine store…okay, so it's not the greatest location. But the Iron Room does have a dazzling assortment of bourbons and scotches,it does have dozens of craft beers, it does have an intriguing wine list, and it does have an excellent assortment of small plates, imaginative takes on comfort food, some exotic ingredients, skillfully cooked and handsomely presented. The service can be spotty and the kitchen closes at 9:45 most nights and desserts do not match the quality of the small plates, but on Wednesday nights it's half-off on wines by the glass and that's reason enough to patronize this quirky place.

My husband and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary here while on vacation in Ocean City. My husband loves craft beer and I love wine, so we were drawn just because of their extensive lists of both. It ended up being half price wine night, so that made it even better for me. :) We started out the night with recommendations of cheese pairings to go with our drinks and the cheese/drink combo was great. The menu is a small plates/sharing style which we have never done before. It was delicious and had very different options to choose from. It allowed us to branch out and try things we wouldn't particularly get. The whole experience was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

The Iron Room was an amazing find. It is small, there are probably about 8 tables in total, but the atmosphere was fantastic. Very relaxed and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. 4 of us had dinner here and we ordered about 7 small plates. Each one of them were fatntastic. The tuna crudo was out of this world. I loved the fresh wasabi on it. We also loved the Udon Mac and cheese. We were leary about the truffel oil as sometimes people use too much, but not here, it was perfectly balanced. To find a place like this and not have to go to a casino was just what we were looking for.

Really cool spot. Would def recommend checking it out. I gave a 4 out of 5 b/c the menu lacks cohesiveness and drink service was a little slow. Noteworthy items .... Croquettes, Asian BBQ steak and funnel cake. It got pretty noisy at one point due to the tile floors and low ceilings. Some type of sound proofing would improve this.

After being left standing at the front for 5 minutes while the host had a conversation with the owner, we were escorted to a table for two. This poor introduction was more than made up for by the attentive and informative bartender who was able to explain just about everything about everything with passion! We started off with a couple of interesting cheeses from the cheese board,,,they were delicious! We followed with the croquets, the seared endive and the grilled cheese. I thought they were all excellent. The two whites we drank were interesting and we liked them as well. The hand picked wine collection by Paul, one of the owners, provided a sophisticated yet homey backrop. I will be returning.

We were OK with the mnu but they need to add more things to mix it up a bit. 6 more tapas items and three more entrees would be great! But good eats and good drinks and tons of fun! Go with a group!

This was my second trip to the Iron Room. My first was an amazing beer tasting class. Kevin, the head chef, is extremely knowledgeable in spirits & food. His class was amazing. He introduced me to beers I never would have tasted! My second trip was for food. It was simply fantastic. The bacon burger with smokey catsup was the best burger I ever had.. hands down. The chicken cordon bleu wontons were delicious! The free range chicken..wow! Finished the night was a Sidecar & flour-less chocolate cake.. what an amazing dinner.. and my server, Jenna, was great, too! Don't miss this place...

Very small restaurant with a large bar though and a retail wine/whiskey area. Not a large menu - mostly small plates but quite an interesting array. Mark, our waiter, was very knowledgeable about the beer and food. We had the Chef's Board which was perfect for the two of us. Nuts, dried fruit, crostini, crackers, 3 different cheese (chef's choice), wild boar sausage, sardines, olives, duck pate with a grainy mustard, honey and a chutney type spread - there was supposed to be a smoked duck breast but they were out so they adjusted the price. I hope I haven't left anything off - there was so much. We had taken a cab and Mark called us a cab to return. A little off the beaten path but well worth the trip.

In town just a few days visiting family, we stopped in to try the unusual menu and found the food indeed interesting. But even more interesting and fun was the great atmosphere: a friendly and knowledgeable staff, extensive whisky list, wine and great beer selections and, to my family's particular thrill, the Tuesday night live music of mandolin, stand-up bass and guitar - shout out to Jug Paradise! We loved the creativity and integrity of this place and if we lived in the area would make this a regular dining spot.

I tried the Iron Room with 5 friends and we liked the intimate, bar-like atmosphere, but the service left a lot to be desired. It always surprises me when you have to flag someone down just to get another drink or worse, when it takes more than 15 minutes to bring the drink you ordered! The food is considered 'tapas-style' but some items were very small and others were sized like a small entrée. The burger was disappointing as was the strawberry tomato salad (3 strawberries and 3 chunks of tomato w/ a balsamic dressing on a mound of whipped cream??). Mac and cheese was delicious. Skip the dessert - nothing was worth the calories. I might be willing to give the restaurant a second chance. Maybe they just need to work some kinks out...

My husband and I tried The Iron Room while in AC for a concert and wanted to avoid casino restaurants. This restaurant dies small plates so we tried a de cheeses, a grilled endive salad, pork tenderloin (was a little overcooked) and a filet of beef on a bed of blue cheese polenta (which was divine). It was a tad slow but I think that is part of the experience. Tiny place and you park in an almost alley alongside the building. I would go again if I didn't live 3hours away. Great for wine/beer enthusiasts - many choices.

Even though I already knew the bar/restaurant was behind a nondescript liquor store I was still a little uncertain when we arrived that this was actually the right place. We walked in and headed to the back where we were greeted warmly by the staff. There were avail seats at the bar where we waited about 5 min for our table. The menu is tapas style small plates, specialty cheeses but also offers a full size burger and fries. The service was terrific and the food delicious. We were a little concerned about our seating next to the musicians playing classic rock/country/original songs but they played unplugged and we could have a conversation as well as enjoy the music. We have already booked our next reservation.

You could pass this place a hundred times and not realize what was inside. Front is a liquor store, back room, wonderful bar with the best selection of whiskey (and whisky) anywhere in the states. Watch out though, some of that top shelf hootch can set you back $50 a shot!. Wonderful small plate menu. May seem a bit "hipster" but us 60 ish folks certainly felt welcome.

Do make a reservation as it is a small venue - one of its many charms in my opinion. Can be quite loud and hard to hear so probably best for a twosome.
