The spot has always been a nice place to end up after a walk on the canal or a visit to Glen Echo park.
Now, not only is it still all of that, but the food is excellent! Both times we had children under 12 and they were fine. I've had the fish and others had some of the beef dishes and all were very satisfied. We also brought family from NYC (party of 7) and they were equally impressed. Next time we'll try the pub!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPups & Pints - Great EventWent to The Irish Inn for Pups & Pints - an outdoor fundraiser for the Montgomery County Humane Society. What a great event. Loved the music, the outdoor grill(delicious cheeseburger) & the outdoor bar. I live close by and brought my two dogs who played with the many other puppies there that night. I hope they do more events like this, great for the whole family and neighborhood. We have lived in Bethesda for 10 years, and love coming to the Irish Inn. The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant or bar in the area. The staff are welcoming and we love being recognized and greeted with a smile. The fish and chips are what you would expect in a coastal community - not DC. Also, friendly and efficient staff. The Inn was crowded and although we had reservations for 7:30, we had to wait util about 8 to be seated. Not to worry though, the owner came by and gave us free drinks while we watied...and he regaled us with Irish stories. It was a truly fun evening...once seated we had a great meal...try the fish and chips...or the prime rib.. Both were excellent. The wine was fine as well...although some of us drank..what elsel..Irsih beer. Valet parking was a fine extra. It took a few extra minutes to get our table, but we sat upstairs in a small room and it was terrific. Not noisy, great service, and the food was delicious. It is always a pleasant expeerience with good food, drinks and service. There are a lot of restaurant choices in the area but we stay with the Inn because we are always warmly welcomed and well taken care of by the management, owners and staff. I go to other restaurants in the area and downtown, but never feel as welcome as I do at the Inn. The staff and owners know most of their customers by name which is rare these days. I feel conflict Ted in singing the Inn's praises. I would rather keep it a secret so I could have it all to myself. The staff knows your name and always makes you feel welcome. The food is very
good and the drinks are generous. Quality of food, beverages and service is consistant. I have been a
customer eight years. Try it you will like it. Free valet parking is nice touch. The pub is cozy and popular. The
